(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Obama Administration: Dissension Will NOT Be Tolerated

It is a truism that Sonia Sotomayor, Mr Obama's 54-year-old nomination for SCOTUS to replace retiring Justice Souter, said in a 2001 lecture in re her Hispanic (read: Puerto Rican) background:

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life."

It is also true that White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs warned those persons with questions or curiosities about Mr Obama's nomination that they'd be labeled racists and sexists if they did or said anything that could remotely be interpreted as being less than fully and completely supportive of Sotomayor:

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs issued a pointed warning to opponents of Judge Sonia Sotomayor’s Supreme Court nomination Wednesday, urging critics to measure their words carefully during a politically charged confirmation debate.

“I think it is probably important for anybody involved in this debate to be exceedingly careful with the way in which they’ve decided to describe different aspects of this impending confirmation,” Gibbs said.

This was in response to the comment of Newt Gingrich where he reacted to Sotomayor's 2001 statement above.

In her Wall Street Journal column on Friday, conservative commentator Peggy Noonan panned Gingrich for Twittering that Sotomayor should withdraw because a white judicial nominee would have to if he made a similar statement on race.

Is this a wrong statement by Gingrich, or a correct statement?  I personally believe it to be true.  So, what's the fuss?

The fuss is: dissension will not be tolerated by the Left and, apparently, not much on the Conservative side as well, considering the reactions by various so-called Conservatives.

I have been labeled a racist and sexist for quite a long time now, but all you have to do is just look at WHO is making those accusations...

Uber-Religious American Taliban and faux conservatives...

Go figure, just because I call a SPADE a SPADE... Sort of... :)

I am sorry but someone personal opionion has no place on the court bench. The job of the court is to determine if the law is according to the constitution or not. It is not to be decided upon by your life experience, race, religion, personal convictions, sex or sexual orientation.

WMD and TF: Gingrich is 100% correct; and what's good or bad for a Conservative is good or bad for a Liberal. ANY remark even remotely similar to the one made by Sotomayor, by a Conservative or Republican, would be displayed prominently on Liberal media for weeks. The bleating would be ceaseless.

Hypocrisy reigns supreme.

As much as I don't like it, I think she'll be approved.

unfortunately, i'll have to agree with pcc....approval is likely - - but it doesn't mean we should let her approval happen without any discussion about her lack of qualifications to be an associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

this impending confirmation,” Gibbs saidWow! That's some confidence, isn't it?

If the GOP doesn't stand up against the confirmation, the Party is done for. It might already be done for, but not opposing Sotomayor would be the final nail in the Party's coffin.

Soon you will not be allowed to talk about the 'stimulus' projects as that just might cause a teensy problem.

And remember SS has problem with the Second Amendment, which will be an ever so fun thing to see on the SCOTUS if she gets by the Senate. Strangely she couldn't even pass the test to be a juror on the cases she presides over... ahhh... Leftist 'justice' and 'fairness' at work, where the State gets all the power and you get what you are given and told to do.

Citizens have not purchased 1.5 billion rounds of ammo since Christmas for no reason at all... and put enough new arms in the hands of private citizens in a quantity that would arm the entire Chinese Army. There is a statement being made in those figures. We are coming close to that cascade point, but are not there yet. When it comes only one event will trigger it... possibly even a trivial one, but that is coming. The rate of change still to pass through is high, and push will be coming to shove... save that Americans don't like being shoved unlike their Euro counterparts. The discontent always starts civil... always. And it is never those engaging in civil discussion that move it from there, it only happens with cause. Republicans have done nothing to scale back the causes over the last 30 years. At this point it isn't 'if' but 'when'. The sides are already formed, on one side Liberty and the other Tyranny.

1.5 billion rounds of ammo don't lie.

And now, apparently, the O's Justice Dept is dropping the charges against the Black Panthers who brandished nightsticks, intimidating voters at that one polling station.
