Ain't Misbehavin' -- Leon Redbone

Enough of politics. I'm politicked out today. And I have had quite enough of listening to Mr Obama's voice which now, to my shell-like ears, is reminiscent of nails on a chalkboard.

  • How nice. Thanks for sharing. As I was listening I was reminiscing about the past. My great grandmother had an enormous foyer, where a piano, organ and set of drums sat. On many ocassions during the week, mostly weekends, a group of family members would gather with other instruments, horns, guitars, banjo, comb and tissue paper, soda bottles filled with different levels of water and they would make music. Mostly stuff from the 40's. Great times. When I drive by her old home I find myself smiling. I never did learn to play an instrument. Took piano lessons from grandma and quitar lessons. Never achieved either. I guess it's not too late learn.

  • Funny, every once in a while I drive by my grandma and grandpa's house at 2526 27th Street in Sacramento. After 110 years it's still standing, although the area isn't good. Brings back some good and some wistful memories.

  • I watched the introductions to the State of the Union and was out in two minutes...that's how interested I was in hearing what he had to say.

  • Of course you are. Obama's speech shut down the GOP but good!

  • "We won." Was not that the quote from President of the United States Barak Hussein Obama or Member of Congress Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D) San Francisco? Where is the action? You certainly got the seats, the media, the academic foundation of our intellectual elite. You possess all the mandate you were looking for except, "Mother, may I?," or "Simon says."

Leon Redbone was a great idea.

  • I'm with you, BZ. I've tried to write a post about the SOTU address but haven't come up with a thing. Governor Palin called it uninspiring and a lecture. I can't say I disagree with her.

I'm ashamed to admit I've never heard of Leon Redbone before this but now that I have, I'll more than likely add him to my collection. I love his voice.

    Thanks for sharing.
