(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Geometric Danger

Now, it turns out, Hamas is purposely targeting a nuclear power reactor in Israel (as captured by above photo) with its rockets, mortars and weapons:

There were growing fears in Israel last night that Hamas missiles could threaten its top-secret nuclear facility at Dimona.

Rocket attacks from Gaza have forced Israelis to flee in ever greater numbers and military chiefs have been shaken by the size and sophistication of the militant group’s arsenal.

Israeli officials say that Hamas has also acquired dozens of Iranian-made Fajr-3 missiles with an even longer range. Many fear that as the group acquires ever more sophisticated weaponry it is only a matter of time before the nuclear installation at Dimona, 20 miles east of Beersheba, falls within its sights. Dimona houses Israel’s only nuclear reactor and is believed to be where nuclear warheads are stored.

And consider this very important paragraph from the Times UK story:

Israel’s worst nightmare is that soon all its cities will be within range either of the Hezbollah Katyushas arrayed on the Lebanese border to the north or the increasingly sophisticated missiles stockpiled by Hamas to the south. Both groups have links to Israel’s archenemy Iran.

Do you understand the strategic point made? Israel is soon to be caught directly between two hostile Islamist forces, like a pincer movement, Hezbollah on the north and Hamas to the south, both armed with missiles able to strike any point within Israel.

Much of this predicament, unfortunately, is of Israel's doing.

Despite that, Israel is massing troops, tanks and weapons, ready to enter Gaza.

In concert with the larger, more deadly rockets deployed against Israel, Hamas vowed to "strike at Zionist interests everywhere."

Finally, it appears, Israelis have had enough:

A majority of the Israeli public is supporting the Gaza offensive, with some 95 percent of Jewish residents backing the air strikes according to a survey published on Friday in the Maariv daily.

The situation is about to get even more dangerous, very, very quickly.

Lots of info - thanks! I've been away from the TV most of the day time to catch up. Anxious to hear what those in my synagogue have to say tomorrow. Thanks for your support and all your info. Time to listen to Israeli news too.

I have also been away from the TV, BZ, and thank you for the information too.

It's about time Israel went for it. I hope they are successful and take Hamas off the map!

If there happens to be a so-called "inadvertent" rocket strike on the nuclear facility, it would obviously affect Muslims and Jews alike for miles and years, depending upon the prevailing winds, if any. Radiation can be quite the religion-free killer.

Ang: Don't know where you live, but I'll bet not everyone in your synagogue supports this action. I would be curious about that.

Well, I am already called a racist for my *kill em all and let allah sort em out* philosophy so, here goes again: IF Israel feels that their nuclear facility is threatened, take the attack to ALL of Palestine, so hard, and SO SEVERE, that you truly will kill em all and I don't give a damn if allah sorts the bastards or not...

Quite true, Fred. As Bushwack recently wrote: turn things to rubble and, then, make the rubble bounce.

I am ALL for that in this instance. A line has been drawn and I think Israel has finally recognized that line. I can only hope they haven't waited TOO long to react.

One should never wish death on another but when one is threatened, especially by massive death, then one has the right to defend oneself and one's nation. If they are shooting at you, or your loved ones, then you have the right to shoot back. Israel definitely has the right to start serious shooting.

I just hope they don't give in to the PC assholes at the UN that think Israel is the aggressor in this case, they are NOT...

Israel has sat back and took for far too long. Paybacks are a bitch...

And Shop, it may not be right to wish death on others, but you have NEVER thought I was right anyway...

FUCK Palestine and every rag wearing cock roach in the place! KILL EM ALL, that effectively removes the threat and then Iran will realize that their life line is about as long as a pissants memory...

In this instance, can't say I pretty much disagree with anything you say, TF.

It's simply a matter of survival.

The cancer won't cure itself. Israel has to surgically remove every bit of it. They have to do what they HAVE to do, UN be damned!

Looking at the crap coming from D.C. I'd say Israel has proved that it can handle the U.N.. Their biggest problem is going to be American stupidity in D.C. You know G.W. is pressuring the crap outta them to cool it til he get's out of office.

I'm personally sick of this crap. Let Israel do what it does best, kick ass and take names. Note to Syrians in Palestine: Eviction notices are in the mail. U-hauls to follow. Everyone who stays better find a deep dark hole and pull it in after them.

It may be that Israel is doing its best to stop and out right bombardment of Gaza. I can't help but to think Humas, with Iran's help, is going to take that step over the line in their complexity. Sadly their movement towards that line appears to still be accelerating.

Once at that line, Israel will be forced to remove the gloves! If Israel can't surgically hit the rocket launchers and Humas soldiers they will be forced to stop being Mr. Nice Guy.

Iran is a true puppet master, and Israel must absolutely hate the fact that the rest of the world is looking the other way.

I have to imagine the nuclear facility has an anti-missile system and should be able to protect the site against almost any salvo Humas could put up.

But, if Humas manages to drop a rocket into a populated area and kill 300+ people I think, at least really hope that is what it will take for Israel to pull back the troops and let their air force and rockets do all that they can.

Sadly, we have the same problem, it is going to take a firefight in one of our cities, with 10's, if not hundreds killed before we start to control the war on our Southern border.

Yep they had a golden opportunity when they had Hezbollah by the balls a while ago. But thanks to that useless parasite Olmert, more and more people will have to die needlessly.
