Bloviating Zeppelin: Memorial Day 2010

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Memorial Day 2010

God bless all our warriors, past and present, who preserved our freedom, liberated countries and kept the world from being subsumed by evil.

God bless America; the last, best hope of the entire planet.

David and Beth: thank you so kindly. I feature that this day isn't so much a celebration for joy, as it should be a day of thanks and remembrance for all those brave souls who, over land and sea and in the air, sacrificed their very lives for the country in which the believed: the United States of America.

I want you to know BZ, that I read the letters you've had up on your blog and I've been so blessed by them.
I love coming here on a day like today, because I know I'll find the same reverence and respect I try and show today.
Thank you so much. Again.

BZ, I spent several "memorial days" while in country pacifying the hamlets in my area of responsibility.
As a Texas Aggie military graduate, the memorial day means something extra.
Thank you for your blog, for your gracious use, and letting old warriors like me have a daily place to read current events, knowing that friendly's were only a keystroke away.
I THANK YOU ON THIS DAY.

Great Images. The Vietman Wall one is especially touching. I remember when we were in Washington. It was something to see the vets and how emotional they and their families were. I almost felt like I was intruding on such a personal moment.

Great and touching images. They are all, all reminders of just how much so many have given so that we might have the freedoms we all enjoy in this one-of-a-kind country. We are unique and special in the world and our sorry president fails to recognize this.

Thank you for this meaningful tribute, BZ. The video, the man in the wheelchair managing to stand and the pic of the young woman lying on the grave...it defies expression.

Some really nice photos, bz. Sorry I've not been around. Hopefully I'll get my blog figured out as well.

The "Taking Chance" video reminds me of this story, which is not a great story. Don't know if you've already heard about it, or blogged it.
