Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

May 11th: Snow

I'm in the midst of attempting to write some posts ahead and, at the same time, to examine where we are now as a nation -- and as a planet -- and where it appears we're rapidly moving, in terms of the future.

The nomination of Elena Kagan to SCOTUS by Mr Obaka also has me writing a post with regard to the overall strategy and tactics utilized by Leftists to overturn the historically-immutable nature of the US Constitution and the push to transform it into a "living document," changeable at a whim.

At this point I am starting to be of the opinion that we are about to relive the 1930s all over again.

Recall your history, ladies and gentlemen; what occurred in the 1930s?

In the meantime, as I write behind the scenes, I received a blanket of snow just yesterday. On May 11th.

As the City of Los Angeles is about to go completely bankrupt, its City Council is spending time and effort to publicly boycott the entire state of Arizona. Yes, that is how insane and unhinged Leftists and Demorats are truly.

Global warming is a bitch...

1930's?? That led to 1941 and US in WWII, today that is a disaster, we have a bunch of wussies running this nation and too many that wouldn't serve again if it did happen...

L.A.?? Hope it falls off into the Pacific...

TF: led to a world war. . . ?

Gosh. Is that possibly the point I wish to make? With regard to, say, Germany and Greece and Europe and entitlements?

People, go and Google quotes by George Santayana.

That is clear to any who really know what's going on with the political front -- worldwide.

As for California, well, the day of reckoning for irresponsible financial management has arrived. If I lived in California, I'd find another state to live in if at all possible.

AOW: unfortunately for me, I still have to work here. Not quite retired just yet.

How can anyone consider retiring in this environment, BZ?
I'm "In the Zone", but frightened to tears of the thought...
By doing so you relatively "fix" your income in the face of possible runaway inflation. I've had relatives retire during the last year and I just shake my head and hope they won't be knockin' on my door for food soon.
Be prepared everyone.

Greybeard: the only reason I'm thinking about it is because our contract expires next year and I'll likely lose anywhere from 9% to 26% if I hang around for the renegotiations. There are nothing but takeaways on the table.

At this point, it's pretty clear. I can't afford to take that loss PLUS pay for all of my healthcare PLUS whatever Obaka has hiding around the corner.
