Bloviating Zeppelin: Bike & Tower

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Bike & Tower

This is a view of my work site from multiple thousands of feet. The photo shows the area when it was a USAF SAC (Strategic Air Command) Alert Pad, attended by B-52s carrying nuclear weapons.

I chose the name "Bloviating Zeppelin" for my blog as I opine on politics, and I am not a small person. In 2004 and 2005, I happened to lose roughly 80 pounds. I have mystically managed to put a good deal back on, much to my chagrin.

As you can see, there are a number of roads here at work where I may walk, "run" or bike. I am trying to lose weight once anew.

Above, you can see my new bicycle, a Trek Navigator 2.0, with 21 speeds, a very comfy saddle for my ample derriere and an upright riding position in consideration of my ailing back.

Above the bicycle is a tower, originally utilized for security on the site.

My daily regimen at work consists of numerous laps on the bicycle, then it gets parked at the foot of the tower. From there, as many times up and down the tower as I can muster. I'm actually becoming consistent and religious in my daily workouts.

I'm starting to feel a lot better these days.

I know what its like. I sit at a terminal all day long and when I get home I'm just too mentally exhausted to do anything but veg out to relax my mind. Keep at it with the excersize.

Good for you, BZ! Just navigating the tower up and down once looks like a pretty good workout to me.

My granddaughter has a problem with weight. She'll go on a mission to take it off, but takes it off too fast and just puts it back on again, so now she's going slow with a more reasonable eating plan. I think if you take it off slow, and with a meal plan that you can live with for the rest of your life, you won't gain it back. At least that's the theory.

Agreed. Hopefully some more hiking around Dutch Harbor/Unalaska will help me shed a few pounds this summer!!

I used to weigh less when I walked to work but don't do that anymore.

YOu're inspired? Blow on me!
Suddenly 10 lbs crept up...but I'm very tall, so everyone "says" it's unnoticeable.
I hate it...you're right, you don't feel so good.
I'm glad you're feeling better.
Neat bike! I look at that tower and want to sit DOWN!

Ahh, that takes me right back to the days of Imagery Analysis! Like those lovely underground Syrian sites for missiles and WMD storage that I looked at a few years back. Such fun!

Build your stamina for those of us who can't. My damaged energy recovery system doesn't allow for such... but I do keep my mass stable and low otherwise and sympathize with how it can get away from you. Statins did that to me before laying me low... have to watch how meds can do that to you.
