Murtha has told Bush from the beginning that he needed more troops. It took Bush a few years and 3000 American lives to figure out that Murtha was correct.
Bush sent more troops and now it's working out, what's the problem?
The problem is that Murtha is a defeatist. Islam respects only power, not appeasement or rationality. Islam's job is to promote as many internal quislings as possible, deny truth, lie to all infidels, convert you or kill you. I supported then and support now the invasion of Iraq. I support the STRATEGY. I, however, abhor the TACTICS. Because Islam only respects power, we should have applied ourselves. In my opinion, if we were to have completely devastated a country in the Middle East, all the rest of those ME Islamic assholes would have lined up like beaten little doggies. On the other hand, having struck in such a fashion, we should realize, as we NEED to realize NOW, that this "battle," this "war," will last forever. There simply is no middle ground here for the addressing of Islamists. YOU won't convert THEM. You will NOT reason with them. Sitting down at a table in order to conduct a rational discussion will not work. They will agree all you wish and then plot to kill you once the meeting has ended. Baghdad should have been leveled, as well as other cities. Every palace Hussein owned should have been turned to slag.
