Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Keep Focused!

At the same time that various townhall meetings are dealing with the issue of ObamaKare, please do not forget that the Demorats "multi-task" in terms of killing our nation, and are continuing to push Cap & Tax as well.

A new analysis of Cap & Tax, published in The Hill.com, indicates:

Add another climate bill cost estimate to the growing pile.

The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the American Council for Capital Formation (ACCF) released a study Wednesday that found under a high-cost scenario the House global warming bill could reduce economic growth by 2.4 percent and cost 2 million jobs by 2030.

Plus:

But the business groups’ figures will likely provide opponents of capping carbon more ammunition and could add to the angst of senators from industrial states. One key finding is that the climate bill will hurt the manufacturing sector particularly hard. As much as 66 percent of the total job loss from the climate bill could come from manufacturers, the report notes.

And though the impact of the bill will grow over time, the economy will start feeling the effects of the carbon cap almost immediately.

“Industrial production begins to decline immediately in 2012, relative to the baseline,” the report notes.

So come on, America, strike to! Do your bit! Let's make sure that damned near all of our manufacturing and heavy industry jobs are offshored, and then let's kill all our domestic energy production!

Our Hero demands it so!

Hail!

BZ,
The media is complicit in this further theft of our country's assets. The days of the daily drumbeat against anything done by Repubs and Bush is now nowhere to be found.

Deaths of servicemen in Afghanistan are at alarming levels. The silence of the anti-war lefties is deafening and the MSM are AWOL. Obama has barely acknowledged this. Out of sight out of mind. Shameful.

Anon, your comments on all the various conservative blogs are always so well thought-out and articulate.

I know you are but what am I?

This information is barely out there and Americans need to wake up, And "keep focused", you're right..but.....
Law & Order is right; even today the msm's on Cheney and Bush, suggesting Cheney is the first VP to speak up after leaving office. I guess they've forgotten Gore, huh? I wish I COULD.
BUSH BUSH BUSH BUSH, they still can't get over it. Mark Sanford abused his plane (odd way to put that, but..!) and it was on Yahoo headlines ALL DAY SUNDAY while Obama in Mexico was a headline for an hour, Afghanistan was there for an hour...Sanford, ALL DAY. Republican DOES BAD! (it was on again Monday!)

But, let our soldiers be dying in larger numbers because America's lost her edge, the world knows we're weaker, and WHO CARES?

I'll be talking about the media on Gathering Storm radio tomorrow...(Always ON Watch's radio show)..I hope you can listen. 3:30 EST.

Mr. Z - That is it exactly.

Calm the emotions, take stock of the situation and keep your aim true.

Then you can be inventive when thinking about things and not worry about just what is proposed but about what we really do need. Strange that those wanting to help the poor want the most inefficient group in the Nation to do that... tell you what, lets help the most efficient and dedicated to do it and leave government out of the equation? Because if you really want to help the poor, the idea is to actually help them, and work to support those who can and do just that thing. Reward those that do this and encourage others to do so... they are efficient, cost effective, and compete like no one's business. Because they aren't business or government. And we should all be looking to support that, no?

When I was a store manager we had this one guy at our main office who was little more than a cheerleader for an inept Chief Operating Officer. He would send video tapes of "interviews" with various people in our main office and you could tell they were scripted and rehearsed and they were kidding no one. That is the kind of interview the Idiot in Chief wants.

I thought this would be fun, if nothing else to see the reaction.

"A Day in the Life of Joe Middle-Class Republican"
*
Joe gets up at 6:00am to prepare his morning coffee. He fills his pot full of good clean drinking water because some liberal fought for minimum water quality standards. He takes his daily medication with his first swallow of coffee. His medications are safe to take because some liberal fought to insure their safety and work as advertised.
All but $10.00 of his medications are paid for by his employers medical plan because some liberal union workers fought their employers for paid medical insurance, now Joe gets it too. He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs this day. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.
Joe takes his morning shower reaching for his shampoo; His bottle is properly labeled with every ingredient and the amount of its contents because some liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained. Joe dresses, walks outside and takes a deep breath. The air he breathes is clean because some tree hugging liberal fought for laws to stop industries from polluting our air. He walks to the subway station for his government subsidized ride to work; it saves him considerable money in parking and transportation fees. You see, some liberal fought for affordable public transportation, which gives everyone the opportunity to be a contributor.
Joe begins his work day; he has a good job with excellent pay, medicals benefits, retirement, paid holidays and vacation because some liberal union members fought and died for these working standards. Joe’s employer pays these standards because Joe’s employer doesn’t want his employees to call the union. If Joe is hurt on the job or becomes unemployed he’ll get a worker compensation or unemployment check because some liberal didn’t think he should lose his home because of his temporary misfortune.
Its noon time, Joe needs to make a Bank Deposit so he can pay some bills. Joe’s deposit is federally insured by the FDIC because some liberal wanted to protect Joe’s money from unscrupulous bankers who ruined the banking system before the depression.
Joe has to pay his Fannie Mae underwritten Mortgage and his below market federal student loan because some stupid liberal decided that Joe and the government would be better off if he was educated and earned more money over his life-time.
Joe is home from work, he plans to visit his father this evening at his farm home in the country. He gets in his car for the drive to dads; his car is among the safest in the world because some liberal fought for car safety standards. He arrives at his boyhood home. He was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans. The house didn’t have electric until some big government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification. (Those rural Republican’s would still be sitting in the dark)
He is happy to see his dad who is now retired. His dad lives on Social Security and his union pension because some liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to. After his visit with dad he gets back in his car for the ride home.
He turns on a radio talk show, the host’s keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good. (He doesn’t tell Joe that his beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day) Joe agrees, "We don’t need those big government liberals ruining our lives; after all, I’m a self made man who believes everyone should take care of themselves, just like I have".

Hey BZ, its been a while for me. I have been reading for weeks but have had no time to respond, sorry. I have something important I think you and your readers need to read. Great post by the way and why can't the Dems come up with anything good to fire back at. Its all on emotion and not logic. How do they expect to run the country if they can't even run VA correctly. I'm going online with my phone so this comment is pretty limited. Please copy and paste this link to a fellow vet friend of mine who's blog you have read before. The information/posts of the last two times are very good.

BZ, I'm not sure tax and trade has a snowball's chance in Hell. People are SO up in arms over the health care plan, I think the anger will carry over to carbon. After all, it is an even bigger waste with a lot less perceived value to it.

Not to worry, I'm sure big oil will sponsor tea baggers and feed them the same type of lies they are doing on the health issue. And the lemmings will buy it because they will believe any lies as long as there is a healthy does of hate and fear. And again, in the long run, they are the ones who be screwed.

Anonymous: that's odd; the only public dosages of hate and fear that I read and hear seem to be coming from the lips of Pelosi and Reid, et al, noting "unpatriotic Americans" who deign to actually disagree with Our Hero and his policies. . .

Ranando - Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac are asking for yet more money, and they were the ones sponsoring the idea that people without the means to pay for homes should get loans. That from 1992 onwards. The problem that caused in the housing market is well known and we have seen its effects. Joe might have had to wait a year to get it privately to get a downpayment - would that be so bad?

Clean water was fought for on many levels and not just by the Left. Still there was no mandate for NYC to get clean water for its population before that and it did so as it was a civic priority. Can we take pride in local government that addressed the needs of their people BEFORE the Left sponsored it?

Paid medical insurance is subsidized by the government. We now get the problems of subsidies: uneconomic use of the resource and rising costs. Before the 1940's there were no subsidies and no health insurance and yet people still got treated at hospitals run by charities. Now we reduce the tax incentive to give to charities and rely more on government, is this a good thing? Mind you, government, at its best, only wastes 35% of its cash, while charity, at its worse, comes in under 15% with business in between at 20%. Which of the three would you rather see providing health care to the poor?

The Left is fighting to take the bacon and eggs off Joe's table.

Labeling laws came into being before 1910, can we give Republicans some credit on that as it was TR who sponsored it? Mind you he was a Progressive, but the modern Left doesn't want to claim him very much... supported war and all that fun stuff.

The air he breathes is cleaner! Mostly because is it is inefficient to pollute and it took civic organizations pointing that out to convince business to start changing its ways. Some didn't and it got booted up to the federal level. How are the superfund cleanups coming? Past 10% yet? Meanwhile nuclear reactors could provide non-polluting power but the Left just doesn't like them, can we ding them for that, too and NOT taking tons of pollutants out of the air?

The Left wants you to believe they are the marvels of the modern era, yet they leave us with higher taxes, less charity, a meaner society, and more power in the hands of government that has less oversight and accountability to it than either business or charity. When they move to take your liberty for you in the promise of security, you are also in Ben Franklin's warning zone... but they won't tell you that.

Yeah I ding the Right for its problems, too.

I seem to be seeing a different history of the US when not looking through the lovely glasses of the Left and Right. And the heavy hand of authority wants to punch us right between the eyes, but the glasses don't let you see that. It is best to study history, not parrot talking points of ideologs. I've gotten it from both 'sides' doing that. And it means I have to ask if what I am given in any way resembles what went on... the answer is coming to be, increasingly, no. I'm starting to really not like that. And I think a few other people are getting likewise fed up with it.

BZ, I agree. We will need to be intensely focused for a very long time. Cap and Trade is a passion for Obama. I read the other day that a national manufacturing group says that passing it will lose 2 million jobs. I believe it.

While fighting health care, and girding our loins for Cap & Tax, immigration looms.

I hope things are better on your end, BZ.
