Victory?


Many people have posed the question to our President and to the nation:

What does victory in Iraq and against Militant Islam and Islamists look like?

I would answer simply:

  • We are victorious when there is no mushroom cloud over any of our cities;
  • We are victorious when our domestic shores are not soiled with Homicide Bombers;
  • We are victorious when we can still go to work, take our children to school, pick up the dry cleaning, visit our friends, fly our skies and drive our roads without fear of CBN events;
  • We are victorious when we keep our Home Land safe.

That is what victory looks like to me.

Is victory close? Is victory here? Is victory now?

No.

Victory will be an ongoing prize, a continuing goal, and shall take literally years and years and years.

Ladies and gentlemen, in this country we have to win each and every time Islamists make a foray into the heart of our nation. We have to win every time.

With certain devices, they only have to win once.

We will win when we stop listening to 'Elites' and follow our own values of life and death, and come to commonn cause because that is what holds us together, not ideological purity.

We will win when we agree that bullets win wars and ballots win the peace. There is no such a thing as a legitimate armed political party.

We will win when we are unafraid to call actions by their names and not try to figure out *intent* and control thoughts by labelling intents, not actions.

And we will have won when we realize that the Armed Forces of the United States are made to take down Nations and States and those things attendant upon them, but it is We the People who take down everything less than that including FIGHT with the tools less than open warfare. That is the way this Nation runs.

When We the People are unafraid to speak our minds, label actions and not intents and damn well fight to be Free People against Our Enemies, no weapon can stop Us. And the only way to end Us is to kill every last American... and even then there are others who are Free People who will fight onwards for Freedom.

These things are the Foundation of the Republic. We can agree to disagree on many topics, but when We step from those things, the Republic itself is put at peril. It is so easy to 'let someone else do it' or say 'there have always been times like these' and abjur one's responsibility to think and join together with others and say:

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. We are suffering the long train of abuses of 'moral relativism' and the usurpation of fact with mere opinion and outright falsehoods. We need not throw off Government to change these things... but it is Our Right and Duty to ensure that justice via action is upheld for All.

We strive to make 'a more perfect Union'... not diminish it and demean it and destroy it via repudiation of the rights and responsibilities of individuals. That is why Group rule does not work: We declare Ourselves to be Individuals FIRST.

And that does not end until the dream of Freedom for Individuals, by Indivuals and of Individuals comes to an end.

That is what we face now.

AJ: You most definitely said a mouthful when you wrote that "bullets win wars and ballots win the peace." TRUE!

But collectively can we step out of the PC context and moral relativism of which you write? Only recently did our President even begin to speak of Islamism; he then went back to his quantification of this strife as the war on terror.

It is NOT the war on terror. It is the war on ISLAMISM and MILITANT ISLAM.

Today, for example, on the Michael Medved show an AMERICAN called up and said that the overtaking of the world by Islam is simply inevitable.

We are Islam: we are BORG?

Mr. Z - Islam is the current ugliest head of the hydra... give FARC a few more years and we will see MS-13 on a large scale as they do with capitalist intent and coersive market share what Islam wishes to do with religion. Narcoterrorism is not as lucrative as the oil wealth, but it is getting there and with it the potentials for it to head down this same path. Shining Path, those lovely Maoist rebels, are also heading into the Narco pipeline. And Aum Shinrikyo has now splintered, but the main portion of it *still* wants heavy access into the banking system and only Japanese will is stopping them via parliament. Put a leftist government in and Aum goes back into business in a way we cannot imagine. The template of how to wage large scale terror attacks is now available to these groups... and each of them has their own goals, but common means.

Cut of Hezbollah and you are still left with the rest... cut of Iran and you still have S. Korea and KSA money flowing in...cut off those... well by then you *are* in a world war. And the money and supply links will eventually trace back to Russia, China, France, Germany... if anything is left of Europe if that starts. And the problem is *still* unaddressed.

That is the dawn of the 'War Too Late'. We *can* win a 10 front war, so long as 8 are nuclear. Very easy to unleash *that* flaming swift sword of the Republic... and deadly to Us to use it, but it does work.

The other way is to *do* the hard work of the Republic. This is *not* a fight for the military, although they have a part in it. It is a fight to cut off every single Nation, company, group, party, or individual who supports bringing down the US and its Friends and Allies, cut them off from trade via interdiction and paying good money to Citizens doing this for the Nation.

That is not the 'overnight' cure... but it is the long-term degradation and choking and starving of ALL that have declared us to be enemies. Many would scoff, the 'Elites' would say that it is against 'international law'... and forget that is just Treaties which we can stop adhering to at a moment's notice. When the Republic faces enemies that skulk and lurk and do not attack openly, and that are *not* Nations, the solution is *not* to send in the Marines/Army/Navy/Air Force... they all serve a role, but it is not the leading one in that form of warfare. Citizens armed with Warrants and Letters of Marque and Reprisal IS how that kind of war is fought, and the Armed Forces a bastion of protection againts those that wish to bring us down directly. It is the *old* form of warfare and we have forgotten about it and think it gone. Our enemies use it... and it best we get back to *that* mindset and use the tools available and reforge them for the modern world.

If we do not do this, then we will be left with the 80% nuclear option.

Our choice as a Free People.

We can kill ALL of our enemies and take a high toll of those that are not... or we can target and choke and kill and capture and auction off those that supply our enemies with goods... goods at LOW COST due to this fine idea of 'Free Trade' which gets such goods at a low cost to our enemies. Very liberating that 'Free Trade'... it makes our enemies less dependent upon one supplier and gives them many on a global scale. Folks who see profit in selling to them...

Islam is one nasty head... but cut it off and leave the rest of the creature unaddressed and the head will grow back... many-fold and in different forms. The creature must be poisoned and attacked, while its heads are kept occupied. Until they find the price of their supplies going up and suppliers dwindling and bankers refusing them...

An old and nasty style of war is what they want.

Let us give it to them.

Seem to be fighting the war on two fronts... the war on Islam, and the enemy from within. The LIEberals and elites who wish to appease and surrender to Islam.

But you see, AJ, that IS what frightens me because as the noose closes on so many fronts, I do not believe that our current President (or certainly any other after him as well -- anyone ELECTABLE that is) has the wherewithal or the foresight to make that kind of a decision and create a coalition of aligned and like-thinking capitalistic/Western forces AND cut off all economic ties to those not in line with our thinking.

I actually do not believe there exists any American politician with the brainpower or the will to cross the worldview on this one.

Hence, we'll do nothing more than send in some more troops, militarize the region, do our best to stem the reaction and then, some day, take another Whopper Hit within our continguous 48.

I wish I could believe otherwise but I do not think there are any pols able to think that much outside the proverbial box.

The other part of that equation is the oil factor because if we "cut off every single Nation, company, group, party, or individual who supports bringing down the US and its Friends and Allies, cut them off from trade via interdiction and paying good money to Citizens doing this for the Nation," then we do away with our Russian, Venezuelan, Ethiopian, Chinese (its potential), and any Middle Eastern nation. Perhaps, depending upon the trade winds, even Mexico. Our only potential oil source would be, essentially, Canada. Our reserves are down. We can't drill domestically, the Green/Dems have seen to that. We're not changing to a fusion economy. We're shanked.

Mr. Z - I do not believe that we will take the pathways I outline, but I do present them as things that are: Constitutional, legal, feasible, and well within the scope of what can be done. DOING them is something else again.

That requires that we actually recognize that those we fight are trying to drag us back before Westphalia, so that war and warlords and dictatorship without end will return as Nation States disappear. They want Empire, under various names or guises. As the 19th century drew to a close, old Empires wobbled and finally shook the world with their ending... the First World War started that and the Second ended those old Empires.

We have lived so long in the coccoon of the Nation State supreme and the Cold War that locked every State into near stasis that we cannot rightly imagine the will to Empire anymore. And yet the young Republic was MADE in that era and designed to not become an Empire.

Socialist and Communist concepts married themselves with anti-Western conceptions and decided to pull an Orwell and reverse meanings. So rights of man now means that individuals have no rights. Those fighting for repression and totalitarianism are now 'freedom fighters'. The slowly inculcated themselves into the media, made things out to be worse than they were and had the Nation believe that its Elites actually knew *better* than the People. By putting forth to be 'countering corruption' and 'abuse of government', those Elites have pounded again and again that representative government that ensures rights is *worse* than totalitarian governments that give a few rights here and there, but act to keep individuals in-line.

The wake up call is slow... the coffee is brewing and its early morning and we don't know a tsunami is headed towards our beachfront home. The question is: can we wake up, get enough coffee into us, realize the peril and *run* to the known safety of high ground... or will we get up and flip on the cartoons and be washed away?

The tsunami is coming.

And from the land of Grey I can tell you that waking up is very, very, very hard to do.

That is part of the lifeline I hold out: those that woke up just a bit late and are *so near* safety can find the rope and pull... pull hard... before they are consumed and swept away into the remorseless sea of history.

So many looking for bright, new ways to bring the Republic of Free People down... so few looking to Build it up.
