Bloviating Zeppelin: Letter to the RNC

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Letter to the RNC

Dear Readers:

I just got back, Thursday evening, from a week-long law enforcement conference in South Lake Tahoe. Whilst it was 92+ degrees in the Sacramento Valley (Fornicalia), temperatures were 50 to 58 degrees with some winds coming off the lake itself. It was wonderful. Cooler than my house. I was in heaven. Sometimes I think I was an Arctic polar bear in my previous life.

When I returned I found a letter addressed to me, from the Republican National Committee. They were hitting me up for money, asking me to renew my membership in the RNC. I had previously contributed $500 to the RNC in 2006.

In the letter, dated May 18th, the fourth paragraph read in part:

Higher taxes and increased government spending are just the beginning. Socialized health care and more government interference in our lives. Weakened national security and foreign policy held hostage to international approval. We can't afford to let the Democrats enact their failed liberal agenda.

Quite frankly, this pissed me off. So I'll just cut to the chase: I'm not sending them any money. Not until they secure our borders. Which means I'll likely not be sending ANY more money to the RNC.

In lieu of sending money, I stuffed their prepaid envelope with the following letter I wrote:

Republican National Committee
310 First Street SE
PO Box 98206
Washington, DC 20077-7561
Robert M. Duncan, Chairman

Dear Mr. Duncan:

I personally appreciate brevity and for that reason I'll keep this letter short as, of course, you paid postage for my reply. I appreciate that as I would rather not waste an additional 41-cents (recently up 2-cents) on the RNC.

I suspect you've already interpreted the slant of my letter in the first few words, and that is this:

No. No cash to the RNC. No further checks from me to you. In any amount. Period.

Not until the Republican Party coalesces and President Bush declares there shall be no amnesty for illegal immigrants and that he publicly states that illegal means illegal, and that he declares, publicly, that his goal is to build an 854+ mile fence along the US/Mexico border.

Your letter to me, in part, states:

Higher taxes and increased government spending are just the beginning. Socialized health care and more government interference in our lives. Weakened national security and foreign policy held hostage to international approval. We can't afford to let the Democrats enact their failed liberal agenda.

You can't even tell the truth. President Bush has spent money like never before. And you have the guts to even write about "weakened national security" -- laying it on the steps of an "international agenda"?

No. Wrong. It is President Bush who has weakened our borders. It is completely within his power to insist, stridently, publicly and continuously, on securing our borders.

It is within his power to loudly and continuously call for a border fence, for continual enforcement of immigration laws already on the books.

It is within his power to insist that funding to all states shall be dependent upon individual law enforcement agencies turning over, as we once did, illegal aliens to INS.

And to cutting off federal funding to those cities deeming themselves to be "sanctuary cities." Let them be sanctuary cities funded by their own local tax base.

Because these are my criteria for sending any more checks I know that, in truth, I shall never be sending any more money to the RNC ever again. Neither President Bush nor the GOP have the guts to either 1. simply enforce the laws currently on the books or 2. insist that we completely secure our borders -- both north and south.

The GOP has gone completely invertebrate. You do not deserve my money. You have consciously determined not to protect our country. Demography is prophecy. You fail to comprehend that concept.
Understand this: bringing your Republican President into line, bringing your Republican Congressmen into line, bringing your Republican Senators into line -- it isn't my job.

It is yours.

Do your job.

Sincerely,

Ladies and Gentlemen:

I would humbly suggest that each and every one of you likewise draft a similar letter should you be solicited for cash by the RNC or the GOP.

So be it.

Dear BZ: This Canadian is with you in spirit, and is wondering when the northern border of the United States will be more secure.

Ya know BZ, it might not be a bad letter to send even if they haven't hit you up for cash, just to let them know how we ALL feel..

When the POTUS refuses to defend his own nation, and when HIS party refuses to 'call' him on it, well, that's why I declared a long time ago that I had no real use for the Repubs...

Didn't then, don't now, and until such time as the RNC becomes a party of true Conservatism, I will continue to stand against them...

And continue to keep MY money in MY pocket...

Deborah: if the south is a sieve, the north is worse. You've already had your own "terrorist-forestalled" incident where Islamists intended to kill your PM, invade your House of Commons. I'd sent Islamists north-to-south as readily as I'd sent them south-to-north, if I were intent on doing so.

Fred: Heavy, heavy sigh. And I mean it. I am so sad.

Saw your comment at olbroad to Jayccccccccccc. Loved the last paragraph. Thank you on behalf of freedom loving women, men loving women wherever in the world.

I've sent such letters, faxed same, and actually yelled at callers from the RNC. My husband and I stopped contributing about a year go. Because it is important, I will renew the effort (writing not contributing).

bigwhitehat: now that's taking action. I hope it's a true story - just too, too good.

God bless the Minutemen and others like them.

I received the same letter, BZ. Walt brought it to me and asked what I wanted to do and I told him to trash it. I didn't think of writing them though. Great idea and I'm going to follow suit!

Congress has a *job*? I thought they were the pontificationists! All talk and pass the hand out tray and keep on passing it until your wallet ends up on it. Then they send folks over for the shirt off your back... and that's the Republicans! The Democrats hire a guy named 'Guido' to come for arms and legs.

I think I will start taking my cue from a bunch of revolutionaries.Turns out I am *moderate* compared to them....

And how terribly sad, is it not, that we have to rely on the Minutemen, civilians, to do the job that our own FEDERAL system should be doing.

Let me give you an insight about that: all those USBP officers who have graduated from FLETC (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center) in Glynco, GA? They all CAN'T WAIT to enforce each and every law contained in the USC. If officers aren't doing their jobs it's because those HIGHER UP THE RANKS are ORDERING that the USBP and the INS act as they are.

I wonder WHO would be ordering that every law currently in the US Code isn't enforced to the letter?

I'll let YOU provide the answer.

Please excuse my not elaborating.

What I meant is that I wonder when Canada will do ITS'S part to secure the northern border. There are too many in the Federal Gov. up here who refuse to believe that the war on terror is a reality.

What is unbelievable is that of the 18 terrorist suspects arrested, only 2 remain behind bars. The other 16 were granted bail. The Gov't. saying they "hope" that a September the 11th doesn't happen in Canada is ignoring the threat, in my opinion. I'll try to be clearer in the future.

Deborah: granted BAIL? What rocket scientist achieved THAT? But wait, that's racist of me, isn't it, to ASSUME those little darlings will NOT hang around and then show up for their court date? Of course they will!

Dear BZ: Welcome to the reality of the lack of laws which would ensure that persons accused of violent crimes are not granted bail.

Under the Canadian Charter of Rights (Cdn. version of the Constitution, which aids and abets criminals and special interest groups [don't get me started]) denying bail is considered to be "cruel and inhuman punishment". I couldn't make this up if I tried. Our nearly non-existent sentencing laws are one of the reasons so many criminals land in this country...that and the snow, I guess.

Setting bail... hmmm... I suppose it must be a human-possible amount to get to... sooooo... Bill Gates is human! Set it at $80 billion (US). It is:

1) Within his resources,
2) Thusly possible for a mere mortal to get,
3) Justifiable for crimes,
4) Not inhumane! Even Bill Gates can, in theory, make that amount for bail! Probably have to set it at $300 billion to get beyond him...

Remember I was a bureaucrat!

I can help cut red tape... lengthwise...

Know how to tie up any burueaucratic system in knots?

Just read the rules and exploit them!

Remember, Ontario letter carriers never had to go on strike for one, single, solitary day! They just 'worked to the rules' which effectively ended mail for the Province of Ontario while they did so. Got their contract demands right fast that way, too.

I think I'd tape the post paid part of the letter to a brick, with a quick note that its to be used to build the wall.

They'll get the message.

Maybe we should all start sending congressmen bricks.
