Brett Favre: Minnesota Vikings Push The Superbowl

Up front, I have to admit to a singular bias:

I am a Green Bay Packer fan, and have been so for many years. I wrapped my fan-dom around Brett Favre, an exquisite player who -- ahem -- may have made some mistakes in terms of premature retirements -- but certainly not in terms of his playing abilities. He's the first NFL player to win games against all 32 teams in the league!

After retiring from the Packers in 2008, he played one contentious year for the New York Jets.

He then ended up quarterbacking the Minnesota Vikings for the 2009 season.

Now, on the way to the NFC championship, the Vikings killed the Cowboys this past weekend with a 34 to 3 score.

This Sunday, at 3:30 PST, the Vikings take on the New Orleans Saints.

For Brett, for the Elders, I'd really like to see the Vikings in the Super Bowl this year.

  1. MY HERO! I'm 8 years older but still hangin' tough. Just got my annual physical. Doc says I'm fit as a fiddle! Low cholesterol, bp 120/80, lipid profile textbook. I'll probably die breaking my neck on the double black diamond run! Check out my current post. I really am that crazy

  2. I remember the days of Fran Tarkington and the 'Purple People Eaters'. I also remember that the 'Horns have never won a Superbowl... ever. Will Favre break the curse?

  8. I will forgive you just this once for being a Vikings fan; I did not appreciate the reference how they "killed [my beloved] Cowboys this past weekend," howver I am still a Favre fan...
I predict Vikings-31 Colts-24 for the BIG GAME on Feb 7.

  9. I saw Brett play on more than one occasion, but not as a pro. I'm an old Southern Miss grad and watched him in his college days. Saw him beat Fla St one year when they were ranked no. 1. Great days. Not much on pro ball, but I do watch the super bowl sometimes. College ball is my game.
