Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

TIME TO UNIFY

Last Saturday I wrote: "We can win now folks, and I'll tell you why and how on my next post."

Since then, many have asked what I mean. So here it is:

The time is here. The time is now. The time is nigh on to stop the infighting and to rally around. It's time to take the fight back to the Demorats and go with what we have. It's time to unequivocatedly support the McCain/Palin team. I point to this: If Texas Fred became convinced, the greatest of skeptics, then the difficult point is past us. It's time to kick up the running and passing game, and move off a defensive mindset.

So how do we win? With simple determination. We've got our ticket. We've got the cards we've been dealt; they're not changing. It's simply time to coalesce.

It really is that simple.

Here's our path:

Perseverance. Determination. Single-mindedness.

The McCain/Palin Ticket.

The DEM/MSM attack on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is stark, naked, and absolutely reeks of desperation. And we know it. They know it too.

She has the experience -- much more than Barack Hussein Obama. She literally exudes "change" -- much moreso than Barack Hussein Obama. In the two years she's been governor, she's overthrown the Republican Fat Cats in Alaska and they were pissed because of it. She's gone after corruption -- Barack Hussein Obama has not.

She is everything the Demorats are not, and they are apoplectic because of it.

We have to continue the fight, with cash, on our blogs, with every post, with our contacts in public. We have to unite and rally around this ticket. I've already written my check to the McCain campaign.

Sarah Palin is the Anti-Christ because she essentially came out of nowhere, the DEM/MSM didn't see the pick coming (proving them incompetent once again), she is beholden to NO ONE in the Washington Beltway, she couldn't care less about northeast uppercrust elitist dinner soirees, mingling with the Media Elites over caviar and dry martinis. She's successful, efficient, single-minded, courageous, a hunter, pro-gun, pro-Life, pro-family. That is change you can trust.

As Patrick Buchanan points out:

Liberals howl that Palin has no experience, no qualifications to be president of the United States. But the lady has more executive experience than McCain, Joe Biden and Obama put together.

None of them has ever started or run a business as Palin did. None of them has run a giant state like Alaska, which is larger than California and Texas put together. And though Alaska is not populous, Gov. Palin has as many constituents as Nancy Pelosi or Biden.

The attacks on Sarah Palin will not work. The Left and the DEM/MSM are simply sexists. It is more and more evident. The attacks will simply serve to ensure gritted determination. And I am committed.

PART II - THE SPEECH:

Excerpts from Palin's acceptance speech at the convention Wednesday night:

Our son Track is 19.

And one week from tomorrow - September 11th - he'll deploy to Iraq with the Army infantry in the service of his country.

My nephew Kasey also enlisted, and serves on a carrier in the Persian Gulf.

The intimation that she won't put her money (or her family) where her mouth is: skewered.

A writer observed: "We grow good people in our small towns, with honesty, sincerity, and dignity." I know just the kind of people that writer had in mind when he praised Harry Truman. I grew up with those people.

They are the ones who do some of the hardest work in America ... who grow our food, run our factories, and fight our wars.

Her small city roots and background, her disdain for Big City Elitists: confirmed.

I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a "community organizer," except that you have actual responsibilities. I might add that in small towns, we don't quite know what to make of a candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when those people aren't listening.

We tend to prefer candidates who don't talk about us one way in Scranton and another way in San Francisco.

Not afraid to fire back with a direct assault: confirmed. These were great lines.

But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion - I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country. Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons, and not just to mingle with the right people.

Palin's response to DEM/MSM elitists who are so out of touch with America (and this is confirmed by their dwindling ad revenues and thinning staffs): fuck you. Confirmed.

Sudden and relentless reform never sits well with entrenched interests and power brokers. That's why true reform is so hard to achieve.

But with the support of the citizens of Alaska, we shook things up.

And in short order we put the government of our state back on the side of the people.

I came to office promising major ethics reform, to end the culture of self-dealing. And today, that ethics reform is the law.

While I was at it, I got rid of a few things in the governor's office that I didn't believe our citizens should have to pay for.

That luxury jet was over the top. I put it on eBay.

I also drive myself to work.

And I thought we could muddle through without the governor's personal chef - although I've got to admit that sometimes my kids sure miss her. I came to office promising to control spending - by request if possible and by veto if necessary.

That she is the TRUE agent of REAL change: CONFIRMED.

I fought to bring about the largest private-sector infrastructure project in North American history.

And when that deal was struck, we began a nearly forty billion dollar natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence.

That pipeline, when the last section is laid and its valves are opened, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart.

Concerned about energy and enabling our independence, not afraid to deal directly with the fossil fuel issue and will ACT: confirmed.

But listening to him speak, it's easy to forget that this is a man who has authored two memoirs but not a single major law or reform - not even in the state senate.

This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word "victory" except when he's talking about his own campaign. But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed ... when the roar of the crowd fades away ... when the stadium lights go out, and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot - what exactly is our opponent's plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he's done turning back the waters and healing the planet? The answer is to make government bigger ... take more of your money ... give you more orders from Washington ... and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world. America needs more energy ... our opponent is against producing it.

That she can take it right back to the Obama Camp: confirmed.

Sarah Palin hit this one, last night, right out of the ballpark.

The Demorats and the DEM/MSM are in complete collusion, and both are exhibiting what I term P.S.H. Mode -- they are in the throes of Pants-Shitting Hysteria.

We can do it. We can win.

Moreover, the DEM/MSM know it.

Get that woman through Appalachia talking about her life... light on politics, heavy on life story and why her politics follows from that.

Its a winner.

This only, peripherally, goes after Clintonistas... that sort of story is aimed at the people that the D party and the MSM can't figure out any more. The more you stress culture and how politics grows from that and the D party stresses how politics goes after culture, the better things get and the more the MSM will howl.

Hit.

Hit hard.

Follow-through is required as so many have seen how Sen. McCain has treated his allies in the past. More than good words are needed. There are no free rides in that region... Sen. McCain got his ticket, now he must use it.

Ya know, you're not doing yourself any favors with a few folks by holding me up as an example...

I appreciate it, I really do, and ya know, the more I look at this man, John McCain, the more I KNOW that he IS the one, and Sarah Palin is the one to be VP...

McCain isn't perfect, no candidate will be, but we can't allow Obama to ascend to the Oval Office, no matter what, but I am becoming more comfortable with McCain since his choice of Palin...

All BS aside about her being hot, she is, but that has nothing to do with it, she has more qualifications as POTUS than Obama does, and she is running for VP, what a magnificent learning platform she is on...

McCain isn't my 1st pick, he wasn't my 5th or 6th pick, but he's what we have, and he'll do at LEAST as good as Bush, likely a hell of a lot better in the military department, McCain actually served and led men and suffered at the hands of our enemies, and came through with his will intact, that speaks volumes of the man...

I still think he sides with the Dems a lot more than I would care to see but no matter what he does, it won't be as destructive to this nation as the simple election of Barack Hussein Obama...

As a FAKE Vet, and a paid writer for the Democratic party, and being a person who's ONLY mission in life is to make GWB look bad as I try and destroy the Republican party, YEAH, I do endorse John McCain, he's got to be the one, because O will be the death of us...

Yes, that last part WAS extreme sarcasm...

Fred, you and I have, over the months disagreed and sometimes vehemently over the "stay at home," and "vote a write-in" thing. You were the most skeptical of skeptics. And trust me when I tell you I was NOT convinced that McCain wouldn't pull Lieberman out of his hat. But I insisted then as I insist now that Barack Hussein Obama can in fact be a ruination from which years and numerous terms would be required to recover, particularly regarding SCOTUS. For me, personally, that's always been the largest issue. I can live with certain elements, but I cannot help but attempt to do all possible to ensure an even greater Leftist/Socialist court does not occur. I truly believe that whoever so controls SCOTUS and education controls the future of this country. I held you up as the benchmark for those persons who were focused on dissatisfaction not only with McCain, but with the GOP in general -- because McCain represented a portion of the "wrong turn" nature and the "vectored" nature of Conservatism. Suddenly we ALL found ourselves massively disappointed when we HAD the damned power but utterly FAILED to WIELD THE POWER WE HAD. We were afraid; we cowered; we pulled most ALL our punches. Shame the fuck on US!

Consequently, here we sit, the House and Senate about to lurch HARD aport, and a massive Socialist gnawing at the eaves of the White House portico.

So that is how I viewed you in benchmark skeptic terms; if you and all the Texas Freds in the nation come over and unify, well, then, THAT'S the reason the DEM/MSM display their massive PSH Mode. And I can't help but think it will hold them in NO good stead.

Yeah, McCain is irritating as hell but, like you, I'm looking for the future as well. And the future, sir, MAY look something like this:

Imagine, if you will, in 2012 when the McCain Administration decides that one term is sufficient -- who do you think just MIGHT be displayed on Front Street to fight against -- ? None other than HRC. Now THAT'd be a Battle Royale, and I wouldn't consider H quite up to the fight after FOUR years of "EXPERIENCE" under Palin's belt.

BZ, I can say this for a sure and certain fact, I voted for Bush both times, and felt that I was voting for nothing less than the lesser of the evils...

I was feeling the same way about McCain, but no longer, he's not perfect but I really think there's a lot more to that man than appears at 1st glance...

I have made some harsh statements regarding Bush, and I make NO apology to ANYONE for them, but I am pretty convinced that McCain is going to be a hell of a lot better for this nation than Bush EVER was...

He damn sure has a lot better taste in VP running mates...

All I want to know is: IS Sarah Palin a better shot than Cheney?

I agree with you BZ, and for the last couple of months I ahve held my tongue or unleashed it toward NOT divulging my vote until game day, I held on to hope that McCain would show some intelligent PRESIDENTIAL insight and pick a strong VP, he did.
I felt Lieberman would have gave the WH to Obama.

Enough said I am fully on board with this ticket, I am writing checks, I am placing signs and I am telling everyone I know to vote McCain/Palin in Nov.

TF: agreed. There IS no "perfect" candidate for most anyone. McCain has ticked me off to the Nth degree on any number of occasions BUT I've ordered my sign and my bumper sticker and button and they're going on my HOUSE and my CAR and my PERSON. All the OBAMA '08 bumper stickers on VW transporters and thrashed Subarus are about to be countered.

Last night when I watched, with my 2.5 Y.O. daughter, Governor Palin speak, I could not help but the think my daughter will be able to say that she say the first woman, and one of the longest sitting presidents to make her first great speech.

It is a reasonable possibility that McCain will not live, or be fit to see the end of his 4 year term. I also can't help but to think that Sarah Palin will catch the country's imagination beyond that of Reagan. And thus be elected, at least once.

At least I hope so.

I too am going to send their campaign what I can. I might not be able to vote (yet), but I will support Sarah Palin!

And two other notions for y'all. According to RedState, she was without a teleprompter for the latter half of the speech, guess the idiot controlling the scrolling was not doing such a good job. I was wondering how much she was using it, as she, and Rudy, spent a lot of time looking forward to the audience and camera, instead of to the side. As well I think she looked down once or twice to check on her notes. In short, she is very impressive, at least to me.

Secondly, I was listening to radio a bit over the last couple of days, and I think it was Hanady's show, he was talking to a member of the campaign policy committee, the committee member said he was amazed at how little McCain's advisers where balking at the social conservative changes that where being suggested. He really expected the final campaign to swing to the right. I hope that is true, I really do.

cheers,
Tom

You know how I know Sarah Palin did good?

Her counterpart on the liberal ticket is heaping praise on her, and all he can talk about is what Sarah DIDN'T say, that to me is confirmation that ALL she did say was correct.

I believe one candidate above all other has the character of his convictions and that would be John McCain. Whether or not I agree with all of those convictions. Obama I think is the poll candidate, he's one that will make decisions based on polls.
Say what you will about GWB, and I have been as harsh of a critic as most, but he is not governed by polls, he acted as he believed was the right thing to do... WRONG IMO a good part of the time...

Sometimes what people think they want is not what the really want.

I had a nice discussion with an Obama supporter, he was for Gubmint Health Care, then I mentioned some government ran entities.. his tune is changing rapidly.

Wordsmith, those are the accusations that were made against me simply because I accepted an apology from a man, on a man to man basis, and one old crone went apeshit because of it, considered it a personal affront to her so-called dignity..

She tried to have people boycott my blog, tried to kill my blog rolls and told several outright lies about me and my politics, not to mention my service to this nation...

Had her buddy Amy come to MY blog and attack the wife of a retired Marine friend of mine, knowing that I would take HIS side of things, and I did...

She told people I was a traitor to this nation simply because I wouldn't kiss Bush's ass and support the war in Iraq... I still think Iraq was the wrong place and the wrong time, but I can tell you this, I have spent more time in Iraq and Afghanistan than she can ever dream of...

And I still think Bush was full of shit for taking us to Iraq, and I don't care if it harelips the Pope...

Ya know, somehow, I just don't take kindly to asshole backstabbers that do that kind of shit, and damn near everyone that posts comments here has seen it for what it is and laughs at her behind her back, I'm the ONLY one that will say it in the open, us FAKE Vets have always been cowards like that...

And I don't care whether she is happy if I personally approve of McCain or not, but I will continue to bring this up on occasion, when MY name is mentioned in one of her comments, and it will happen until such time as I get a PUBLIC apology for calling me a traitor, a FAKE Vet, a paid writer for the Dems that was set on destroying the Repubs and Bush... Here on BZ's blog will work... Then I will let it go and ignore the old 2 faced bat as she deserves...

But I won't call her name, because she knows who I'm talking about, right Gayle??

Oops...
