Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

GOP Update:

It's pretty simple.

No one really thought that Donald Trump would last as a presidential candidate. Of course, he didn't disappoint -- he has officially pulled out. He was a temporary distraction. He'd rather continue with business and his television shows. Nothing wrong with that, indeed. But blowing up the presidential skirts? Just wrong. But: no loss.

Huckabee is out. I repeat: no loss.

Newt Gingrich is in. Paul Ryan is not too terribly keen on Newt.

Mitt Romney has raked in, so far, the most cash.

Rick Santorum has his hat in the ring but predominantly no one knows who the hell he is.

Ron Paul is just -- Ron Paul. Only a smattering of dimwits would vote for this elderly flake. But he does make one recent interesting point.

Obama's "OBL Bump" has ended.

In the meantime, the USA borrows $58,000 a SECOND.

Pete and Repeat were walking down the street. Pete fell down.

And who was Left?

Hermain Caine. He is fiscally conservative, socially conservative, is a successful business, educated, upholds traditional values and speaks his mind and could careless about being politically correct.

Point for Romney - the Salt Lake Olympics. The situation was a mess. He came in and got everything back on track. Stomped on a lot of toes I'm told by my SLC friends. Point against - his performance as Mass Governor. My personal take is he is a RINO.

The GOP is giving America away...

Where have we heard that before??

Oh yeah, all through the last election cycle when I told everyone that the GOP was Dem-Lite...

Not a real Conservative in the bunch in my opinion, not in the list you made BZ...

Herman Cain and Allen West, those 2 likely are the best shot the GOP has of keeping themselves afloat and saving a nation...

Herman Cain as of now has my support... He's a no nonsense problem solver (not that our country is facing any problems) that isn't in lock step with Washington insider politicians...

Obama's "bump" didn't last very long. That brevity should tell us just how big an epic fail this administration is!

As for Newt Gingrich, I'm not keen on him at all for the GOP's 2012 candidate. My concerns are not much related to his personal life, either. Rather, I'm skeptical about his because he has been such a consummate politician -- even though he has done some excellent work in the political arena. I don't believe that Gingrich can win against Obama. I'd like to be wrong about that last statement.

Whom do I really like these days in the political field? Allan West, even though he likely doesn't have enough experience. But I'd pay good money to see West debate Obama.

I concur with Leticia. Herman Cain came up from the very mean streets of Atlanta to become a CEO of several successful buisnesses. He is a radio talk show host there now and NOT politically correct or afraid of race baiting poverty pimps. I support him and Michele Bachmann. Sounds like a ticket to me.

Cain is a bit unusual. Was
chairman of the Federal Reserve in Kansas City, was in favor of TARP..yet the only candidate that wants to return to the gold standard. Never held public office. Doesn't appear to be polling well, but it is very early.

What if they held an election and no one came? Oh... wait...

TF: I was only referring to people who had put their hats into the race. But what's the actual chance of West running? I haven't heard.

For the rest who recommend Herman Cain(e), I'll have to check him out and examine his cv/pedigree. And is he officially "in the race"?

Jinksto: you may be painting the future. . .

EVERYONE Knew the field in 08 was weak, dem-lite and we also knew it didn't really matter who it was they weren't going to win... Sad fact but it's true.

We have 2 things going on now:
1. We have Obama who is destroying our nation. And he's got a lot of help in the media, academia, and the welfare, minority (Yeah I mean latino who are no longer the minority)Vote.

2. We have the "GOP" that figures no matter who they put up against Obama they will get the "Right" side of the aisle vote. From Moderate Dems, Indy's to Conservatives They will vote against Obama... A sad fact that is also probably true.

I know a lot of folks will say. I'll vote Indy, or I'll vote write in... And that's fine. But right now we have a chance to put fourth a candidate we WANT. IF we sit back and let the GOP pick we get Romney.

I have NO PROBLEM at all saying I voted for McCain/Palin in 08. I don't need to defend my vote with a massive list of what Obama did, all I gotta say is 2 SCOTUS Appointments. FACT. I don't know that McCain would have sent 100 Conservative judges, but I'd be willing to bet they would be MUCH better than what we have now.

I also know that the people I voted for are still involved in our countries direction, regardless of my opinion of them and their ideals. They are still fighting the fight. Good or bad.

I'm a proud dimwit who would vote for the elderly flake. The elderly flake is the only guy who understands that compromise is the greatest enemy of personal liberty.

No offense taken, though...less than ten years ago I thought Ron Paul was a total bat-scat-crazy lunatic. Now I realize he's about the only sane man in top layer politics you'll find. And if you look at his speeches and positions for the past few decades you'll be amazed to discover he's been proven right by history...every...damn...time.

Try it.
