(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

PM Netanyahu Is Correct: The UN Is A Disgrace

Our Mr Obama undermined Israel on Wednesday. Mr Hugo Chavez certainly enjoyed and supported Our Hero's speech. An excellent analysis of that speech here.

Unfortunately, for many ignorers of fact, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu struck back on Thursday.

As Hugh Hewitt wrote on Wednesday:

The worst of many awful parts of (Obama's) speech is that the president engages in Israel-bashing before a group that includes many of the worst sort of thugs and dictators. President Obama missed the opportunity to remind the world that Israel has an absolute right to exist, and that no serious negotiation can begin until that right is recognized by all the powers in the Palestinian territories. The president's slam on the legitimacy of Israeli settlements is a red herring, and everyone knows it. The obstacle to peace is Hamas and every other extremist who wants Israel destroyed, not construction within previously established lines of construction.

Ahmadinnerjacket abjures the Holocaust. He wants Israel completely removed from the face of the earth. How is it that one may even attempt to conduct any form of rational discussion with an individual representing a nation that disregards historical fact?

As Mr Hewitt concludes:

The second worst part of the speech was the studied refusal bluntly to name Iran as an oppressor of its own people and an exporter of terror and breaker of international rules. Part of the essence of appeasement is the refusal by free states to speak bluntly about their fascist counterparts. The president's meaningless rhetoric about "certain truths which are self-evident" must be a very bitter pill for the dissidents of iran in prison, and their families and friends, who were looking for a statement of solidarity, not an invitation for the fanatics to continue their repression under the guise of each country pursuing "a path rooted in the culture of its people and its past traditions." What an embarrassment, but also how predictable given the president's long standing hostility to Israel and his reflexive desire to not offend our enemies.

America has, in essence, kicked Israel to the curb -- the only supporter of anything Western in the entire Middle East. Tiny Israel -- has anyone ever stopped to think of the achievements this country has made whilst surrounding by those nations who would and have invaded it in moments? And yet, by wars, Israel is continuously demanded to return small portions of land it held fairly as the result of these wars, whilst not being the aggressor.

Mr Obama is simply an apologist for American Power. John Bolton scores Obama's speech here and concludes: Our Hero is the perfect representative for a world he increasingly pushes as post-American.

The United States, friends, is the last and best chance for the entire planet. You diminish the power of America to the detriment of yourself and every other nation on the globe.

Israel is now truly alone in the Middle East. They cannot count on the US like they have in the past.

Should Iran get close to building a nuclear weapon, I look for Israel to look toward their own self interest and attack Iran's nuclear facilities, and damned be world opinion (which seems to be against them anyway).

The UN is a disgrace and so is our president. That speech he gave was so demoralizing...will he EVER show he has a shred of affection for this great country?
When Qaddafi and Chavez rave over him, we KNOW we have BIG problems.
And so does Israel, God help them.....
I hope they attack nuke facilities in Iran TOMORROW.

Exactly correct.. The UN is useless and needs to be GONE from this nation, but Obama will never support such a move, the UN is his *back up* when American troops and police fail to follow orders if told to corral the American people.

Funny how a lot of folks watched that speech and came away with different takes.

I saw Obama's speech as a disgraceful blame session. He blamed everything on GWB, he apologized for standing up to islamic nutjobs, and he made our nation weaker by just the words he used.

On the contrary Israel was made stronger by the actions and words of their leader...They are on their own and they know it.

Obama can't possibly launch any military action against Iran, because of how he came to power. He came to power bashing Iraq, Iran had nothing to do with 9-11 either and htey have not attacked us so how can he convince his base that action is warranted? He cant and Iran knows it.

Our Conservative gov't walked out on the iranian loud mouth, for which I'm proud, but I've read that our illustrious royal opposition (liberals) have been complaining that we walked.
I just hope we/conservatives have the balls to go all the way for Israel, if needed.

I know PM Netanyahu has the big brass balls to do what needs to be done for Israel. And world & U.S. opinion be damned. GO IDF!! I wonder if I'm too old to emigrate to Israel & join the IDF?

I hope the Honduran President Micheletti also has the cojones to stand alone against the world. He seems to be doing fine so far. But Honduras is so much smaller, weaker and dependent on U.S aid.

We have lost the trust of our former freedom allies. And that trust will be very, very difficult, if not impossible, to ever rebuild and regain. God help us all. We need to pray.

I don't think Mid-East peace is possbile in our lifetime. Israel should stop building new settlements, surround themselves with a wall and throw out the Palestinians on their side.

Iran will have a nuclear bomb. There is no stopping it. If a backward, poor country like N.Korea can get one it is a sure thing that an oil rich nation like Iran can easily follow suit.

I agree in principle with many of the commentors here but in practical terms the only option is deterence.

I would like to see the UN moved to Geneva. New York would be better off without it.

Tim, I don't believe it's up to us to tell Israel not build a wall or not to defend themselves. If a wall results in (and it appears to be doing so) more security for Israel's citizens, then I'm all for that. I do, however, agree that a peace will not be available in our lifetimes. The rift is too deep and too historical. Iran may have a nuke. Or not. Depends on Israel deciding it will "go it alone" on air strikes into Iran.

And I comPLETELY concur with your comment regarding the UN.

All hail Israel, the new Leader of the Free World!

The free world is much smaller, with the withdrawal of the United States of Community Organizers to it's new primary position as Organizer of the World. No one is paying attention to them, however, because the Organizer in Chief is a namby-pamby wishy-washy wuss.

BZ,
Please re-read Tim's post. He WANTS Israel to build a wall, as well as defend themselves.

I have often thought the UN as an entity is like a third testicle. Nice to have I suppose but who really needs them. Well, perhaps our President could us a spare.

Hey, Copper - before you have a "spare" you have to have at least one...

I agree with Z and B Woodman and all here who are committed to standing behind Israel even though our President and his country will not. My country and yours will.

Just what country do you live in Maggie? The CSA? I shake my head. It has become obvious that some Republicans favor a new Civil War and that is sad.
I pray for our country.
