Now that the Olympics are over, I'll be back to watching TCM.

I'm not crazy about Astaire as an actor but boy, could he dance! And one of my all time favorite sayings is, in effect: Not only did Ginger Rogers do everything Fred Astaire did but she did it on four-inch heels and backwards!

Simpler, kinder time. Thanks for sharing it.

Oh, and bd, one of many of those 'second class citizens' was a woman by the name of Amelia Earhart. You may have heard of her. You're still the comic relief around here, pal.

cjhCJhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07798965643027904154noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7370534.post-87630954649581043012010-02-28T18:53:25.092-08:002010-02-28T18:53:25.092-08:00FJ: well said, sir! It'd take me 10 years to watch YouTube.

PD: I thought all movies were black and white until my grandma got a color TV in the late 60s. We watched TV on a black metal cube from the 50s to the early 70s. Our first color TV was an RCA with such a wonderful wood cabinet that my Dad made it into a storage cabinet with louvered doors.

TF: I suspect he's not around for much longer. Just thinkin'. . .

Greybeard: TOUCHE, man! Ol' bd is quick to criticize but oh-so-reluctant to place his thoughts into the actual Blogosphere where his musings cans be immured. Seems to me like me lacks some Major Sack, if you ask me.

'Course, he'd have to understand the concept of "sack" in the first place. . .

BZBloviating Zeppelinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01359816456769157176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7370534.post-72108526712328644342010-02-28T16:49:29.585-08:002010-02-28T16:49:29.585-08:00bd-

Just watch those oldies over and over when they're little and they cant help love and appreciate them too. I did this and it worked. My kid LOVES all the black and white movies.

funny story: when she was little I used to tell her the movies where black and white because the whole World was black and white then. LITERALLY. She believed it.
She must have passed her knowledge of this to her teacher one day in school. Needless to say she was not happy with me when she got home. lol We laugh about it now.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07083141849691624128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7370534.post-58721642673501899882010-02-28T11:43:29.427-08:002010-02-28T11:43:29.427-08:00FJ, Perfect video to wake the Obamatons up...FJ, Perfect video to wake the Obamatons up...Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12598533152052996735noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7370534.post-60927997073160547392010-02-28T11:21:14.826-08:002010-02-28T11:21:14.826-08:00A link dedicated to bd and his "progressive&q...A link dedicated to bd and his "progressive" friends...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7370534.post-39590690327924564372010-02-28T11:17:50.448-08:002010-02-28T11:17:50.448-08:00bd hates a system with "classes". He believes there can be a utopia where everyone is the same, everyone's equal and "just a prole".

Only there's never a system with just "proles"... as there must be a "revolutionary vanguard" of "special/privledged" masters to make all the "smart" decisions for the proles about what the proles will produce and why. The entire "premise" underlying his contempt of "class" is false, as his "single class" is in reality a two class system of "slaves and masters".

Capitalism is a four class system, of masters, business owners, workers and parasites, with a HUGE "middle class".

bd HATES the "middle class".
