CapNTax: "We're Baaaaaaack"

What did I tell you? Didn't I believe that CapNTax would be back?

* Backers hope for Senate vote in June or July * Measure could affect states' climate control activities (Adds reaction from American Petroleum Institute) By Richard Cowan

WASHINGTON, April 15 (Reuters) - A long-awaited compromise bill to reduce U.S. emissions of carbon dioxide and other gases blamed for global warming will be unveiled by a group of senators on April 26, sources said on Thursday.

The legislative language to be sketched out in 11 days, according to government and environmental sources, is being drafted by Democratic Senator John Kerry, Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and independent Senator Joseph Lieberman.

Backers of the environmental bill hope the unveiling will pave the way for the full Senate to debate and pass a measure in June or July if the compromise attracts enough support from a group of moderate Republicans and Democrats.

"Moderates."

"Compromise bill."

"Republican Senator Lindsay Graham."

Mr Obaka and the DC Elites are not YET through fleecing you, emptying out your pocketbooks.

We are being pushed against a wall, ladies and gentlemen. And the Leftists will NOT stop.

They are DETERMINED to KILL our economy.

What is Graham thinking? I don't get it and, apparently, neither does he.

The 15 cent additional tax on gas thrills me, I can tell you. I mean, I barely go anywhere now because money is tight. Going fewer places won't be that tough, will it?

*Sigh*

You are supposed to stay home, not drive, to proffer your adoration to DC and Mr Obaka from afar.

And vote as you are told by the Left, and accept as they demand.

They are running out of time and they know it. All we can do is get a few to consider their political futures.

Oh, Lord!

Cap and Tax will undo us as individuals and as a nation.

BHO is steering America in the direction that America will never again be a world economic power.

Do as they say, not as they do.

The wealthy and elite classes can afford to spend a bit more: they have it to spend. The peons, however, are supposed to lump it and like it, and thank them ever so much for more taxes. And the 'moderates' will only spend moderately more than the liberals spending liberally more. Gee, thanks.

The idea of cutting government, cutting taxes and actually trying to get the economy going will not pass the elitist mind-set. Look at the supporters of new taxes and you will see the elitists, sycophants and those who cannot do basic math and always trust authority... that latter being the same ones to wonder why things go so bad, so quickly, when economy killing measures are passed because they do 'good things'.

Time to get another 5 gallon jerrycan...

Now Bozama has even lost what little support he had in "flyover country", yet the coasts still like him.
A lack of understanding?

Inhofe says Democrats have only 26 votes. He also said health care was DOA in the Senate. He was wrong. I hope he is right this time.

The problem is, he's speaking before the deal making begins.

Too bad Graham isn't up for reelection this year.

Oh no, here in the rusted west (calif) we won't use cars, we're all going to ride the hi-speed trains that are going to be built, at an unknown amount of billions for an unknown number of riders, who won't have jobs....? Go figure, these hi-speed trains from LA to Sacramento, SF, and a couple other far-flung destinations, will eliminate the gridlock on the 60 fwy to the 10 fwy in the LA basin during rush hour....

Run that past me again??

Sarah: of course it will -- NOT. Here's why I voted AGAINST high speed rail in Fornicalia, and what no one will tell you:

1. HSR costs at MINIMUM $3 million per mile because it all has to be NEW trackage and NEW right-of-way;
2. It has to be new trackage because you CANNOT mix freight and passenger on HSR; freight is WAY too slow and clogs lines;
3. HSR is too expensive for double trackage, so you cannot get the greatest efficiency out of the route;
4. HSR must be CWR (Continuous Welded Rail) and must be "tamper proof." That means it is inherently, again, more expensive than freight track and its ballast and road bed must be perfect due to speeds encountered;
5. Because HSR is so delicate and must be in perfect condition, always, HSR trains cannot be simply placed onto existed freight lines; freight trains beat hell out of any track and imperfections cannot be tolerated at high speeds;
6. This means lines must be located on NEW right-of-way, which means that this ROW is not ALREADY owned by a transportation company, which means this ROW must be purchased, NEW, from private parties and from businesses;
7. There will be lawsuits from persons not wanting HSR near them OR will refuse to sell their property;
8. HSR requires mostly tangent (straight) tracks. HSR doesn't like curves, and curves built must be very gradual and very long and cambered; therefore once a route is chosen there is little room for any deviation and therefore is, again, VERY expensive;
9. Because of the nature of HSR, and the fact that HSR trains are easily derailed (all it would take is ONE gangbanger or one mental defective to pull a rail clip or undermine or dislodge a tie plate or affix an object to one rail) because of their -- ahem -- HIGH SPEED -- ANY derailment will be an absolute catastrophe;
10. Therefore, HSR line must be completely fenced, isolated and protected from access by various forms of security -- once again, escalating HSR price.

The cost, if ever built, will likely be TWO to THREE TIMES what Fornicalians first "budgeted."

You, me, Sarah, we are gonna get SCREWED.
