And you know, that is the truth if ever it was told...

You just KNOW that Obama would be the epitome of hypocrisy...

That would work for me. Redistribute his money first.

I just watched Obama's 30 minute infomercial. He never once mentioned McCain or Palin, he talked about himself and what he would do as President.

IMO.....like him or not, that's how you win an election, you sell yourself.

I wondered what McCain's infomercial would be about, Obama?

If McCain for some wild reason loses this election, it will be because he spent all his time talking about Obama and not selling himself.

Ranando, boy could I go lots of places with that comment, but man, there just isn't sufficient room in the comment section. And I really, ultimately, wouldn't be saying more than I (or many others) have already said on prior occasions. Such as: "Democrats don't win elections; Republicans lose them."

BZ,

All I can say is if I were McCain's marketing or campaign manager, he would be 20 to 30 points ahead at this time and the name Obama would have never been brought up and that's a fact.

He would be blowing Obama away.

Oh and let me add, Palin would not be his running mate.

The name of the game is to win, win the White House, that is what this is all about. Either you want to win or you don't, I like to win, period.

No questions about winning where I come from.

Not so much fun when it's your wealth getting spread around, is it?

HA, Ain't that the truth!! What a pompous asshole!

I wonder if there will actually be another civil war when he loses? Maybe I'll go out and buy some extra ammo----just in case.

Ranando: curious -- who might you have selected for VP? For that matter, who might you have selected for president?

That's a great question BZ.

Let me think about that and I'll get back to you.

I will say this, any Republican that voted for the bailout would NOT be in the running.

Blogger Ranando said...

If I could pick a dream Republican ticket to run against Obama and Biden, if it was up to me. I would pick two people with a proven record, two people that would win hands down. Two people that the American People trust believe in and could go to bed at night knowing that the President and Vice President would take care of them.

Two people that if our Military was called to action would be sent to win. Two people that would end the Bush/Chaney era. Two people that could easily stand up and win support when dealing with assholes like Pelosi and Reed.

I would have picked a Powell/Rice ticket.

God help us ALL... Ranando, you have finally LOST IT...

And for the love of God, it's CHENEY, not Chaney...

You may be right Fred, but one thing for sure.

I wouldn't be losing the election.

"Spreadin the welf a-roun.. Dats what I is votin fo."

The above is an exact quote from a person in line at the 7-11 this morning, I had my McCain/Palin Coffee mug...

Oh and the lady was HISPANIC....

On the VP pick I disagree with Ranando... Shocked, I know...
If it werent for Palin McCain would be 30 points behind. IF you were the manager of McCain you would be losing because the message is not one of true conservatism. That lipstick on pig statement is a double edged sword.

The fact is WE have a choice to make. I am making my choice for McCain based on his PROVEN Character, HIS KNOWN Flaws, HIS Willingness to cross the lines to get shit done, and most importantly I am voting against OBAMA because of the UNKNOWN.. The failure to answer questions and the media's hiding the truth...

The fact is Ranando if Bush had the Media policy that Obama has had, his approval rating would be sky high. You are about to see what fascism looks like.

Ranando - Colin Powell and Rice?

The Colin Powell who just endorsed the Obamanation?

Now, that's funny right there, I don't care WHO you are...

We HAVE the right people on the ticket! The problem lies with the so-called campaign advisers and managers. I've seen things right here in our blogging circle that could have made a difference. You mean to tell me that they don't have anyone, some campaign peon, watching us? That's their bad!

That's the one Cary.

The one that kicked ass in the first Iraq war.

The one that served Reagan and Bush Sr.

The one that served in VietNam.

The one that served Bush Jr as SOS.

The one that served as JCOS of our Military.

Yep, That's the one.

So, Ranando - you think it good and proper to endorse your OPPONENT?

Man, you are more backward thinking than I thought...

Average American nailed it.

The candidates are fine, they just aren't selling the message like they should.

Palin's a fine VP candidate. Notice how the media has dropped her like a hot potato?

If she really were as inexperienced and unclear on the issues as she'd portrayed, the media would be falling all over each other for sound bites.

If there were a downside to putting her on the ticket, it would be the fact that she has (arguably) more executive experience than McCain.

I have a BIG surprise for ya Ranando, Powell was NOT kicking ass, he was duckin' and coverin'... He was pretty pacifist even back then, he kissed ass to get GENERAL...

Norman Schwarzkopf was the hard charger, and Bush 41 fucked THAT deal up when he stopped Schwarzkopf from taking Baghdad in '91... The Bush family are a bunch of fucking idiots when it comes to warfighting, and they have had a lot of folks kiss their asses to get somewhere, just like the *certain* bloggers that blew him, you DO remember those accusations don't you?? You made as many of em as I did...

I am seriously thinking that you haven't lost your mind, you're so all over the goddamned screen because that way there's NO WAY that you can be held accountable for anything, a return to the Ranando of old maybe?? No shame, no blame, just another game??

Just askin'...

Personally I would have had a MUCH easier time voting for Powell, than either of the current choices... BUT Powell also did not have too "Vote" on bills. or sign his name to some of the more controversial propositions..Folks like Condi, Powell and Palin have the luxury of NOT having a voting record that pisses people off.

Powell could not vote "Present" during the Iraq discussion, and Ranando.. LEST you forget BOTH SIDES and ALL the intel in the world pointed to the same thing... AND in case you forgot there was a huge boom in Syria two years ago. hush hush..

The fact is Iraq is a cluster fuck, History will determine whether it was NECESSARY, it is a cluster because it was handled poorly. PERIOD Move the hell on!

Will Obama bring them home in his first week in office??? HELL NO! He already said "Things have changed on the ground"

Obama actually told the Iraqi leaders to KEEP our troops there until the election? Where is that on your "Truthful" meter?

McCain is NOT my ideal candidate.. He is what we are given and I will be in Palin's corner until such time as she proves to be a wrong choice. Her fuckin wardrobe aint it, neither is he speech pattern ror the so called trooper gate.. Try harder.

How about Palin/Hunter in 2012... that's got a GREAT Ring to it.

AA: but here's the rub; it isn't JUST McCain/Palin and their campaign whose tactics I would change -- the ENTIRE G.O.P. need to sack up, get some balls, some new leaders, some new meat in the RNC, and STAND UP for their alleged Conservative views!

Rustmeister: hey, thanks for reading my blog, and thanks for the comment! Please come back any time, sir. You've a great gunblog yourself, I see. And yes, most ANY Conservative or, more pointedly, ANY Republican can't seem to sell themselves and stand for their Conservatism. I'd really like to see what Palin would say if McCain were to take the choke chain completely off.

This may come as a big surprise to many but in my world it is possible to admire someone and not agree with them politically.

One example I can give you right off the top is the owner of this blog, BZ.

I admire the relationship he has with his wife. I admire the way he always shows respect when speaking about her. I admire his server to my country. I admire that he gets up everyday and goes to work to make the State I live in a safer and better place. I admire the way treats others on his blog.

Yes, I admire BZ and NO I don’t agree with him politically.

The same goes for Powell, McCain and many others.

But than again that’s just me and I really like the world I live in.

I used to think I could admire someone and not agree politically, but, sadly, I now don't admire anyone who could vote for Obama. It means they aren't listening, they don't know America's history or it's founding tenets, they want a very different AmericaN than we thought would ever exist (one with a hand OUT instead of looking for a hand UP), etc.

CHARACTER. Obama's lied about so many things that for me to admire someone who could still choose a president who lies like this would be REAL stretch. There are SO many things about him that need explanation or justification..etc..and he's not supplying it and people don't care!

And, the way his thugs treated Joe the Plumber is Stalinesque...admire someone who doesn't get bugged by an American being mocked and humiliated because he disagreed with THE ONE?

I don't think so. Sad to say..but, no.

The sad thing about McCain is, when he's talking about Obama, it's IMPORTANT! He's trying so hard for Americans to WAKE THE HECK UP! He said he only lived in Ayers' neighborhood..remember? THEN the truth came out. etc etc etc

CHARACTER has always been an important thing ot American voters....of COURSE a man like McCain wants Americans to see what they could get. I don't wrong him for that...but the left's painted it as NEGATIVE CAMPAIGNING.

wow

I'm not big on extremes. In my opinion, both sides sucked big donkey balls in election conduct.
They always do.
But Obama got a free pass. He isn't called on his negativity, whether it's sly and backhanded or up front and direct.
McCain defends his position, he's an angry, bitter old man.
Obama defends his position, he's pointing out the opponent's weakness.
I made up my mind over a year ago when everyone said McCain was dead in the water. He's the ONLY one who has a realistic view of the war in Iraq. We can't just walk away. Ever. We never could.
The middle east is a tar baby that every president since Isreal's inception, has had to deal with. Whether the Commander in Chief ignores it or not, it will continue to be a field of blood. Whether we will continue to waste American lives in conflicts we don't finish is entirely up to us. We've left every conflict since WWII unfinished. Korea, Vietnam, Haiti,Iraq in '91, Somalia, and Bosnia have all been military actions we've begun and then dropped.
McCain is the only one I see who understands that if we leave again before the job is finished, we will face another wasteful war in our history books.
I'd rather NOT get into these conflicts, but when we do, we have to finish the job.
As far as redistributing the wealth? Both the Democrats and Republicans have spun the numbers so much, they're all jumbled to me.

I dont know about admiring one with a different political view but respect, yes, that can be done. I can admire someone with a differing political view if it is in regards to something other than politics like in my carreer. I can admire someone who has subject knowledge or work ethic but exclusive of their politics.

Lead by example, Obama, isn't that the mark of great leaders? Can you share a personal example of a time when you took part of your income and redistributed it to the poor? What, you mean that hasn't caught on among the leftist illuminati?

Ranando: thank you for the compliment; I still think there's room for disagreement and room for pointed but respectful banter. If there's one thing with which I have strived on this paltry little blog since its inception, it's an attempt to not break into name calling. I may, ahem, "name call" on a larger, more global perspective but name-calling and then applying it personally? I try very hard not to do such a thing. On the other hand, for whatever reason (okay, I KNOW why, it's because I'm not widely read - shucks, I'm well aware of that) I don't seem to be any kind of a Troll Magnet.

Z: political admiration? No, I would tend to go with you there. When you step into politics you enter another realm entirely.

Jennifer: concur. McCain is far from my so-called "ideal" candidate but he is what he is and his campaign is what it is. All I knew and all I know is that I will NOT vote for Obama (and I did NOT vote for Obama!), in my opinion, a vote for a candidate other than McCain = a vote for Obama. Personally, I could not countenance that myself.

LMB: Barack Hussein Obama is NO LEADER whatsoever. It is clear and his indicators are abundant. He is a charismatic individual who draws on melanin, timing, speechification, tidiness and an overall electorative dissatisfaction with the past administration in combination with the massive American political swinging pendulum.
