Bloviating Zeppelin: ObamaKare Passes the House

Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

ObamaKare Passes the House

ObamaKare passed the House, in the dark of night, on a Saturday -- not during the week, not in the light of day.

Appropriate, don't you think?

It passed 220 to 215 -- a five vote difference.

Pelosi is beside herself with glee.

From AP:

At its core, the measure would create a federally regulated marketplace where consumers could shop for coverage. In the bill's most controversial provision, the government would sell insurance, although the Congressional Budget Office forecasts that premiums for it would be more expensive than for policies sold by private companies.

The bill drew the votes of 219 Democrats and Rep. Joseph Cao, a first-term Republican who holds an overwhelmingly Democratic seat in New Orleans. Opposed were 176 Republicans and 39 Democrats.

To pay for the expansion of coverage, the bill cuts Medicare's projected spending by more than $400 billion over a decade. It also imposes a tax surcharge of 5.4 percent on income over $500,000 in the case of individuals and $1 million for families.

America, you have little idea what you're about to get. It will be something that, essentially, cannot be taken back.

You'd best be closely examining WHO voted for this abortion in your area.

It doesn't surprise me that Cao "deactivated" his email contact feature on his website following his vote. Run and hide politics.....

Don't trip BZ, the House just passed a bill that disallows abortion funding in the healthcare reform. I like that. I was hoping that the liberals and cons alike could come to a consensus that government funded abortions are a bad idea. At least some people have common decency in the world:)

Don't count on it staying that way - they'll figure out a way to get around it sooner or later.

The costs and provisions of this legislation are outrageous! Comments from the WSJ with my input are here (Don't normally tout my own blog, but this is important)

The left does what it wants. What the Constitution says, what the law says, what the people want and what the left themselves publicly say are all irrelevant.
