(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Videos For The Obtuse: 1. Cap & Tax; 2. ObamaKare

I hand selected these videos purposely so that even the dimmest of bulbs amongst us, who "drive-by" various Conservative blogs, could understand Mr Obama's nation-and-economy-shattering plans. Demorats: go upstairs and get your Mommy to explain the ramifications (ram·i·fi·ca·tion -- Function: noun -- consequence, outgrowth) of the videos to you (we're fully cognizant your baby-daddy won't possess the Mental HP to do so). You may then go back down to the basement and resume play of World of Warcraft. If the phone rings, remember: it's McDonald's wanting their shirts back.

I. Cap & Tax:

II. ObamaKare:

Enjoy.

Consider yourself warned.

The guy who did C&T has done other videos for the group, and this one about Arlington, VA...

These two and the guy who does the pennies to demonstrate the federal budget... clear and easy to understand. Now if we could just get Zucker to do a few more... ahhh... how unfortunate these things have to be made to point out the obvious to the clueless.

Two great videos. I was impressed with Cap and Trade until I saw Health Care. Thanks BZ. I think I'll steal them some time this week.

How in the world do we get people to understand? The temptation for something free is just too much.

BTW, I keep telling my husband that if Health care is passed, we will never be able to turn that around. He didn't quite agree that we could not recoup, but IMO by the time existing health care and private companies are dismantled, it will take decades to get back on track - and even then, the victim status will have to be upheld in some way.

Anyway, Rush has made the same comment - can't turn health care around once it gets started. I don't know what he knows, but we must find a way to articulate this.

Why are we not hearing about Massachusetts?

Mr Z - Dumb Looks are always free!

So is my commentary and writing... which tells you exactly how much I value them. It is in one of these two statements on the exact, same thing:

1) You get what you pay for.

2) The best things in life are free.

You have to decide which is which. And, believe me, editing my material is not for the faint of heart. Still plugging away at The Modern Jacksonian and the M-5 story, and haven't even gotten to the cross-over fiction. But then I'm too busy getting ready for the coming inflation... as soon as I get what I need, I'll have to put up a post on where to find the material at low cost. It can be done...

I went over to the link from the first video. Ye gods! How can this household afford this additional tax burden?

I'll watch the second video in just a few minutes. If it's worse than the first one...

Maggie: it will be a complete destruction of the healthcare system as we know it, AND it is forecasted that NOT everyone will be covered, and that it WILL kill providers and de-incentivize doctors who will leave the profession.

AJ: coming inflation, just as you and I have warned for some time.

AOW: both those bills are nation-killers. And both on TOP of our deficit of current TRILLIONS.

Oh get real. Man, the right is nothing but negativity. Guess that comes with being part of the party of No and no ideas.

Foster the idea of long waits is a pretty poor lie to perpetuate. Except that those whom you pass it on to are retards anyway.

And lemme guess, you're global warming deniers also, right?

Ld - I am not a 'denier' as I do not see the evidence to support the case. I am a trained geologist and have examined the evidence as presented.

I have some bad news for the 2001 UN Conference: their datasets were off. Anyone depending on the pre-2006 datasets has to deal with a systemic computational error at NASA in the compilation of the global temperature map: it is unrelated to a Y2K bug but is a date dependant bug. Secondly over half, and as many as two-thirds of all sea level gauges cited by both the UN panel and Al Gore are in subsidence areas, geologically. The actual readings once adjusting for overall tectonic changes demonstrates a +/- 4" over the last century with the last two decades not only NOT at a high water mark but well within the range given. Third the long-term oceanic temperature map shows a slow but steady seawater temperature decline not only at surface ranges but to 20m subsurface (that via the ARGOS array). Fourth Antarctic ice is at the furthest ever recorded in our measurement history. Fifth, polar wind conditions were pushing sea ice higher and those shifts have now returned to normal bounds, in fact the sea ice is now moving further down during the winter than can be remembered in living history.

In short every single item that those pushing AGW have put forth have either been off due to computational error, other systemic error, or changed due to conditions not well understood but having no apparent causal connection to overall global temps.

Further, the globe naturally takes a much warmer climate as demonstrated in geologic history: approx 12 C above current. We have a problem of a non-pangea array of continents and a divided global ocean, plus very fast moving plate activity with vulcanism to go with it. We cannot put all the carbon back IN to the atmosphere that was present in the carboniferous, when it was 20x higher than today (ditto for methane and water vapor).

I see well explained geologic facts, current facts fitting into a geological context and no indication the sun is doing much out of normal bounds. If you have better global datasets show them to me. I have looked at all the major ones previously used and NASA, NOAA and the UN have had to admit systemic error multiple times. I deal with the facts, not conjecture and superstition. Show them to me. We can't deal with the things that will happen to this continent within the next century that make any hysterics over GW look like a nice day in the park. If we can't prepare for those, then we have a real problem on our hands... and one nothing we have or look to have any time soon will save us and it is absolutely out of our hands. I'll see you a global warming and raise you a Yellowstone.

Great rebuttal AJ. Add to that many places on earth where roads and civilizations have been found at sea depths up to 500 feet. As example, 4000 years ago, Iraq was a much larger area, the sealevel is 500 feet higher now. There are roads under water in the southern Gulf of Mexico. There are remnants of previous civilization just offshore from Greece. Ice has been melting into water for thousands and actually MILLIONS of years. Besides ld, your supposed expert scientists can't tell you what the weather will be TOMORROW, how in HELL can you believe they know what it will be in 10 or 100 years? Go drink some more frigging koolaide you idiot!

BZ, guess what the "if it's free, it's for me" people that do not pay taxes do when they have to wait 50 days to get a doctor's office appointment in Boston? Why they go to the emergency room of course. After all, it doesn't cost THEM anything! And then everybody wonders why health care is going through the roof. Try shutting off the faucet to all these deadbeats, addicts, and ESPECIALLY the illegal aliens that are currently glutting the system and creating these problems. There's an automatic 25 % savings just by doing a little clean-up!

AA - The end of the last ice age was 10,000 years ago, give or take. We had a lot of continental shelf exposed: there was a land bridge between what is now Britain and the rest of Europe, similar between Alaska and Asia, a waterfall over 300' high just off the coast of NOLA where the main drainage system came out.

We are in an inter-glacial period and all OTHER inter-glacial periods point to sudden and drastic climate changes up and down without man. We have had the warm period that ended around 1300 with the Little Ice Age that just receded at the beginning of the 20th century... the warmest year on record was, if memory serves, 1934 then 1982, then 1935... in fact most of the hottest years last century were before 1950. Check the dustbowl for that.

AGW? Since when? And why did the previous inter-glacial periods show the same sort of changes as we see in this one? AGW has always been suspect and scientists did not 'declare it to be true' but asked for the data to be checked and when it was it was found to be in error. Simple things like not calibrating the standard instrumentation properly... the little things in life were overlooked in the rush to get data out the door. The rush is over, the data has been checked, the inaccuracies removed, the calculations redone, and the old datasets demonstrated to be invalid, thus all research based on them must be re-examined and most of it tossed out as work done on bad data. That is science. It is a process, not an end.

Sadly AGW is now a religion. Acts like one, too, and not a nice one at that. Its backers will join the people who still believe in the Elders of Zion, Trilateral conspiracy, Velikovsky and Lysenkoism (though that now looks to be doornail dead and its followers very few Stalinists). Einstein had even gotten his math wrong on Special Relativity and had to issue an amendment to it once he realized that. Weggener got the idea of continental drift right, but could offer no physical mechanism and was laughed at... right, but wrong, but right... without the theoretical backing that can be checked, you don't have science.

AGW made predictions, they have not proven out. Therefore, when the theory cannot yield valid results it must be dropped. We did that to much of the Ancient Greek systems of natural philosophy, static continental theory, evolutionary theory, electomagnetic theory... only Entropy has stood to become the one guiding light on how the universe works.... and it, like relativity, frays at quantum theory.

You gotta love the universe as it is! Show me the data, back it up, demonstrate a disprovable theory, make accurate predictions based on such theory and ensure it integrates with other areas of science. That is why quantum theory is so much fun: its hard to integrate but easy to demonstrate.

I suggest you all write a letter to your great-great grandchildren regarding your denial on man's involvement in global warming. Put it in the family bible or another safe place. See if you won't be regarded as the family fool in several generations. I assure you-you will.

Anon: I don't think anyone here denies that we need to remove ourselves in a reasonable fashion from dependency on the Middle East and make ourselves as independent as possible. However, NOT at the ruination of our country and NOT as part of ANY package that take an already precarious economy and pushes it farther into the ground. I see little if any response to the facts and observations of AJ. You call the Right religious; your views are predicated only but upon your own Religious Left views.

It's about FAITH.

I call for a supportable energy future that does two things: gets us clean production of electricity at low price AND removes the industrial infrastructure from the biosphere.

I always have and always will.

The cheapest place to gather the energy that drives the majority of this planet is not on the planet but outside of its biosphere and atmosphere where the sunlight runs clean, continuously and it is cheap and easy to put up collection space. To do that requres that we do as we did with aerospace and incentivize the movement away from terrestrial sources and to space based ones. We promised airmail contracts to those with proven flight technology, and we should offer salvage and repair contracts for satellites in orbit that are dysfunctional or dead. By putting in turn-around times, limitations on low level pollutants, and incremental rewards for power generation from orbit and use of non-terrestrial resources, we can get there in 30 years or less.

You want to end fossil fuels?

Then offer Gerard K. O'Neil's Princeton plan of the High Frontier done in the 1960's. It was given a firm and economical base for technology THEN, and we can do far better than that today if the government just gets out of the damned way.

Offer incentives to companies to build IN SPACE using Lunar and other resources, which will help no end in getting 'clean rooms' for high tech concerns. Those wanting Cap & Trade have no vision beyond the mid-20th century, no future beyond what that poor and lethal century could offer, and no political insight at all. Offer something far, far, far better, encourage and invest IN that future and don't expect OTHERS to pay for it.

Support goes with your mouth.
Money goes with your support.
There is a space industry that needs support, utilizing everything from rockets to DIRIGIBLES to get to space. I bet you could find one to support and invest in a better future for us all.

I have.

Support, Mouth, Money.

Don't ask ME to pay for the grand schemes of politicians. This is an engineering feat beyond any government, and yet can be done incrementally by the private sector. And the construction/resource/build time analysis is already DONE. We can do better and cheaper, but only FASTER without government.

And I still don't see the numbers for global warming and I THANK those in the past who put an extra log on the fire to stay warm when the Little Ice Age hit. Without that we wouldn't be hear to talk about it.
