(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

VP Debate

Election day is 32 days away.

I happened to, for the first few minutes, watch the VP debate via FoxNews, then I spent the rest of the debate upstairs composing this post, listening over the internet via streaming.

Therefore, my comments are predicated upon hearing the debate as opposed to watching the debate.

At first blush it appeared, literally, that Gov. Palin was initially speaking from memorization. Five or ten minutes into the debate, she became more assured and comfortable.

In my opinion, Gov. Palin more than held her own with regards to the energy questions, but one would expect that. She caught Biden in the "there is no such thing as clean coal" lie.

Obama and Biden do not support Gay Marriage? Oh my, there will be fallout from that via the Radical Left on Friday.

Further, the Cheney/unhinged/devil/VP bullsh*#? Not even remotely palatable.

Overall impression: Gov. Palin was more "scripted" than Sen. Biden. HOWEVER, two points:

1. I think Biden likes Palin -- and that is a thing one cannot quantify in polls;
2. Biden is more "slick" -- smooth and accomplished -- and that is to be expected on one level yet -- in my opinion, Palin held her own. She is simply more real.

Biden did well. But Sarah Palin held her own. Relatively speaking.

I'm sorry, but Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is simply more real, more fresh. Sure, throw a bit of naivete in there as well. But still, in terms of overall philosophies, I'll take her and McCain over Obama/Biden any damned day of the week.

She didn't run circles around Biden, as I'll bet a number of Conservative talkers will allege on Friday. However, I'll still take the neophyte over the hack. And backed with philosophical differences.

Let me write this: when placed against the best the Demorats have to offer, she was not found much wanting.

Nice job, Sarah.

But I still ask: WHY will NO Republican GO for the jugular -- when it is so clearly exposed by the Demorats? Talk about HUD! Talk about FM/FM! Advocate the complete death of all GSEs starting with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac!

Additionally -- I found myself liking Joe Biden much more than Barack Hussein Obama. And, oddly enough, I managed to get into the Hugh Hewitt show to express my feelings aurally regarding the debate.

Now -- let the MainStreamMedia (MSM)/Defeatist Elitist Media (DEM) whining, bitching, judgmentalism, defeatism commence.

Rob and I were IMing during and after, Biden made a few points, Palin made several. I feel she did OK, not stellar, not a disaster by any means...

A winner?? Neither... A good debate I feel, and all in all, Biden is still a douchebag and Palin radiates honesty, at least to me...

I've never seen a debate between two liberals before. It would have been nice to see a Conservative and a Liberal go at it.

Oh well, there's always 2012.

As I said a while back, neither of em, now all 4 of em really belong where they are..

If this is the best America has to offer, we are SO screwed...

And after the Senate vote on the Bailout, I think McCain is still exactly what I said he was, a VERY poor representative of RINOs, he is more Dem than some Dems...

But look at the bright side, Sarah has 4 years to get her act together, Obama, if elected, won't see a 2nd term, not if America hasn't totally lost it's freaking mind...

TF: my conclusion. She's simply More Real. He's slick, she's a neophyte, but we NEED to see MORE of her on the GOP campaign trail!!

Cut to the chase: Obama and his campaign is simply a piece of fecal material. Biden found himself "handled" and that is SO embarrassing.

Palin-Liberal??? Lets see, she hunts, she is for drilling in ANWAR, she is against abortion, she is for religion to be given equal time in schools.

Those are not LIBERAL tendencies. While I agree McCain fits the bill I disagree strongly that Palin does.

My thinking is contrast:
Obama, Biden, Pelosi or McCain, PALIN, Pelosi, is there a voice of reason in there anywhere? A contrasting opinion? YES and it is ONE person. Palin.

I am not a strong supporter of McCain, I am going to vote for him I wont be too upset if we have a woman president sooner than 2012

Additionally -- I found myself liking Joe Biden much more than Barack Hussein Obama.

It was the cordiality between them. A conservative single mom friend of mine as well as her 11 year old daughter actually liked both of them, because of their debate performance, which didn't show personal hostility.

What hour of Hugh's program were you on?

Palin is by far the best of the four. By the time her day is over America as a whole will love her.

If she supported McCain on his Bailout vote, she's not a conservative.......

That is unless you have a kid that buys wooden arrows.

There's not a Conservative in this race, it's time to face the facts.

Voting for McCain to keep Obama out is one thing but please, don't call McCain-Palin Conservatives.

If she was a true Conservative she would have thrown McCain under the bus when he voted "YES" for the bail out.

Yeah Ranando that would be a real life good way to do it....LOL
But lets step into reality, Palin doesn't have a vote on this bill, She is not a senator. She is seeking a ride on the coat tails of a faux Conservative, and SHE is the reason I am supporting that ticket.

Facing facts? You should too, we don't have a MODEL conservative in this race, we haven't had one since Reagan (Even Reagan was questioned prior to his election and after) So sitting it out rather than picking one or the other is not constructive. But it's your right.

I, of course, have already said I would vote for Gov. Palin as she aligns more with my values and has more Executive experience than any of the House of Elder Emirs. I liked a few thing Reagan said, and very little of some of the things he did do and those things he *didn't* do that he said he would do. Ronald Reagan is not my touchstone: a good man, yes, but deeply flawed.

If the Republicans could support that shift in culture away from McCain and towards the blue collar to small business side and showing how they are all part of the same spectrum that is better served by small government, accountable government and lean government, then it would have a long-term winning proposition and break the stranglehold of the Democratic party in the Rust Belt and Appalachia. Sen. McCain is the unfortunate one who must see this, and he is blinded by decades of 'bipartisanship' to not see an ill-served community that is willing to hold to a small government ideal if it could now find a party to back that. I do have problems with Gov. Palin, but she is a step in the right direction and away from 'maverickism' and 'reformism'. Reforming government gets you large, inefficient and wasteful government to oversee those reforms... and then, soon, overseers for the overseers... and Congress being unaccountable and causing more 'reform'.

You cannot get from where we are to that path without, at some point, saying good-bye to 'reformers' and welcoming in those who will want small government and less government and more accountable government. And that is something that no Republican has *ever* done by carrying through their lovely words and actually cutting away at the damned government.

You do not get by on good ideas.

You do not get by in *not* instituting those good ideas.

You do not get by without putting lots of hard work in to make sure those ideas stick.

I can't vote for any of the Senators as they don't hold one conservative value that should be near and dear to all conservatism: showing up for work every day and putting in an honest day's work.

Not doing that is called: Elitist.

Voting in and accepting a 4-day work week for CONGRESS, as was done under Republicans is: Elitist. You gave good cover to the Democrats to move it down to a 3-day week.

Gov. Palin shows up for work every day, and so does her husband and they know it is tough when times get rough and you don't have a job to go to so as to do that.

If you can't even dare to espouse basic conservative ideals and hold your elected representatives to them, then *why* should anyone be impressed with your ideals?

You don't mean them.

I *do*, I *state them*, I hold *myself* to them even know when I am physically unable to do very much. I expect the exact, same thing from those I put down my vote for or they do not *get* my vote. That means that the slackluster Liberals get office positions so that they can get power to slack off and order others around to do their dirty work. That could be stopped by elected representatives holding to their ideals, and actually *working* at the damned jobs they *volunteered for* and *willingly*.

Gov. Palin winds hands-down with that. In spades.

The Senators?

Elitists, one and all.

You cannot roll-back Liberalism by claiming it is too tough to do so, and then slack off at the job and then start acting like them. You want to roll it back? Then elect people who will damned well stand up for a 5-day Congressional work week, who will work at least 8 hour days, and who will make sure that anyone who tries to slack off is noticed and put on record as such. The first person to do that will have a full time job in just doing *that*, but it will be a very, very, very good job. Count hours, name the names, and show how much these elected representatives don't give a damn about the common man.

That sort of culture can do this... not a party, but a culture. And that culture is one that has conservative ideals as its outgrowth, no matter how imperfect the persons are who are running. You will know they show up for work every day, don't slack off and force the Liberals to work *harder than they do* to get anywhere.

I can and will vote for that in a heartbeat.

Palin= Honesty and REAL. She WILL do what she says. Refreshing, servant of the people more than herself, accomplished, remarkably confident and ready DESPITE all the odds being against her, rated top Governor in America, more executive experience in her pinky than Biden and Obama combined.

Biden= Washington establishment, elitist, do nothing, a walking- "talking point", self-serving,liar.

Those were my thoughts.

BIden didn't win on substance because all his 'substance' was lacking substance because it isn't true. They will do none of what they speak of and they are just spouting out what they think the people want to hear.

Bush,

I want to make sure I understand what you’re saying, please correct me if I don’t.

You’re going to vote for a candidate that voted for the bailout that turns our country into a Socialist Country. A vote that you don’t agree with because he has a running mate that supports him on voting for the bailout that you don’t agree with. Because he’s running against a candidate that wants to turn our country into a Socialist Country.

Please, who’s the Conservative in this picture? McCain? Palin? Obama? Biden?

There are only 15 Conservatives in this country, the 15 Republicans that voted NO for the bailout, no less no more.

I will be writing-in one of those true Republican Conservatives. I say NO to anyone that voted for this bill and NO to anyone that supported anyone voting for this bill. That is the way you get Conservatives attention that is the way you tell them you’ve had enough and you tell them they had better get their act together or you’ll do it again in 2012.

BZ, I agree with your take - I thought Palin did a fine job, considering. And I really did find myself liking Biden more than I thought I would - the Democrats would have a lot better chance at my vote if he was heading the ticket. Of course maybe I was seeing him on his best behavior . . . one of my sons who has a good head on his shoulders (yes, I am biased, but still) likes Biden so I agreed to have an open mind. Sarah is doing a great job - Alaska can isolate your thinking, in some ways, and she has had to globalize in a hurry. If the country doesn't want her, I'd be thrilled to have her back running the state!

Well up until this vote Ranando I thought there were a lot more.. Did you notice that ONE of the guys we hoped would win voted YEA? Tom Tancredo.

Biden, Obama, and McCain all voted for it, Palin didn't and truthfully I believe if she had a vote she wouldn't have....I have that luxury like I had it before I found out about Tancredo...

Hunter voted against it, BUT so did Kucinich, so is Kucinich a conservative now? I mean different folks voted voted for it or against based on their constituents and their beliefs...
THE difference between this bill and the ILLEGAL Immigration bill, was THE Calls and Faxes quit being ONE sided, folks are hurting and it is human nature to try and help....

This bill has a lot of BULLSHIT in it.. I think something had to be done, and I dont like how it was done. I wanted them to take their time and fix the flaws Except if they took MORE time it would end up 700 billion pages....

The fact is YOU are right, We do not have a CONSERVATIVE in the race, WE don't so sit out if that's your desire... I will not, I don't want Obama in the Whitehouse for the very reason Folks like you berate Palin. the argument of "experience" is a piss poor one if you only apply it to the VP...

So yeah I am going to vote McCain not happily, but because we have no choice, I would vote Palin because SHE didn't vote for this and she is on the republican ticket...

Bush, Great response. I agree. I for one am frustrated at Bush, McCain, Obama and the whole 'bailout' lot.

Regarding palin, she didn't vote for it and I agree, based on her record in Alaska, she wouldn't have supported it because she is totally against abuse of the taxpayer's money. She has to go along with it because she is McCain's V.P. Also with Global warming. During the debate she 'inferred' it was man-made, but said she 'personally' thinks it is cyclical more so than anything we have done to cause it. I am sorry, but she has guts. I haven't heard ONE politician from Washington say that.
