(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Arizona's New Law: It's Already Working:

From Bloomberg.com:

April 27 (Bloomberg) -- Mexicans in Arizona should carry documentation and “act carefully” after the state passed a law requiring local police to determine the immigration status of anyone suspected of being in the country illegally, Mexico’s Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry said the warning is directed toward Mexicans living, studying or planning to travel to the southwestern U.S. state, which shares a border with northern Mexico, according to the e-mailed statement sent today. It comes as members of U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration said they have concerns about the new law and may seek to overturn it in court.

“There is an adverse political environment for migrant communities and all Mexican visitors,” Mexico’s ministry said. “It’s important to act carefully and respect the local laws.”

The Arizona law makes it a state crime to be in the U.S. without proper documentation. The state has an estimated 460,000 residents living there illegally, the seventh highest total in the country, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Opponents say it will lead to discrimination and racial profiling by law enforcement authorities.

Once again, the Leftists, DEM/MSM and Demorats purposely fail to tell you the truth with regard to illegal immigration. First thing of note: it is actually illegal. Imagine that.

Second, even at Ellis Island people were not allowed to enter this country willy-nilly and with no vetting whatsoever. Those persons found unfit were simply returned to their country of origin. There were actual screenings and screening points. People had to fill out questionnaires, were examined in terms of physical and mental fitness, checked for diseases, their financial standing noted. Today, none of this occurs on our southern border and -- despite that -- the United States is still excoriated for objecting to being forcefully boarded against her will.

You wish to examine regulations? How about those Mexico has, itself, with regard to entry on its own borders? From ng4779 on Texas Fred's:

* Foreigners are admitted into Mexico “according to their possibilities of contributing to national progress.” (Article 32)

* Immigration officials must “ensure” that “immigrants will be useful elements for the country and that they have the necessary funds for their sustenance” and for their dependents. (Article 34)

* Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets “the equilibrium of the national demographics,” when foreigners are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when “they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy.” (Article 37)

* The Secretary of Governance may “suspend or prohibit the admission of foreigners when he determines it to be in the national interest.” (Article 38)

Mexican authorities must keep track of every single person in the country:

* Federal, local and municipal police must cooperate with federal immigration authorities upon request, i.e., to assist in the arrests of illegal immigrants. (Article 73)

* A National Population Registry keeps track of “every single individual who comprises the population of the country,” and verifies each individual’s identity. (Articles 85 and 86)

* A national Catalog of Foreigners tracks foreign tourists and immigrants (Article 87), and assigns each individual with a unique tracking number (Article 91).

Foreigners with fake papers, or who enter the country under false pretenses, may be imprisoned:

* Foreigners with fake immigration papers may be fined or imprisoned. (Article 116)

* Foreigners who sign government documents “with a signature that is false or different from that which he normally uses” are subject to fine and imprisonment. (Article 116)

Foreigners who fail to obey the rules will be fined, deported, and/or imprisoned as felons:

* Foreigners who fail to obey a deportation order are to be punished. (Article 117)

* Foreigners who are deported from Mexico and attempt to re-enter the country without authorization can be imprisoned for up to 10 years. (Article 118)

* Foreigners who violate the terms of their visa may be sentenced to up to six years in prison (Articles 119, 120 and 121). Foreigners who misrepresent the terms of their visa while in Mexico — such as working with out a permit — can also be imprisoned.

Under Mexican law, illegal immigration is a felony. The General Law on Population says,

* “A penalty of up to two years in prison and a fine of three hundred to five thousand pesos will be imposed on the foreigner who enters the country illegally.” (Article 123)

* Foreigners with legal immigration problems may be deported from Mexico instead of being imprisoned. (Article 125)

* Foreigners who “attempt against national sovereignty or security” will be deported. (Article 126)

Mexicans who help illegal aliens enter the country are themselves considered criminals under the law:

* A Mexican who marries a foreigner with the sole objective of helping the foreigner live in the country is subject to up to five years in prison. (Article 127)

* Shipping and airline companies that bring undocumented foreigners into Mexico will be fined. (Article 132

Yes, people, it would appear that Arizona's law is actually beginning to be effective -- something the federal government is not.

Next focus: Fornicalia!

peedee: Mexico speaks with forked tongue. I'm sure you noted the one quote with regards:

* Foreigners may be barred from the country if their presence upsets “the equilibrium of the national demographics,” when foreigners are deemed detrimental to “economic or national interests,” when they do not behave like good citizens in their own country, when they have broken Mexican laws, and when “they are not found to be physically or mentally healthy.” (Article 37)

"Upset the equilibrium"? That means DEMOGRAPHY, people! That in itself is RACIST in nature. Isn't that, applied to the US, what Leftists and Demorats would scream?

TF: and THAT is absolutely WONderful!

. . .in the meantime, San Francisco Mayor Newsom seeks to sever contact with AZ, as does the State of Fornicalia.

Fornicalia, sinking, just does not and never will "get it."

Your lips to God's ears TF.
But what are the chances it'll happen in those States?
Near zero, I'd wager.

BZ,
Newsome is without a doubt the biggest jackass in politics and that' saying something. The SF board of commissioners spends more time on things that don't concern it than should be permissable by the city charter.

I'm appalled that their sole pursuit seems to be reading everyone else's laws and voting on them. I don't understand why any state, business or other entity even contemplates spending the inflated prices in SF. Been there and left unimpressed. Jackasses.

Greybeard: zero.

LOT: I used to live in SF many years ago when I was VERY young and stupid and thought I wanted to work for SFPD. You, at the time, had to be a city resident. I therefore lived on California Street in order to acquire my resident status. Until I was taken aside by an SFPD Inspector (thanks, Robert!) in detectives who told me to stay away, stay far away.

SF, quite the beautiful site and city, actually, DOES NOT deserve ANY tourist dollars. It is a massive LEFTIST SIPHON. I REFUSE to stay in ANY motel in that city now and, when I wish to visit, I overnight in either South San Francisco motels or motels by the Oakland Airport in the EAST Bay.

From my friend who works for the Phoenix PD - the new law gives the the right to ask people they are already engaged with their status. They cannot nor will they be asking a person who is harmlessly walking down the street for their papers.

The public has no clue what's going on in Phoenix because of immigration and drugs. None. The officers there are fighting a war; the drug cartels have issued orders that all law enforcement people are to be killed.

They don't have time to be hassling people for their papers.

cj: I don't know if it's still true, but it used to be, when I had classes there, that the senior Phoenix PD folks worked nights and the newbies worked days, because of the heat.

The crime rate in AZ is the lowest in 2 decades, the rate of illegals crossing is less than half of what it was 10 years ago. This law is bullshit.
