Bloviating Zeppelin: The Young FLEE New York City Due To: NO JOBS and HIGH TAXES

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

The Young FLEE New York City Due To: NO JOBS and HIGH TAXES

Imagine that. Taxes are an actual issue?

ALBANY - Escape from New York is not just a movie - it's also a state of mind.

A new Marist College poll shows that 36% of New Yorkers under the age of 30 are planning to leave New York within the next five years - and more than a quarter of all adults are planning to bolt the Empire State.

The New York City suburbs, with their high property values and taxes, are leading the exodus, the poll found.

Of those preparing to leave, 62% cite economic reasons like cost of living, taxes - and a lack of jobs.

"A lot of people are questioning the affordability of the state," said Lee Miringoff, director of the Marist College Institute for Public Opinion.

An additional 38% cite climate, quality of life, overcrowding, a desire to be closer to family, retirement or schools.

Overcrowding? Really? Isn't it true that one primary goal of Leftists is to squeeze, crush and collapse as many persons as possible into as minimal a "footprint" as possible, in order to minimize the "impact" upon the environment?

Would that explain Chicago? Would that explain Carbrini Greens? Would that explain the total disintegration of Detroit? So it comes as a complete and total surprise that people don't want to live cheek-by-jowl with each other?
Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in a cage." - Billy Corgan, Smashing Pumpkins, "Bullet With Butterfly Wings"

No.

Per Demorats, you can never spend too much, and you can never tax too much.

They're not just leaving NYC, many upstaters are leaving too. I left 13 years ago for Florida.

I lived in the Rochester area. The many manufacturing jobs that were in that area are drying up. Kodak was the major employer for decades and now it's just about gone.

It's not just a NYC issue. It's going on in the whole state.

It's not just that BZ! These Blown up Airheads can't even stand living so close to EACH OTHER! To take a little theme from SOuth Park, These elitest Ba$tards end up choaking on the "SmugNess" that each one of them release every time they talk. You know what I am talking About, the Smug feeling of superiority that they all exude as they preach their progressive values, and just how much better thay are than those "Folks who Cling to their guns and Religion"....
Plus, everyone who has ever visited NYC and the Surrounding areas has to admit the Tap water tastes like something you would get in a Refugee camp....

Before I finally got wise and made the decision to quit hitting myself in the forehead with a hammer, we'd frequently spend a day on the road to visit family in Chicago.
In my Bro-in-law's back yard the sounds of the city meant there was a continuous threshold of noise at a level of about 85 decibels (to my calibrated ear). Family there didn't even notice, but that assault on the ears has to have an affect on blood pressure and other body-systems.

Ask how far it is to some city destination and the answer will not be given in miles, but in minutes to travel there. My Sis-in-law (now retired) had a ten mile drive to work that sometimes took her 45 minutes.
Again, think of blood pressure.

I don't know how anyone lives in such an environment. I don't know why anyone would want to. When they call and complain that they're dealing with two feet of snow, 15 degree temps, and 20 knot winds I respond, "Well, that's the price you pay for living in paradise".

They don't see the humor in my comment.

I actually was assigned to work in NYC a few years in my beginning years with the USMS. Enjoyed the TDY assignment, but literally hated NYC.
Not my type of a city.
But, then again,,,it's me.

If I were a young person living in NY, I'd flee too!

The tax base of NY is leaving. Watch for bankruptcy at the local and state levels.
