(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

What I've Decided And Why

Some persons throughout the Blogosphere may not like this but, after some time and personal analysis (my Friday post being minimalist because I was otherwise occupied with the assembly of this post) I've made some conclusions that I feel compelled to share now. Perhaps a few of these things were forced by the recent public statements by James Dobson; perhaps they came to a head as the result of my reading numerous associated blogs the past few days and weeks.

I MUST TAKE A STAND:

No matter whom the GOP nominates to run for President I shall, first, show up on Election Day and, second, I shall tick the name next to this GOP candidate.

  • I shall not sit home in protest. I will vote.
  • I shall not write in Mickey Mouse or Tom Tancredo or Ron Paul or anyone that isn't the official GOP nominee.

This is not, I believe, the time for protest which, in my opinion, can only conclude with a Conservative defeat. And if this results in my being termed a Defeatist or a Lesser Of Two Evilist, or a Moderate, or a Traitor to the Good then -- well -- so be it.

Because I still believe, at least this week, that ANY GOP candidate is better than Hillary Clinton in the White House. And trust me, let me make this prediction known now: it will be Hillary Clinton as the Demoratic nominee.

Yes, I am well aware of all the standard complaints regarding the GOP and, dear readers, you've been witness to my numerous posts regarding the wrongheadedness of their past majority. We held the majority, the ascension, and we managed nothing more than to squabble and preen and squander our power away.

Then there are the complaints about President Bush; I am aware of them all and with many of them I publicly made excoriations. Money flows through his hands like water; he has pissed away billions on AIDS, foreign aid -- you know the standard information. Iraq, immigration, Dubai ports, communications, public speaking, the One World Barbeque. I don't deny many of these issues at all.

But Bush's presidency is at an end, it's not the issue; now it's about our future, who we choose and, primarily, who occupies the White House for the next 4 years come 2008 -- and, in fact, the next 4 years thereafter.

THE FOUR MOST IMPORTANT WORDS:

  • Souter
  • Stevens
  • Ginsburg
  • Breyer

Four US Supreme Court associate justices who will very likely be up for replacement in the next 4 years -- and the recommended appointments of which will stem from the next President of the United States.

If there is one thing that Republicans somehow FAIL to recognize (and the Demorats conclusively understand!), it's the massive power that exists in the US Supreme Court. To me, it is abundantly clear that the Left cannot enable many of their insane socialist and defeatist policies in the public domain; therefore they must rely on the various courts of the land to confirm or deny the policies and agendas they wish. Because the bulk of their elitist, socialist, illogical, naive, egregious and fiscally-onerous policies cannot be supported or passed by the electorate, the only remaining venue is the US Supreme Court.

We as Conservatives rail against anyone who is not our Ideal Candidate. "If the GOP doesn't nominate _____, then I'm voting for a Demorat, Ozzy Ozbourne or I'm just not voting." And in my opinion the GOP candidate is shaking out to be Rudy Giuliani. "I won't vote for Rudy," is the refrain I hear from many. "He's pro-choice, anti-gun," yadda yadda. I'm not convinced. But one thing I do know is what he's said about his SCOTUS choices:

On the Federal judiciary I would want judges who are strict constructionists because I am. I'm a lawyer. I've argued cases in the Supreme Court. I've argued cases in the Court of Appeals in different parts of the country. I have a very, very strong view that for this country to work, for our freedoms to be protected, judges have to interpret not invent the Constitution. Otherwise you end up, when judges invent the constitution, with your liberties being hurt. Because legislatures get to make those decisions and the legislature in South Carolina might make that decision one way and the legislature in California a different one. And that's part of our freedom and when that's taken away from you that's terrible.

If we as Conservatives fail to appear on election day because our Ideal Candidate wasn't chosen to run against Clinton, you can be assured that, with the current push to destroy Conservative talk show hosts, O'Reilly and Limbaugh for example, the Fairness Doctrine will be enabled and free speech will be minimized or completely stamped out under a Demorat rule. And that, dear readers, shall translate to YOUR inability to post and write what you truly feel; mine too. Moveon.org was an abomination. But they have the absolute RIGHT to post and write what they wish. You know my feelings on free speech.

But that's just one issue. You'll get HillaryCare. You'll get $5,000 of your cash given to each new baby. Want an incentive for a flood of illegals into this country that you absolutely cannot stop? Give $5,000 per illegal child. Just wait.

You'll see the military gutted like fish. You'll see taxes on every level increased. You'll see this country simper and pander to every tinpot dictator. You'll see this country kissing the ass of Europe. You'll see this country take it up the ass for Islam. You'll see Christianity made an even greater pariah. And you'll see every socialist call taken up and embraced. You'll see wholesale rewriting of history. And those are just the things I can envision right now. We have no idea what's in store for us should we hand the White House over to the Demorats. Elect a Dem and you'll get even more of a plutocracy than we have now.

So please, write your comments. Then stay home on election day. Mind you, I really don't believe you'll be oh-so-happy with the results.

I'm still up-in-the-air about who I'll vote for. I do know it won't be Hillary or Obama, that's for sure.

However, I have to say that I have never seen so much harm and distruction to my country than I've seen from 7 years of George W. Bush and this Administration.

I can't see how anyone who gets elected could do as much damage as these people.

I also will not vote for anyone that aliens themself with these people.

To me it's like owning a car. If I bought a Ford and for 7 years had nothing but problems, why would I buy another Ford?

BZ, I've been accused of compromising my values because I've said I would vote for anyone who is the front-runner of the Republican party rather than see Hillary Clinton or any other Democrat get the presidency.

One thing the Democrats know how to do is stick together and it's something that far to many Republicans have yet to learn, which is why we lost in 06. I cannot understand why many conservatives don't realize that. All the reasons why a Hillary presidency would be disastrous to America that you listed are absolute truth, and if she gets elected - as I've said before - the day she's sworn in I'll wear black because it will be a day of mourning a country that will be going down the tubes faster than water in a flushed toilet!

None of us are ever going to get a candidate we agree with on all the issues. If all conservatives stayed home because they couldn't agree with the frontrunner on all the issues the Republican Party would have been dead a long time ago. I'll never understand why many conservatives can't figure this out.

Excellent post!

In addition, I sent Dobson an e-mail saying much of what I wrote here. I hope he gets flooded with letters, e-mails and telephone calls.

The last 2 times we settled for the lesser of 2 evils, we got G.W. Bush, I will NOT vote for the lesser of 2 evils, EVER again...

Fred Thompson may not be the perfect candidate and he may not get the nomination but if you think the USA has problems NOW, vote for Guiliani...

I have never been so directly in disagreement with ya BZ, it's a rare occasion, but Guiliani is NOT a Conservative, hell, he's not much of a Republican, scum of the earth that so many of them are, Guiliani is a RINO at best, and McCain is even worse...

We either DEMAND someone like Thompson, Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo as the RNC guy or we're just settling again...

Fred: if Thompson gets the nomination, and it's not impossible he does, I would personally be much happier. I suppose it simply gets down to conclusions. I admire your stand Fred. You have a belief and you're sticking to it. I had to make mine. But I had to bottom line everything: what would I be saying and what would I be writing if or when Hillary gets into office? Would I be happy that I stayed home or voted for a write-in that I knew had no chance? I knew that I personally would not. I just decided I couldn't do that and then complain about the results; that is, if Hillary or another Empty Demorat Suit became president.

Ranando: perhaps that's a fundamental difference; I truly believe the Demorats could do infinitely more harm to the country, much more that this admin ever has. And I am not a shill for the Bush Admin and/or the GOP; which is why I write no more checks to the RNC.

We all have to do what we feel is best; we make the best choice amongst a horde of choices. But I personally would rather be accused of doing something, than not doing something. I suppose it revolves around my core and fundamental belief that what the Demorats have up their sleeves when in control of not only the White House but the House and Senate -- well, I can only term that thought as "unspeakable."

Just about any Republican will be far less destructive to this country than either Hitlery or Obama. Those who think Bush has been bad haven't seen anything yet. Either one of those two will destroy this country. Hillary wins and it will be the end of Freedom and Democracy in this country as we become a socialist dictatorship that she will never relinquish. (Though her chosen puppet may succeed her.) We can survive under someone like Bush but Hillary will try to crush the life out of this country and do it intentionally.

The GOP is not truly good but they're not truly evil either. The donks are EVIL.

I'm with you 100% on this. You know how I stand on issues like this, I couldn't agree more with this post.

Even those who aren't big fans of W have to concede that he gave us 2 stellar supreme court picks. The supreme court now has 4 stellar conservatives on the court. This will impact us for the next 30-40 years, keeping our freedoms and morals intact. That is HUGE!!

When I was sick to my stomach during the 30 day standoff between Gore and Bush my biggest fear was Gore being able to have SCOTUS picks. I felt my freedom to home school and many others were at stake and I still feel very strongly about that.

If we sit on our hands and don't vote or vote for a 3rd party that is half a vote for Hillary. The damage that was done by Bill Clinton during his 8 yrs. is incalculable. He got to pick 2 supreme court picks, 1 who was an ACLU lawyer. He put innumerable other extreme liberal judges on the bench. His lack of concern over the terrorist threat left this country vulnerable and the list could go on.

I am greatly concerned about those who would vote for their "ideal" candidate and are willing by default to let Hillary stroll into the White House. She has to be immensely gleeful over the division within our party right now.

Yet, I will not stay silent. I will advocate for what I think is best for our country in the hopes that conservatives and Republicans will rise to the occasion and do the wise thing. Just remember, many thought that Reagan was the lesser of 2 evils and we ended up with one of our greatest presidents ever.

I think we could do far worse than Rudy or Thompson and I'm even willing to hold my nose and vote for Romney. Getting 70-80% of what I want is a million times better than getting NOTHING. Which is what we will get if these naysayers stick to their guns and vote for a 3rd party or don't vote.

I must say I'm relieved to see you take this route. It gives me hope that many others will as well and that we just might have a chance in 08!!

Ranado: Is all you care about how much money you make?

Do you remember September 11th? The roots to that terrible day lie deep in the years of indifference that preceded it. The first attack on the World Trade Center should have been the wake up call. But Clinton didn't take it seriously.

If you don't view attacks on the United States and the deaths of our citizens at the hands of Islamofascist monsters seriously then by all means vote for Hillary. You'll get Bill Clinton retreads in every government office, White House Christmas trees decorated with condoms and sex toys, The Chinese Communists expanding their influence and control of the U.S. Government and another replay of the scandal du jour that was a constant reminder of how corrupt the Clinton's really are.

BZ: You summed up the issue quite well. And I want to say here and now that I haven't made up my mind who I am going to support in the South Carolina primary, but I do pledge that if my guy doesn't win the nomination I will support whoever does.

And if other people who call themselves Republicans or conservatives aren't willing to take that same pledge to suppor the parties nominee then THEY don't deserve to win and THEY need to be taught a lesson.

Sadly, the lesson THEY seem intent on imposing on the rest of us is the carnage that evil men will do if Hillary is elected. And I'm not talking about the jihadis.

It's time for these part-time politicos to grow up. I doubt that many of them have actually worked for a candidate, given money, made the phone calls, put up the yard signs. It seems that all they do is bitch and complain because the candidates aren't as perfect as they expect them to be.

Well, I remember the 1980's and people thought before the election that Reagan was the lesser of two evils. But real conservatives (not these phonies that claim to be) stuck together and Reagan went on to be the best President of my lifetime.

Imagine what would have happened to all ranando's precious money grubbing if Carter had been re-elected.

I can't believe that Kennedy didn't make your list too. Which brings up the other big thing, a GOP candidate needs to nominate judges based on real merits not the ability to sail through confirmation.

Mike, I can't speak for Ranando but I was a business man for a long time before and after I retired from my 1st career and I made a lot more money under the Clinton administration than I have under Bush, and the stock markets are way the hell up there, but so is inflation...

Does that mean I want to bring a Clinton back into the White House?? HELL NO!!

But I damn sure don't want to see another idiot like Bush in there either, we can't stand that again...

Do I believe that ANY Repub is better than the best Dem?? No, I do not, I know they are a rarity but a good CONSERVATIVE Dem would beat McCain or Guiliani ALL to hell and back, neither of them are conservative OR real Repubs...

Would I prefer a rock solid Conservative Reagan style Repub over anything else?? Oh hell yes, but that isn't gonna happen either, and as much as it pisses off a few hard core, dyed in the wool Repubs when I say it, Reagan wasn't perfect, not even close, who do you think signed the 1st amnesty bill?? Yep, the great Ronaldus Maximus himself...

And even given his imperfections, Reagan was head and shoulders above anything we'd had for years, Bush 41 couldn't hold a candle to him, Clinton didn't even know how to pretend to be like Reagan and Bush 43, well, Bush 43 is a fucking moron...

We can't base it ALL on how much money we made under a particular POTUS, Clinton and his bitch of a wife gave this nation away, they destroyed our military capabilities and our Intel gathering operations, and no matter how much money you make under an administration, you can't tolerate that kind of failure...

I still believe that if Guiliani is the RNC candidate, or even worse, if McCain is the one, we wouldn't be any worse off with ANY Dem, because if you took a real close look at McCain and Giuliani, you'll find a Dem in Repub makeup, a RINO...

Look folks, we're screwed if ANY Dem or the 2 above named so-called Repubs gets elected, I believe that in my heart...

Or is it just that 'I love Bush' thing coming out??

Look, some goddamned bum off the street corner could have been cleaned up and done a better job than Bush, my 4 year old grandson could do a better job, hell, a dim bulb like YOU could probably do a better job...

You 'Bots' really hate it when 'The Little Prince' gets criticized for being the moron he is don't you??

And before you go off with all that righteous indignation bullshit and start calling me a left wing libber, you'd better re-think THAT approach, because you WILL be wrong, I'm nowhere NEAR left OR a libber, I am an America 1st CONSERVATIVE, I just HATE GWB for the moron he is and the irreparable damage he's done to this nation, and I honestly don't think this nation would have been too much, if ANY worse under Gore or Kerry, there's just so much fucking up that can be done, and Bush has covered ALL the bases...

Well BZ, I am so pissed off at GWB and the ENTIRE Republican party right now, that if the election were held today, I would vote for You, Fred or Ranando before I voted for another Republican!

Good thing the election is a year away, a lot can happen in a year.

I appreciate your stand and the Supreme court being up for grabs is partially how we ended up with GWB for another 4. BAD MISTAKE! IMO.

The implications of a liberal supreme court, Hillary in the WH, and a Demorat congress would be Disastrous...

IMO it is time to send a message. We the people will not stand for RINOs, WE will not stand by and vote for the (R) because the alternative is bad. WE the people will have to make sacrifices NOW to ensure that the next time we vote (R) across the board, it is not handled the way this President handled it.

If we continue to vote for the (R) because of the reasons you give, WE the people will keep getting it in the rear by the (R)

If Rudy, or McCain get the nod, it might be worth sacrificing 4 years to send a message, we came through Clinton OK, Hell, CARTER, gave way to Reagan.... I think a message needs to be sent.

MY two cents... and I still have a year to make up my mind as to WHO gets the Check mark.

To date I have written out money to none of the candidates. I will never vote for either of the following two names in the President list: Clinton, Bush.

Ever.

These are not the Adams' and neither family deserves another member at the top spot again.

After that I have deep problems with all of the field on different things, each disturbing on their lonesome. I will vote *against* Clinton... or a Bush for that matter if that name ever comes up at the top of a National ticket again. If the Democrats are just plain slime, the Republicans have not shown themselves up to be anything they proposed to be for a couple of decades now: they have only marginally delivered on any promises, and actually broken a host of them. At this point the two party system is the problem, not a great benefit to the Republic.

Any 'third party' must not aim at the top spot from the start and actually aim at the center-right democrats and Rhino seats in the House and the Senate. A small third party with just a handful of Representatives, say 20, and even 4 Senators will become a 'Kingmaker' in US politics. That is a minority party that needs other sides to curry favor and moderate its stances so as to get just a few, significant votes. That would be a NATIONALIST party: not a true conservative or liberal party, but one that stands for the Nation and keeping it to its designed size and get it the hell out of our lives.

Currently that is missing from both parties. And any party that wants to start at the TOP is not serious about its views. So I will not be handing a third party my vote, either, until it demonstrates some ability to actually get some folks behind it and wade into the swamp and start pulling the alligators out to find the drain.

Still a long way to the election, but two names are stricken from my agreement to them as President. Ever. No matter the character of the individual involved, enough of those families.

I'm done with Bush, I'm obviously done with Clinton. But with the insanity the Dems reveal on damned near a weekly basis, each harebrained scheme, each socialist push merely ensures I'll absolutely not stay away from the polls, and I'll absolutely not throw away my vote for a "no possibility" write-in, nor shall I vote for a Demorat. What's left?
