The United States Supreme Court has now decided that, though a given drug is FDA approved, if a deleterious event results from that drug the incident is actionable -- despite the FDA drug approval.
Let's do what I call "The Logical Extension":
Do you think this decision will, in the long run, save lives or jeopardize lives? Because, of course, it begs the primordial question: why would drug companies conduct more and deeper research into newer drugs? Who will do this?

P.S.
Socialized Medicine, anyone? Go here for a bit of an awakening.
That is an interesting thought to ponder and I see how the drug companies could go under as a result. Wow.. kind of scary.
ReplyDeleteHere is a link to Alan Keyes new website. He has some info. on Palin I found interesting. Not sure what I think about it yet. I am going to do some research on it when I have time. I do like his post today though..

Rivka, no one finds the drug companies particularly loveable; instead they can be unscrupulous and venal. But the more restrictions we place on a free market economy, the more we take away the ability of an individual or a corporation to embrace the incentive to excel, then the more we tie the hands of this nation and its ability to survive, much less thrive.
ReplyDeleteThese are frightening times. Many of the things we're doing, we don't HAVE to do. We CAN avoid a depression -- we HAVE the capability. But will we, the Obama Administration, government -- will we CHOOSE to avoid one?
That remains to be seen.
BZ
I'm beginning to believe the Obama administration doesn't want to avoid a depression, BZ. It seems they want to destroy capitalism and all they are about is larger government. Please forgive me for stating what's pretty obvious. What I don't understand is why Obama thinks he can be elected for a second term if he totally winds up pissing everyone off?
ReplyDeleteI agree that more restrictions on our economy is a bad thing, even more restrictions on the drug companies. The government is just sticking it's nose into everything it can. It's becoming a monster and perhaps someday people will wake up and understand that Obama wears no clothes. (Oh, now that's a scary thought!)
Gayle, already there are misgivings by people but, of course, they will NOT be covered by the MSM because they are still swooning over the black drug that is Barack Hussein Obama.

Gayle,
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid it is highly possible that B. Hussein cares not one whit if he angers everyone in the whole USA. He has ACORN to fix his election, & even if not, I hate to bring it up, but remember 1996.
BZ, I see you are just forcing me to accept change all the time! I had gotten so used to your blog header pic of that Zeppelin, & your own pic, & now we have new ones all around. I may have a breakdown if this keeps up!
David: that is quite interesting that you noticed the header change. I believe I can't keep the current tack, with the way this country is moving. I should like to thank, also, Bushwack for updating the BZ header. His HTML skills are legend.
ReplyDeleteI changed the masthead because this country is also undergoing fundamental change that, in my opinion, is far, far, far from ideal. We shall one day obviously see these immediate hours as a remarkably pivotal time; a time of which we failed to take advantage.
