Bloviating Zeppelin: Spending Threatens "Social Cohesion"

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Spending Threatens "Social Cohesion"

Our current economic path is unsustainable.

Even if I agreed with the societal aspects of ObakaKare, amnesty for illegal Mexican invaders, CapNTax -- even if I agreed with those items I would object to their implementation for one very core and salient reason: we can't afford it.

We have expanded government to the point that we truly are on the cusp of a societal revolution -- and, of course, Mr Obaka has indicated that he already wishes to "transform" America but he fails to specifically delineate that manner of this so-called transformation and, further, what this transformation means and what it looks like.

I say: from this point on, any additional penny spent by the federal government is unsustainable.

And I suspect Mr Obaka's "transformation" involves nothing more than massive additional spending coupled with mandated societal "reforms."

It is all: UNSUSTAINABLE.

Did you happen to read the below article in the UK Telegraph? Likely not -- because, after all, if you wish to find out what's actually occurring in this country you must seek out the UK media. Your DEM/MSM will purposely tell you little should it be remotely considered deleterious or harmful to Mr Obaka or his regime of sniveling jackanapes:

The world's five biggest AAA-rated states are all at risk of soaring debt costs and will have to implement austerity plans that threaten "social cohnesion", according to a report on sovereign debt by Moody's.

"Growth alone will not resolve an increasingly complicated debt equation. Preserving debt affordability at levels consistent with AAA ratings will invariably require fiscal adjustments of a magnitude that, in some cases, will test social cohesion," said Pierre Cailleteau, the chief author.

With one large caveat: Mr Obaka envisions absolutely NO "austerity plans" whatsoever. If anything, there is nothing but more and more spending on the horizon.

Yet, I am firmly convinced that our own "social cohesion" will shortly be sorely tested by the current path of Mr Obaka. "Testing social cohesion" is a warm-n-fuzzy phrase for violence, riots and counter-revolution.

One has only but to cast an eye at Greece and its current situation. Union workers and youths have been rioting, encouraged by Left Wing elements. This is called foreshadowing, ladies and gentlemen.

Are you willing to spend time studying the issues, making yourself aware, and then conveying that information to family and friends? Will you resist the temptation to get a government handout for your community? Realize that the doctor's fight against socialized medicine is your fight. We can't socialize the doctors without socializing the patients. Recognize that government invasion of public power is eventually an assault upon your own business. If some among you fear taking a stand because you are afraid of reprisals from customers, clients, or even government, recognize that you are just feeding the crocodile hoping he'll eat you last.
- Ronald Reagan -October 27, 1964

Consequences are already beginning to occur:

Drudge indicates that "personal income drops 3.2% since Obama."

Because of the passage of ObakaKare, 60 new hospitals have been canceled.

66% of Americans believe they are already over-taxed.

Rasmussen says that "ever since the health care bill was passed, a majority of voters have wanted to repeal it."

Public servants say, always with the best of intentions, "What greater service we could render if only we had a little more money and a little more power." But the truth is that outside of its legitimate function, government does nothing as well or as economically as the private sector. - Ronald Reagan, October 27, 1964

The federal government is left with only three options. These options are immured in stone and unassailable. Mr Obaka will have to take at least one of the these three paths:

1. Cut spending
2. Raise taxes
3. Print money

I suspect there will be a massive tax pogrom, and the correlation will be to print more money which will demand inflation and, perhaps, hyper-inflation. From there a true depression may actually issue.

Fiscally, I submit that the United States are about to tank economically. I also submit that, concomitant with this, there will be -- kindly phrased -- a "challenge" to societal cohesion.

You mark my words. No one -- NO ONE -- will be talking about spending cuts. Not even some of the Republicans.

In the meantime, our Mr Obaka bows to ChiComs.

We, the US, we're wrong; everyone else is right.

Mr Obaka is forcing us down the path of fiscal unsustainability. I submit that you should be preparing for that very eventuality.

When has not being able to afford it ever stopped the government??

It's not their money, it's ours, and until we cut them OFF it will always be within their budget...

And that's the "disconnect."

The money has no REAL MEANING to government officials -- on BOTH sides of the aisle.

They think of it as "theirs."

Which is why I, like you, think that there is some kind of social upheaval coming. I cannot see, at this point, any other viable way.

Our DC politicians, on both sides of the aisle, just don't "get it."

In welfare speak "That be 'bout it.. yo".

Pres. Obama and the Democrats may be in control in Washington, but as BloZep points out in the previous comment, the spending runs to BOTH sides of the aisle. Example: Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) recently spoke out against federal spending in Huntsville. He said ""We're spending a lot of money that we don't have." He said it in a giant space center that was built with government money which HE steers to the state. He consistently fights to keep NASA dollars flowing from Washington to Alabama. So…our lawmakers, as usual, first need to demonstrate that they themselves have the courage of their convictions.

Animal: As I have clearly pointed out in the past, Mr Bush spent like a drunken sailor on shore leave; however, I also point out that Mr Obaka spends like the entire fleet on shore leave. Our deficit has increased almost ten-fold since Mr Obaka stepped in. The Republicans are certainly NO Golden Children when it comes to living up to Conservatism and their alleged platform.

I clearly acknowledge this.

Which is why TEA Parties are not simply comprised of Republicans, but Dems and Independents as well.

They are: Taxed Enough Already.

Oh, sure, Zep…never meant to point out anything but. No disagreement from me on that one, nor any desire to belabor some other point. I'm on board.

Then we can agree to be Mutually On Board -- can we not?

With the understanding that I support 1) spending wisely, and 2) spending within limits…you betcha.

Animal: perfect. Because this current path is worse than bad. I suppose that, actually, "unsustainable" is being quite kind considering the potential consequences -- which I do not see Mr Obaka attempting seriously to avoid.
