And that means, at least for Iran, a diesel sub. Despite what "the movies" indicate, a diesel sub is harder to hear and locate than a nuke. You can buy diesel subs all day from, you guessed it, France, Russia (hey, an overstock!) and even China -- if you're "special."

BZBloviating Zeppelinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01359816456769157176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7370534.post-1156706842149580172006-08-27T12:27:00.000-07:002006-08-27T12:27:00.000-07:00I'm sure by now you have heard that Iran successfu...I'm sure by now you have heard that Iran successfully test fired a top speed long-range sub-to-surface missile off the Persian Gulf, BZ. And that the missile was seen coming out of the water. So it gets worse by the minute. *sigh*Gaylehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02540710405153666843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7370534.post-1156687041215319412006-08-27T06:57:00.000-07:002006-08-27T06:57:00.000-07:00Every President must learn that taking inaction in...Every President must learn that taking inaction in times of peril is worse than taking a wrong action. Sitting still while enemies move against you is a prescription for death, by denying that We have the Right to Act. When a President says things he must be prepared to back them by the Republic to protect the Republic so that it can honor its commitments given openly. By not keeping to same the Republic is diminished and demeaned not only in the eyes of the world, but in the eyes of the Citizenry of the Republic.

Iran has given long list of Casus belli to many Nations: US, Israel, Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Afghanistan, Pakistan... a long and growing list as they spread and preach terror, death and submission to their will. Iran seeks to be the leading power in the Middle East not just to destroy Israel, as the other Nations of the region are now finding out. They are *all* on the target list as Iran has made clear. Doing nothing against this is on the road back to Empires for everyone there. That is the end of Nations which are the only thing ever made to find and protect freedom even when they have been totalitarian, the ability to *have* Nations that are free are within that formulation of things called Nation States. No Empire has ever had nor granted such freedom as the Empire gives freedom and does not derive it from the governed.

We did not support Israel either directly nor indirectly, and it is to Our shame as a Nation that We did not. A simple thing like committing aircover and shore bombardment from the Sixth Fleet would have given slow and steady degradation to those fighting against Israel, and put very few lives at risk. We could have used diplomacy to forcefully put forth to a Nation or two that they were at peril and the US would support them in removing the weak link of Syria via an Afghanistan style operation. Only The President of the Republic of Free People could do that, and show that there is yet leadership from this Nation and commitment to its Allies and Friends.

Inaction because we hear a drumbeat of doom and 'elites' telling us how much we will or will not put forth in blood to sustain liberty will kill us as surely as nuclear devices, bioweapons, chemical toxins, bullets, or the sword to the neck. They quaver about the length of the war when, for this Republic, it is short in time and commitment compared to past conflicts. And we do not learn the age-old lesson of losing a battle: when routed your enemy cuts you down from behind as you run.

"Never take counsel of your fears." - Andrew Jackson

And those that preach fear and defeat want that, for EVERYONE, so that Empires may return to Rule Us and this experiment in Liberty destroyed for good and all.A Jacksonianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07607888697879327120noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7370534.post-1156642539553442342006-08-26T18:35:00.000-07:002006-08-26T18:35:00.000-07:00Mahndisa: You were in NO WAY paranoid or even mono...Mahndisa: You were in NO WAY paranoid or even mononoid.

It is madness but it shall not be quelled by anything other than more loss of life. The Israelis took care of business at Osirak. I fear I doubt their capability to handle this situation, considering their response to Hezbollah.

I can only hope there is something of an under-the-table deal between our country and Israel.

Hoping, of course, does not necessarily make it so.

Your thoughts have been confirmed. Iran is here and it is now. Many rivers are converging at a massively-important confluence.

BZBloviating Zeppelinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01359816456769157176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7370534.post-1156641001173970362006-08-26T18:10:00.000-07:002006-08-26T18:10:00.000-07:0008 26 06Well BZ:I couldn't have phrased it better....08 26 06

Well BZ:
I couldn't have phrased it better. I knew you would do the subject justice! I am appalled and exceedingly pissed at this situation. I have been blogging about the dangers of Iran for almost a year now with my WW III is near posts, now the writing is on the wall and CLEARLY states that Iran is a threat to the world.

I now laugh at the jerkoffs who said I was paranoid, and that you were dealing in doom and gloom. In the end, Chicken Little's we were not!

Oh, BZ I honestly hope that something can be done to quell this madness IMMEDIATELY. It has been said that one cannot turn back the clock, but if not, we can break the damnable thing!!! At this stage, our President is looking rather sage, don't you think?

Now, the question is what will he do with this information? You see, this situation made me realize that I need to see actions. However, he and his Cabinet look good for seeing the 'axes of Evil' a few years back.

Now, will we see a WWIII, or an era of quasi peace before the storm?

Great, stimulating post.Mahndisa S.
