(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Honduras: Everything You Know Is Wrong

Most Americans think there are riots occurring in Honduras, that a military coup was held, that the civilian powers were removed -- and that it was a complete defeat for the country and freedom in South America. Honduran President Zelaya was removed from power by the Honduran military on Sunday and flown to Costa Rica.

People couldn't be more wrong. Hondurans did the right thing for the right reason. The military removed President Manuel Zelaya because:

Roberto Micheletti, named by Congress to serve out the final seven months of Zelaya's term, vowed to ignore foreign pressure. He insisted Zelaya's ouster was legal and accused the former president himself of violating the constitution by sponsoring a referendum that was outlawed by the Supreme Court. Many saw the foiled vote as a step toward eliminating barriers to his re-election, as other Latin American leaders have done in recent years.

Let's do some dot-connecting together, shall we? Zelaya was a resounding friend of Hugo Chavez, who is essentially President-For-Life in Venezuela. Zelaya was building his bond and political strength linking to Chavez and many believe, myself included, that he intended to make himself pseudo-Dictator in the mold of Chavez, patterned after Castro.

Seeing the death of their Constitution and the fall of freedom, Honduras attempted to retake their sovereignty. A military leader was not installed in place; instead it was a civilian politician who is a Honduran Congressional speaker. That bespeaks volumes in itself.

The world, in the meantime, complained bitterly -- as did our Mr Obama. He said, "We believe that the coup was not legal and that President Zelaya remains the democratically elected president there." Had it been another country, Mr Obama clearly would have condemned our own American Revolution seeking severance from Britain.

And who is barking directly alongside Mr Obama? Why, that would be Daniel Ortega of Nicaragua, Hugo Chavez of Venezuela.

Where is the support for revolt which fights for freedom and against dictatorship and oppression?

[This just in: Juan Diego Zelaya, who is general counsel to the mayor of Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, and is an adviser to the National Party, the opposition party to former President Manuel Zelaya -- writes this about the Honduran situation. He calls it a CONSTITUTIONAL coup. Please check out the article.]

As closely as I can tell, you have that entirely right and (as usual) Obama has it all wrong.

There won't be any (from the Left, that is). Obugger said it was BAAAAD (because Hugo told him to)...so the media echoed his judgment...and, anymore, the sheeple Left just gobble down whatever Obugger and the Fourth (Branch of Goverment) Estate tell them...

3S10 & Dr Dave: at first blush, if you don't read or listen to the reasons behind the removal of Zelaya, you'd think it's simply the matter of more military dictatorship. How many people REALLY look or listen closely to stories, to attempt to get to the reasons for actions?

Dr Dave: thanks for visiting, welcome aboard and thanks for taking the time to comment! Please come back again!

This ILLEGAL coup, the one that concerns Obama so, is also a form of living government. Zelaya has been on the receiving end of an INSTANT RECALL!

Tell me that’s not a sure sign the voters are pissed off!!

What I cant understand is why he was flown to Costa Rica instead of Venezuela or Nicaraugua. CR is nicer than either of the other 2 but that is beside the point.

You are absolutely right in your assessment. The MSM in this country wouldn't tell you - but I found articles in German newspapers which come to exactly the same conclusion. It has nothing to do with a military putsch, and everything to do with people exercising their power.

That does, of course, not fit well with the communists in power in so many of the States of the Americas, including the current occupant of the WH. It shows HIS true colors, doesn't it? Now we understand why he didn't protest against insulting speeches at the recent OAS meeting - because he agrees.

But this shows another thing: With the current voting system in the U.N., the real democratic states, all 30 of them, are hopelessly in the minority. So, the dictators and communists can find a majority anytime. This is why I believe the U.N. needs to be restructured and located at Lagos, Nigeria, or completely dismantled.

Micheletti called it a "Constitutional succession." When you know the details, you know that's what it was.

After the Supreme Court and Congress told the man he could not hold a vote to extend his time in office, he had Chavez print-up the ballots anyway. The Honduran military had possession of them. Zelaya broke into the storage facility and took them and was readying to distribute them on the day it all went down.

I also read that in December he tried to national oil companies into one and again, Congress would not let him do it and the US Embassy advised him that it wasn't a good idea - so the US knows what's going on.

Business leaders said after he raised the minimum wage by 60%, 150,000 jobs were lost in the last 6 months.

I find it exhilarating that a country protected their constitution. Now I guess the proof will be if the military DOES NOT TAKE OVER, and Congress and the Supremes remain.

Thanks for that link to the "other" Zelaya.

Clearly, what happened with Zelaya in Honduras was not a typical Latin American coup. The BHO administration knows this fact, but is spinning the news and, largely, deceiving Americans who don't keep up with political affairs in Latin America.

I will say, however, that the WaPo recently pointed out in a lead editorial that the removal of Zelaya from office wasn't really a coup. Of course, at the same time, the editorial defended BHO's stance. Talk about a blatant inconsistency! I haven't had time to check out the letters to the editor to see if any readers took the WaPo to task for that contradictory editorial.

BZ, I sense the same thing. Leave it to honor and a good Constitution to mess up someone's best laid plans.

Barack Obama instituting the 'No Dictator Left Behind' idea... embrace tyranny, disdain liberty and freedom. The man is horrific and I can't see how any 'liberals' can support him. The Left does, assuredly, but then the Left loves dictators and tyrants because they want to emulate them.
