Bloviating Zeppelin: Some Questions

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Some Questions

When we are Conservatives, and we no longer seem to have a GOP that believes in Conservatism . . .

Then what do we have?

And where can we go?

I'm really asking the question because, more and more it appears to me, I really don't have an answer. I thought for the longest time I did.

And now?

I really am not sure.

The picture above? That's how the Left sees the GOP.

How do we, as Conservatives, see the GOP?

We have to hang on to the GOP and force the RINOs out. It's that simple and not worry about what the MSM thinks.

That's a bit of my point, Shop. I don't doubt the aim -- just, how do we do that?

The old addage "power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely" comes to mind. when Mr. conservative first gets elected and goes to washington he seems to have the desire to vote on issues based on conservative values. but when it comes re-election time, earmarks for constituents and supporters looks like the way to stay in the office they have grown to like, too much. I'd like to see term limits, and I'd like to see the retirement benefits congress has voted for themselves stopped so congressmen and senators have to come back to the country and the taxes they created.

How do we see the GOP? One word: LOST

The reason is, the GOP has LOST it's way, LOST it's values, LOST it's principles....

The one candidate that could have gotten them back is not in the race, there are a couple left that MIGHT have the vision and courage to get it back but it is HIGHLY doubtful.

I've been watching your election fairly closely, and am having a hard time seeing much of a difference, with the exception of the Dem's increasing taxes, and a bit of anti war talk that fell off the face of the earth after the success of the surge. They all seem to want to play with health care in some way, and are tending to avoid your up and coming social security issue. Thompson seems to be the only one who's been consistant in his message, but I don't know to much about his history.

From an outsiders prospective, it looks like only bazillionars can run for President, so you don't get to many real conservatives running, and end up with only the usual politically elite suspects.... it ain't much different here either... :-(

And as an observation, the 'religious right', a huge force in Hucksterbees run, is nothing more than the American Taliban...

Some have all but said in the past, if you don't vote Republican, you are evil, we will attempt to destroy you, Bush is Gawwwwd and whoever comes after him, as long as they are Repubs, they can be Gawwwwd too...

Ring any bells??

the religious right is the american taliban?

funny, I can't seem to recall recent American Christians raping and killing women for showing too much ankle, or hanging apostates and infidels, or blowing up any bhuddist temples or shrines. humm, texas fred, are you trying for the rosie o'donnell truthfulness in commentary award?

I'm choosing not to engage Texas Fred this time.

The GOP is confused. It doesn't even recognize itself in the mirror.

When it comes to a political party, I keep my expectations low. Something about history brings that out in me.

I still feel that the Republican party is the vehicle for conservatism. We just have to get a hold of the controls.

I don't think any of us expect perfection. But many ridiculous things have happened lately.

Mark, apparently this went over your head or you came in late to the game, this was addressed towards someone other than you, no offense intended...

As I heard someone say recently, I love Jesus, it's just some of his fans I have problems with, and you and Zane aren't those fans to which I refer...

The repubs have become more and more a reflection of the dems because to get the sheeple the MSM controls to vote for them they must go in that direction or the MSM vilifies them. Those of us who still have the ability to think clearly FOR OURSELVES see this dangerous trend, the rest of America seems to have its head firmly planted in the ground and their ass up in the air ripe for the taking.
