Bloviating Zeppelin: Freedom of Speech?

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Freedom of Speech?

A wonderful video that I cribbed wholesale from The Political Jungle:

A British atheist speaks the truth about freedom of speech -- an interesting slant from a very interesting source -- involving the threat that Islam poses with regard to freedom of speech.

International law? Outside the United States? "Community cohesion"? The US Constitution being the anchor for all of Western Civilization? Islam acquiring as much respect as it gives? Zero? Learning nothing from what's currently happening in Europe?  All that and more.

Pat Condell hits on the key point: the United States really is the last, best hope for the entire planet. And this from an avowed atheist.

I put this up yesterday BZ. Condell is always straight-on when it comes to free speech.

It's a great video, is it not? We can't become so wrapped up in internal politics that we forget part of the larger and global Islamist picture. Islamists never sleep, never stop, and will take all the time necessary to enable their goal.

My friend, I'm sorry to say it but The damage is done, merely with the original consideration of such an imbecilic act of "investigation" and its announcement. Now the fat is in the fire. No one will be foolish enough to do their patriotic duty for this moronic democrat administration or future ones with the name democrat on it.

BZ,

I agree.

America was asleep for a long time leading up to 9/11. I fear that America is making that same mistake again right now.

Pat Condell is sounding the warning bell. Please, please, may the West listen!

Community cohesion? Bwah-ha-ha-ha-ha-!

I'm a Christian. I hear about more anti-christian episodes coming from all corners of the spectrum and you don't see me running around crying about it to anyone!

My Constitution gives me the right to free speech. No matter what I have to say. I only disagree that free speech has to be true speech. It can be false. The Left proves that every time one of them open their mouths!

I can say what ever I want about Islam or the Islamic religion. I do it every time I take a dump.

Condell makes many good points the British have a way about them in their speaking that many Americans like. Free speech is always under attack and has been so more in recent years than in the distant past.

There are some Atheists who are backing down on pushing a materialistic agenda now because they see that "for some people" religion is a moral and philosophical necessity.

They're right about that part but their wrong about His existence.

Professor of Life: first, welcome to BZ and thank you for visiting; thank you for taking the time to comment as well. I had been fearing for a time the result of an Obama administration and the willingness for those potentially placed in harms way for America to MAKE those necessary sacrifices if they find themselves politically hamstrung and chopped off at the knees at some point. For allegedly Humanist natures the Demorats little understand the true nature of Man or his motivations.

AOW: we can never sleep. Period.

James: thank you kindly for visiting and for taking the time to peruse and comment. Welcome aboard. You know, you make an excellent point about, essentially, pogroms against Christians. Few people realize those things.

Ron: correct; and challenging speech should be protected as well, not just milktoast speech.

Shoprat: and that proves, once again, that when you attempt to limit the free speech of others -- it will come around, sooner or later, and limit YOUR OWN speech.

France has 'no go' zones where North African Islamists are carving out their own territories inside the country. Plus rioting 'youths' and car-b-ques, all done by those same Islamic populations of which you dare not speak.

The Netherlands has similar neighborhoods, as does Sweden, Norway and the UK. Germany is seeing Turkish Islam going radical and now faces up to not having enough citizens willing to do the work to pay for their social infrastructure... or defend the Nation. Italy is on the verge of a population collapse in 20 years, and do they really expect pampered 30 year olds who haven't moved out from home to run the Nation? Russia, similarly, is trying to flex any muscle with its rapidly aging population, yet has trouble keeping a military together for even small operations. You can't have a large Greek wedding of the old style any more, as the large Greek family is now a total of 3 or 4 people. Japan, too, faces a demographic implosion as young women don't marry until their late 20's or early 30's. China had a one-child policy that now is going to cause a massive shift in demographics as young and middle aged men have no one to marry.

It isn't just western liberalism that is dying a death of old age die off, but eastern autocratic rule of the Chinese and Russian modes, as well. Only some of this is due to automation and improved public health, which allows low infant mortality and extends life by its effects. America still has a population growth curve upwards, slowly but upwards, and immigrants who come to the US typically have smaller than normal families in their first generation, so we aren't importing people to do this as a job we won't do.

The social welfare system, be it democratic socialism of Europe or autocratic socialism of China have failed their peoples, and Japan has witnessed a government that has believed it can public works its way to solvency, while piling up one of the largest debt loads of any Nation on earth that its citizens don't really care to pay off and would rather do something else than raise a family and work for a living.

The State taking care of its citizens, per citizen, doesn't work and leaves citizens less interested in supporting their Nation, their society, their way of life or even of defending themselves. We are only a few years from a plurality islamic population in France that can sway elections. Stockholm is seeing this locally, as is Amsterdam and other cities. China is getting its western fringes chewed at by Uighars funded by Islamic radicals of the Hekmatyar and al Qaeda stripe and the country has no antidote to that save killing and hoping they might be able to import enough people to overwhelm the local population... with an ever decreasing Han population in the east.

I've seen the effects of the State trying to do things best left up to individuals. Why anyone wants that is beyond me, given what is coming and what we have already seen.

The only bright spot is how quickly Islamic governments go corrupt... still, that is decades to wait and by then modern western liberalism's fate will be sealed one way or the other. I prefer the old fashioned style, but that means not joining a herd of open minded, independent thinking lemmings racing over a cliff.

You have once again, Mr AJ, nailed it quite so succinctly. Those populations who deign children too "dirty" or "untimely" or too "agrarian" or too "invasive" or too "limiting" are those populations to be replaced, obviously, by those who think the opposite because, after all, Nature and all other systems abhor vacuums, yes?

The young people advocating their FREE CHEESE will one day be shocked, SHOCKED I TELL YOU to find out that their CHEESE was only enabled by those who WORKED and who fed INto the system.

Imagine that. Huh.
