(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

You Want Unmotivated & Stupid Cops? You Got It!

Said it before and I'll say it again.

Many people disagree with me.

But my numerous years of experience have affirmed: you get the kind and type of cops you pay for. If you're not interested in paying for them, you'll get -- again -- what you pay for. If you're not much interested in choosing and paying them correctly, then they're not much interested in serving you. Particularly considering the newest generations extant and upcoming.

Dayton, Ohio, is having problems with hiring via the US DOJ. From ABC22:

DAYTON -- The Dayton Police Department is lowering its testing standards for recruits.

It's a move required by the U.S. Department of Justice after it says not enough African-Americans passed the exam.

Dayton is in desperate need of officers to replace dozens of retirees. The hiring process was postponed for months because the D.O.J. rejected the original scores provided by the Dayton Civil Service Board, which administers the test.

Under the previous requirements, candidates had to get a 66% on part one of the exam and a 72% on part two.

The D.O.J. approved new scoring policy only requires potential police officers to get a 58% and a 63%. That's the equivalent of an ā€˜Fā€™ and a ā€˜Dā€™.

Perfect!

There you go, that's what I want: an ignorant and, moreover, documentedly-more stupid cop. Wielding "deadly force" with an ability to physically place you under arrest -- hey, that's not so terribly important. Really. It's over-rated. Further: speaking the English language: not so important anymore as well. Reading and writing: well hell, everything is relative, isn't it?

But I'm the primary racist because, now, in Sacramento, Fornicalia (where I work) I am the Official Minority as a member of Caucasoids.

Making me, of course, quite glad I'm not so far from retirement and, moreover, living numerous miles away from places where cops will be desperately needed.

So, people, keep on trying to balance your local, state and federal budgets on the back of public workers. Kick them damned privileged cops to the curb. Reduce their salaries and benefits. Reduce entrance level skills and testing thresholds.

At this point, I damned near couldn't care less. I can see retirement in my crosshairs. I've got mine, my house, my precious metals, and distance from the valley's Thug Culture.

Oh boy, people, I can't wait to see how positively all this plays out.

I'm so glad I chose to jump ship after eight years. Saw it coming when things that used to be left up to "officer discretion" started resulting in disciplinary action. When the bone-head brass decides everyone has to enforce the letter of the law instead of the spirit of the law a society is in big trouble and the government suddenly gets used to being able to toss anyone in jail anywhere for any thing.

You and I both know the average citizen can't drive half a mile without unintentionally breaking some local, state, or fed law.

Aside from badges and guns, check out the cars these new "lower entry scan" recruits will be driving. Police Interceptors and Segways. One looks cool and will be a guided missile driven by a person with the IQ of a crash test dummy, and the other will be even more ridiculous looking than the sheriff's departments who have taken to wearing ball caps and shorts.

Having been a cop for eight years, I have great respect for those who choose the profession with the intent of preserving the liberty of innocents. I have very little tolerance for those who weasel their way into a civil service job via affirmative action in sheep's clothing just so they can pick up an easy paycheck and look cool.

It will reach a point where many of our local, state, and federal law officers will be mindless drones working as government thugs. That's already been the case with some of the federal agencies as well-meaning officers who weren't capable of much independent thinking blindly followed orders at Waco and Ruby Ridge.

Tim, I always took pride in the fact that my department allowed us great discretion in terms of arrests, tactics, coordination and the handling of calls. The problem isn't just with affirmative action, however -- though that's been and led to our greater ruination.

Yes, some of our "minority" brethren and sistren were handpicked and tossed into VERY choice slots directly from the jails or bypassing the jails altogether. They became the Favored Few. However, they were done no service because they missed the seasoning in the jails and the seasoning in patrol and then detectives. They further found themselves into a movement stream of placements and promotions that few others enjoyed.

That said, my department started doing that for many people. We minimized the importance of seasoning in the jail system, in insistence in having acquired valuable experience in patrol, pushing a squad car around and handling basic calls for service -- then acquiring your investigative chops in detectives. We forgot about truly well-rounded and experienced officers. We forgot The BASICS.

And we're paying for it now with our current crop of Sergeants, Lieutenants, Captains, Chiefs and Sheriff.

We ended up completely de-valuing the very foundation of every good department.

Now, after budget cuts, we're a shadow of our former selves and captain'd by a man who spent 35 seconds in patrol, the bulk of his time in the jail getting his JD. He rocketed up ranks beCAUSE of his having passed the bar.

Much of this we've done to ourselves because of melanin count, but its affects leaked into everything else we do.

NFO: used to live near there in the late 60s, early 70s. Once NCR and Goodyear and the other industries moved out, you can have it. You sure as hell can have it now with this imbecilic crap.

Hey BZ, You are absolutely correct but you are pretty much missing the point... THIS is exactly how our education system works.

We have lowered the standards as to not "Offend" rather than "Develop" and "Motivate"

See in the liberal mind it's more important to "Feel" good about allowing someone who shouldn't pass-pass. Than it is to PUSH the individual to the point of tears so they get off their ass and PASS because it's too hard....!

Working hard, reaching for the top and succeeding in life is tough, so what is needed is to make everyone EQUAL no matter what so everyone is stuck in mediocreville or lower...That's liberalism in a nutshell. Welcome to the new America... Is there anywhere we can run too?
