Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Disheartened

Our US Supreme Court recently ruled that those who wish to kill us, who wish to eradicate this nation completely, who do not comply with any aspect of the Geneva Convention, who purposely target civilians, are due their day in civilian courts -- that they are not enemy combatants. They deserve the same consideration as a person in Traffic Court.

At its heart, the 70-page ruling says that the detainees have the same rights as anyone else in custody in the United States to contest their detention before a judge. Kennedy also said the system the administration has put in place to classify detainees as enemy combatants and review those decisions is not an adequate substitute for the right to go before a civilian judge.

This is precisely why I continuously emphasize the critical importance of Conservatives controlling SCOTUS and American education.

Based purely on the ages of the current justices, the nation's 44th president can reasonably expect to fill at least one vacancy.

Of the five justices who created a majority in the case of the Guantanamo detainees, Justice John Paul Stevens is 88, Ruth Bader Ginsburg is 75, and David Souter and Stephen Breyer are each 69. Kennedy is 71.

And why I shall vote for McCain over Obama.

Please note these very important pull quotes from The Associated Press:

Justices Stephen Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, David Souter and John Paul Stevens — the court's more liberal members — joined (Justice Anthony) Kennedy to form the majority.

In a blistering dissent, Justice Antonin Scalia said the decision "will make the war harder on us. It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed."

Chief Justice John Roberts in his own dissent to Thursday's ruling, criticized the majority for striking down what he called "the most generous set of procedural protections ever afforded aliens detained by this country as enemy combatants."

Justices Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas also dissented.

Trust me when I tell you that, as a result of this ruling, there will be a major media "show trial" (or several) on the order of the OJ Simpson trial and, having that trial and the freedoms of the American judicial system pushed into the faces of the American Electorate and, with liberal attorneys queued up for miles to represent those "oppressed persons" (read: "I'll make a public name for myself!"), taking advantage of and exploiting every fatal flaw, nook, cranny and chink in the American legal armour -- two things will happen:

1. Islamic terrorists will only be emboldened and
2. The American electorate will only be so more enraged

Those politicians and administrators controlling America are clearly taking this country down a prognosticated path whose destination seems to be headed towards a conflagration of dissent, storms and fiery violence.

But, of course, more about this later as things progress or -- more appropriately under a complete Demorat Rule with Obama and a like-controlled House and Senate: deteriorate.

P.S.
The photo is that of the average Guantanamo cell. This is cleaner than anything any detainee has ever encountered in their life.

'Ol Fred is gonna cheer about this, but I've got to throw some blame for this on the administration, these asshats should have been delt with years ago, by dragging their feet forever they gave the radical libs time to whine and snivel and cry and blubber about how mean we are to the terrorists. yeah, the court really f--ked up. but Bush pretty well gave the libs the ammo to shoot at him with, didn't he?

There is the option of putting them in with the general population and telling the inmates these guys are child molesters.

Too bad McCain and Obama agree on the closing of Gitmo... the SCOTUS started this last year in the Hamdan decision and now continues to blur the distinction of what sets civilization apart from the Law of Nature: putting the negative liberty of warfare into the hands of the State *only*.

That firm and clear dividing line is what creates States and Nations, and we recognize the difference between those who fight in illegal war and those who take up arms for the State: those waging legal war get protections of the law - those who do not fight for a state, but for themselves get nothing. We put warfare under the control of the civil state so that we do not have common war amongst ourselves. The SCOTUS wishes to remove those boundaries and give protection of the law to those that seek to take down all laws, all Nations and put all peoples under their yoke of terror and tyranny.

The political parties have forgotten this as have the politicians: they now no longer distinguish between what is acceptable under nature and what is acceptable as citizens of a State.

That is decadence: a high state of decay.

Those peoples who have forgotten this in Ancient Rome, Babylon, Egypt, Hittites, Greeks... they have all come to nought when common warfare taken up without sanction becomes the norm. You do not retain civilization under that... and the ruins of their civilizations are a testament to their folly.

Now we follow suit.

What I am afraid of, in the long run (provided there IS a long run after these nutjobs get released back into the killing fields) is that the illegal invaders from south of the border will take this ruling and start claiming that they, as PEACEFUL members of the world's population, should receive the same rights and privileges under the US constitution that the Gitmo detainees receive...

So much for the protection of the Constitution - "When everyone is Super, then no one will be." - Syndrome, The Incredibles

Fred, sorry I wasn't clear, you cheering about me throwing some of the blame on the administration. no, I hardly think you'd cheer this decision, there's way too many fools in our government! and way too few of them, and the electorate as a whole, understand what an absolute travesty this is. AJ's comment is right on point, if our government does not get some brains REAL soon, this republic is down the shitter. you cannot govern by what feels good at the moment, or by what is politically expedient. laws have to mean the same thing today as they did yesterday, without rules, you have no society! any idiot should know this, but few do, or care.

Mark, OK, I understand now, lately I have had a lot of people taking me to task and I was seriously wondering what the hell I had done this time...

In a similar vein to Gitmo: BREAKING - Militants attack Afghan prison and free inmates

We'll get to fight and/or kill this bunch all over again..
