Bloviating Zeppelin: Democrats Pissed At Howard Dean

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Democrats Pissed At Howard Dean

So we're not the only ones, eh?

From the Drudge Report:

DEAN UNDER FIRE FROM PARTY DEMS; NEARLY ALL CASH SPENT
Mon Jan 30 2006 10:52:31 ET

Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill are privately bristling over Howard Dean’s management of the Democratic National Committee and have made those sentiments clear after new fundraising numbers showed he has spent nearly all the committee’s cash and has little left to support their efforts to gain seats this cycle, ROLL CALL reports.

Congressional leaders were furious last week when they learned the DNC has just $5.5 million in the bank, compared to the Republican National Committee’s $34 million.

Senate and House Minority Leaders Harry Reid (Nev.) and Nancy Pelosi (Calif.), along with the Senate and House campaign committee chairmen Charles Schumer (N.Y.) and Rahm Emanuel (Ill.), have made their concerns -- directly or indirectly -- known to Dean, claims the paper.

Emanuel was particularly upset last week upon seeing the latest DNC numbers.

“A lot of people are scratching their heads as to what’s going on,” said one senior Democratic aide.

Another Democratic source familiar with the party fundraising apparatus said there is “obvious displeasure” among the leaders.

Here is the article referenced by Drudge. And no, I'm not a subscriber; I couldn't acquire the full piece.

So Dean's not just a loon -- he's a mismanaging loon.

Whilst I'm here, let's review some of Dean's Greatest Verbal Hits:

-- Republicans don't understand the lives of hard-working Americans because they "never made an honest living in their lives."

-- Republicans are "a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It's pretty much a white Christian party." -- true, huh, Neo, Soc?

-- The Dems vs. the GOP: "This is a struggle of good and evil. And we're the good."

-- Republican leaders are "the ayatollahs of the right wing."

-- At least Dean was honest. Once. He said: "I hate Republicans."

-- In a radio interview with San Antonio station WOAI on December 5, 2005, Dean said the "idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq is an idea which is just plain wrong."

I don't think Dean knows what he is doing. The Democrats are really in a hard position here. They have a good shot at picking up some seats but they haven't put together a plan to do it. I know I rage against the machine and I can't stand Bush, but I'm not running for office. If I were running, I'd present some clear plans and give voters an alternative to the GOP. At that point, you either accept me or reject me.

My grandmother said it's not whether you win or lose but how you play the game. That's what the mid-term election is. Most of the seats are safe so you play hard for a the ones that are vulnerable. Attacking the status quo is not a good stragedy. Present a clear alternative and force the GOP to defend the status quo or present a different alternative.

Dean has not done that and he is disappointing. Dean is spending is time bashing Bush when he should be wining and dining with corporate types to get loot. Let Kerry and Kennedy bash Bush. They have safe seats and their hated by the right. We don't lose anything. Dean job is to raise money and prepare for elections... that's it. They need to let me run the joint.

JM: Your first paragraph: absolutely spot on. And that appears to be a difference that is discernible. I see so much "no" from the Dems -- the "NO Party." No, that's bad. No, that's poor. No, that's egregious. Well fine. What's YOUR solution? I don't see solutions; I just hear NO.

Second paragraph: as strategy, that would be good. But it won't happen. Both parties are poor, for differing reasons, at crafting viable political strategies that really resonate with voters. The Great Communicator, Bush is not.

Dean is disappointing. On the other hand, for me, I find him good, clean entertainment. When I want a giggle I play my .wav file of "Yeeeeeaaaaaaah" from his "I Have A Scream" speech.

And come on. Really. Dean should know better. You mean to say he doesn't know how to generate funds or scratch the right itches? I'm not believing it.

What I AM believing is that contributions to the Dems are down simply because of who Dean is.

Purty simple.

Neo, Soc: kinda thought you'd get a giggle outta that. . .

I too enjoy James' blogsite. I frequently disagree with James but heck, he disagrees with me too so we're even. I still enjoy reading him because -- like some of the Right Wing blogs I refuse to read -- he doesn't say "you *&%!* suck" and leave it at that.

Yes, there ARE some RW sites I won't read.

Blov, you are correct but when one is not in power, one does not have the comfort of sticking with the status quo. I appreciate the fact that you guys like my blog. We can't all agree but heck - I didn't agree with my daddy half of the time - but those were the days when I was living under a dictatorship so there wasn't much room to rage against the machine.

I have a three point lesson I'm going to give Dean tomorrow. Hopefully someone will tell him about it.

In truth, James, I gotta lean with Neo, Soc. I'd just kinda let ol' Howard toddle on along by himself -- shoot, he doesn't need help -- please -- he's a lot more entertaining and fanciful as he is.

Howard Dean shows us all who he really is each and every time he opens his mouth. Let him rant; he's doing conservatives a huge favor! :)

After today, the Dems may be weakened to the point of no recovery, DU has imploded, Teddy Kennedy was in a screaming rant and I am loving it...

And just think, Roberts AND Alito on GWB's watch, that's hurting the Dems, but suppose GWB gets to seat at LEAST 1 more Justice?? Quite possible, possibly more than that...

The Dems would go totally nuts...

Poor Howard needs to go back to Doctoring (if, under the circumstances he could get any patients. I have a vision of him setting a broken leg and screaming yeeeaaaaaaah when the bone fragments connected up.

LMC: Why, thank you!

Let's look at the overall perspective from the Dems' position:

- Delay: not sticking.
- Abramoff: not sticking.
- NSA monitoring: not sticking.
- Alito: not sticking and in fact lost.
- Bush's 3rd Supreme Court Pick: likely coming.
- War in Iraq: not sticking.
- "Bad" Economy: not sticking.
- Nuclear Armed Iran: not supporting because, sigh, the general public and the UN aren't supporting it either. Dammit.
- Mainstream Media: collapsing. Christ, we can't count on that anymore.

Howard Dean imploding: priceless.
