Bloviating Zeppelin: Rush: No Longer A Republican?

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Rush: No Longer A Republican?

This past Saturday afternoon, on a local replay of a Rush Limbaugh show, I heard Rush say that he was no longer a Republican. He made mention of having attended a recent dinner (evidently populated by other Republicans) wherein he heard, essentially, nothing but "compromise" spouted by those persons.

"Compromise," he noted, consists (and I readily grant and acknowledge this!) of Republicans ONLY reaching across the aisle; Republicans ONLY acquiescing to Demorats and that, in truth, "compromise" consists ONLY of agreeing with Demorat bills and programs.

This is in essence, Mr. Limbaugh stated, no compromise at all but instead a party capitulation.

And I agree.

And I was shocked to hear it.

Rush Limbaugh said that he was no longer a Republican.

Rush Limbaugh, the quintessential Water Carrier of the GOP for, literally, many years, has now disavowed himself from John McCain, whom he believes is nothing close to a Conservative (as I documented in this post) and now, further, has removed himself from the disintegrating GOP.

Again, at the risk of redundancy, I am shocked.

The GOP has sunk this low -- not news to some of my readers. But to hear it spoken by, likely, the greatest and strongest supporter the GOP has historically possessed? Quite frankly, I was stunned to hear his opinion in the open.

Additionally, Limbaugh asked: "Who will fight for us?" And he had no ready answer.

I concur, to a degree: this is a transition for Conservatives. And trust me, if the GOP somehow manages to stay its confused, tattered and capitulative course, it will hemorrhage members and power.

Because, trust me, Conservatives will always find an outlet for their philosophy.

In the meantime, Limbaugh espoused an interesting thought: he's for Clinton staying in the race. He's for Nader staying in the race. Anything, he says, to sow confusion, hate and disarray into the Demorats' chamber.

Again, I agree. Because a Demorat House, Senate and White House has the capability to completely turn this nation into the worst of Third World countries.

And they aren't called Third World countries for nothing.

  • The Demorats want "compromise" with nations seeking only our clear downfall;
  • The Demorats want our energy policy to equal pedal-cars and national bankuptcy;
  • The Demorats' answer to any problem only involves more money;
  • The Demorats believe you're not paying nearly enough taxes;
  • The Demorats' goal is complete and total Social Engineering;
  • The Demorats know that this goal is accomplished through control of education;
  • The Demorats' want nothing less than a Socialist society;
  • Controlled by Government;
  • Their Government;
  • The Demorats don't believe in national sovereignty;
  • The Demorats learn nothing from history;
  • The Demorats don't believe in Evil;
  • The Demorats don't believe in any religion save that of themselves and Global Warming;
  • The Demorats are the most narcissistic and navel-gazing of parties;
  • The Demorats believe only in keeping people dependent upon services;
  • The Demorats don't believe in human independence and self-reliance;
  • The Demorats don't believe in learning to fish, but only in providing minnows;

Which is why, somehow, somewhere, some time, they must be defeated.

Rush Limbaugh supports the War in Iraq.

Over 3900 American Soldiers have died to help bring Talabani to power in Iraq. Talabani meets with, hugs, shakes hands with Ahmadinejad today in Iraq. Ahmadinejad is responsible for most of those Soldiers death.

I for one am glad Limbaugh is leaving, don't let the door hit you on the way out Rush.

If Rush is such a great mouthpeice with the Conservative Party and has such a giant following, why is McCain the front runner?

IMO, Rush is one of the reasons Conservatives will not win the White House. He's a legend in his own mind and in the minds of people that just don't understand the World around them.

If Conservatism is what we've suffered through for the last 7 1/2 years, I want nothing to do with it whatsoever! We've had the circus, now who is going to pay for it? Thank goodness I haven't had to pay with my life yet.

point is, conservatism is NOT what we have had these past seven years. why? because the republicans caved and elected a rather centrist/populist George Bush then, remember? there has not been a conservative in the white house since Reagan.
Bush spends money as bad, perhaps worse than many liberals. nuthin fiscally conservative about him. but, both dem's running are promising even more spending than even Bush could think of, so where the hell can you turn?
I think conservatives need to abandon the republican party and organize a party of their own. that will not help this election, but it might the next.

I still think the ordinary people of the repub party are conservative, but large chunk of the Repub POLITICIANS have certainly become nothing more than Democratic Party to the right in order to pander to the MSM to get elected. I do think that conservatives should form a new party since it is obviuos that the "leaders" of the party have gone away from the conservative values in order to blend in with the MSM desires.

There are some Republicans whom, I believe, are actually Conservatives, CA Senator Tom McClintock for one. But I'm not so sure the bulk of the GOP (NOT the electorate, but the politicians) can be brought back. Perhaps a Third Party is -- I hate to admit -- maybe, kinda, in order. I am at a loss as to how the GOP can otherwise be assembled or brought back. They are -- well, I'll save those thoughts for another post.

Rush also advocated Texas Republicans voting for Hillary in the primary, BZ. He said that it would help put the democratic party in turmoil if she could pull off Texas. Well, maybe so, but I truly can't bring myself to do that. It's like Old Soldier said on my post about how to go about voting in the Texas Caucus "voting for either Clinton or Obama would be like looking at your feet and trying to decide which one to shoot." (paraphrased)

I think Rush is simply attempting to see that the Democratic Party turns into as big a mess as the GOP. Guess I can't blame him for that!

Bz,

I would like to ask you, Gayle and the others how they think the Conservative Party got to where it is today?

We can all blame the Democrats until hell freezes over, but until we stand up and acknowledge the mistakes we,ve made, this Party will continue to spiral downword.

It is time for some of us to take responsiblity for your actions.

Ranando: I do not disagree, but the whole bushel of Repubs completely fell apart when we HAD the power, the House, the Senate, the White House, and the bunch couldn't rally around themselves, couldn't make decisions, spent time in confusion (I think that's south of Tombstone), wouldn't unify, wouldn't actually stand up on their OWN two feet and USE the power they possessed. It was as if they felt GUILTY or embarrassed about even having it in the first place!

The GOP is not what we want but their problems are not nearly as destructive to the entire nation as the Donks. Sometimes you just have to go with the lesser of two evils.

just look at this last primary and you can see the GOP electorate is brain dead, and maybe a bit schizophrenic to boot.
Just a few months pass between all the outrage over McCain-Kennedy and them coronating McCain as the nominee. WTF?
one has to assume the either border enforcement is a non issue with this bunch (but then why the outrage this summer?) or they are unable or unwilling to look and see who acts in their best interest in Washington. my bet is too fucking lazy to put down the controls to their wii or xbox to spend five minutes on news during the day.
who ends up in washington is a result of who we elect!!!!
politicians are a RESULT of the process, electors are the REASON!!!
(well, not much reason there these days)
we HAD some good candidates, they didn't get a second glance.
yeah we need a conservative party, but, we need keep the boneheads out of it. maybe an IQ test, like, can you name ANY former presidents, or, hand them a stick of gum and send them around the block and see if the come back with a bruise on their forehead or something....
