(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

America Stood UP

. . . and defeated the Socialist version of ObamaKare.

For now.

The Obama White House was forced -- forced -- to take the so-called "government option" off the table though Our Hero refuses to verbally acknowledge. His spin: "this was only one aspect of healthcare." Yeah. Right.

Kent Conrad (D) today revealed there never were sufficient Senate votes to force ObamaKare.

And by relenting, Mr Obama has resoundingly pissed off the Hard Left on many fronts.

No matter.

Mr Obama is privately seething and screaming. 89% of the "stimulus" monies have yet to be spent.

He was also forced -- forced -- to remove flag@whitehouse.gov. Even an ACLU spokesman on FoxNews Monday indicated this was a patently illegal move by Our Hero.

In the meantime, the Canadian healthcare system -- held out by Our Hero as a wonderful model to pattern -- is in critical trouble.

And the bulk of Demorats will vote against your best interests. They will vote for Our Hero.

Mr Obama, according to Rasmussen, is down to a 47% approval rating. And let us remember: this only in six months.

A majority of Americans believe that Mr Obama's so-called "stimulus" has had no effect on the economy or has even made the economy worse.

A majority oppose ObamaKare. But if you think Our Hero and his minions will lie down and recede, you're sorely mistaken.

It's ALL about "single payer." It's ALL about the GOVERNMENT running your healthcare.

This is NO time to recede and stand back. Most any version of ObamaKare will send elderly people to an early grave. As well as those not carrying Prime Perfect Genes. You may not care now in your twenties. Just you wait. Time will occur.

A "tactical retreat" does not a defeat make.

Keep up. Keep on. Do not diminish. Keep your eyes up. Don't smoke the opium.

Let's hope this trend in negative poll numbers peaks during election time. Can't arrive soon enough!

Ah, you're a real creep using that picture. And, I've got news for you. A Public Option will pass. WTF, you guys work for big insurance companies? You really don't give a shit about your families well being, do you?

Some say the damage he does before 2010 with health care and amnesty, buying companies, etc., could be something America never recovers from...it almost feels like he's trying to bring us down, doesn't it.

And, there are some saying he's retreating from the NO PUBLIC OPTION stuff already. We REALLY have to keep our eyes open and hope SOMEBODY reads the final bill before they vote for it....

WHY can't the left understand we want things fixed, not a complete overhaul!? I blame the media, they've never mentioned the terrific ideas for fixing healthcare the Republicans have, either..........it's ALL OR NOTHING, and that's STUPID.

Don't go to sleep yet. There's another HELLthKare fix suggestion out there now; a "cooperative". Sound like FannieMae & FreddieMac? Remember how the gov't "didn't" get involved with them? (big fat NOT).
This is just another end-run-around creeping incremental gov't involvement.

JUST SAY NO!

Too many patients + too few doctors = rationed care.

There are no incentives to get more doctors in any health care 'reform'. Those that practice medicine do not want to be bureaucrats for government nor suffer the 'suggestions' of government. When government can make decisions about how much care there is and who will get it, that is rationing by bureaucracy.

To bring down costs there must be tort reform, and end the spiraling cost of malpractice suits, particularly subjective pain & suffering awards. If medical care is an investment in future health, treat it like one and allow investment in care.

For competition we need to remove subsidies to health care, remove supports from big business, and provide supports to the most efficient part of the market which sits outside government and business. The part that works to cut costs and deliver top notch services to the poor. The one we discriminate against by subsidies to big business and insurance companies. The ones that Americans are used to giving to and running for the social and public good of all citizens. No one on the Left or Right will talk about them or support them.

Government, at best, wastes 35% of every dollar spent on overhead for non-service and non-productive items. Industry comes in at 20% on average. This segment gets between 7-15% and some drive down into the low single digits. If you want affordable care, managed care that gives the poor good treatment and charges otherw what they can afford, then this is the segment that we must support.

But no one will endorse that, wanting National Markets and National Oversight for something that is purely local. I have problems with liberals and conservatives on this: they are both so warped with government that they cannot see beyond government. They are blind, both, when it goes to government and industry as the only talking points - those are lies by omission. We cannot get good and responsive care for the poor until we give incentives to get that... and government can play a role by getting out of the way.

How many readers here have ever been to a Socialist country?

I've been to many and I can tell you that the USA is just fine. Not Socialist and never will be, it will never happen.

I'm amazed how people who have everything are so stupid.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, ObamaCare in any form is never going to happen. Yet those with everything do all the scearmimg while those with nothing set by the side-lines.

Anonymous: a creep? Me? Really? You ever get out and read anything other than Kos? You read about how Mr Obama is in bed with Big Pharma on this bill, how he just guaranteed that the government competition -- i.e., purchasing power -- will NOT ruin the amounts that pharma can charge on their drugs? That he promised he WON'T drive down their prices?

And no, I don't work for an insurance company. I just want to keep what I've GOT because I LIKE it, and I don't want to discourage future educated people from becoming doctors, and I DON'T want my healthcare RATIONED and I don't want to be shuttled to the side and told that, simply due to my age, I just don't matter anymore.

Z puts it succinctly: you don't have to tear it all down in order to fix it. One of the first places to start that Mr Obama LACKS the COURAGE to address is in TORT REFORM for one. But no, he's also in the pocket of TRIAL LAWYERS.

Ranando: okay. Then I can only hope you're correct.

So, the President holds meetings with Big Pharma and Big Insurance to cut backroom deals and this is blamed on conservatives and Republicans?

The large corporate interests have a vested interest in regulation and ensuring market share: this creates a barrier to entry so that their positions will NOT be attacked. When a President cuts deals with such firms for regulations that do that very thing, that is not encouraging diversity and increasing competition but reducing both.

That is why Big Pharma has taken out a $150 million ad buy in support of the legislation: they get guaranteed market share, mark-ups and purchase political clout at the high end while shafting the american citizens who get no competition worth talking about.

If you want to get competition in, then guarantee no market share, remove the subsidies to Big Pharma and Big Insurance via the tax code, treat health care as an investment not a service, and get tax breaks for donating to charity which will serve the poor and means test everyone else. That creates a social safety net supported by the people so that it can be done efficiently. Plus end the pain & suffering lottery system for malpractice and cap such suits for actually fixing the malpractice and hold insurance companies liable for anyone permanently disabled by such.

But then that introduces competition, supports the poor and uninsured, steadies the playing field, curbs increased costs due to malpractice suits and puts government in its role of encouragine competition and NOT draining money from the economy to do so.

But then no one on the Right or Left actually wants to end that money flow and influence such large corporations have at the expense of the common man. Making a failing system larger is not fixing it but making the situation worse. To do something different one must actually DO something different.

To be honest, I'm amazed. He's got 60 votes in the Senate, plus some liberal Republicans, what would seem a lock and a Democrat controlled House. This should be a cake walk for him.

Yet, never underestimate the power of the people. But you are also right, in that we can't let up, we need to keep lighting that fire under their asses.
