(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Audi's Super Bowl Ad:

I'll wager a percentile of my readers despised Audi's Super Bowl advertisement.

I submit: in truth, you should love it.

Why?

Because it mocked the Religious Left scathingly. And it did so in the open, clearly, publicly.

I'm sure many of you were thinking: this hits a little too close to my future home. And you'd be correct. There are those on the Religious Left who believe these things should happen to Americans right now.

On the other hand, the bulk of America understands: the premise is simply "out there." But it does draw attention; and it may in fact sell Audi cars.

Audi has gotten my respect. They smacked the Religious Left upside the head and smiled whilst doing so. Better yet, the bulk of the RL are too doltish to realize this.

Finally, the CARB (Fornicalia Air Resources Board) has done its level best to ensure that the thriftiest cars, diesels, don't propagate in this state. Zounds! Diesel! Diesel Bad!

Except that everything you touch, move, consume, drive, want, need, has been moved by diesel-powered conveyances: diesel-driven SHIPS, diesel-electric LOCOMOTIVES, diesel truck TRACTORS.

You ignorant Leftist dupes.

MEANWHILE, BACK AT THE "GLOBAL WARMING" RANCH:

"Global Warming" is predicated upon nothing but lies. You will not read the truth in American media. As a matter of fact you won't read anything about this in American media. You'd have to visit the rather liberal Guardian UK news sites in order to suss anything resembling a balanced view.

For example, from Guardian.co.UK:

No apology from IPCC chief Rajendra Pachauri for glacier fallacy
Head of UN climate change body 'not at fault' for false claim Himalayan glaciers would melt by 2035

Climate emails between scientists reveal flaws in peer review
Controversy behind climate science's 'hockey stick' graph

Lies, lies and more lies.

Propagated by the Religious Left.

BZ

P.S.
I loved the green shorts and pants on the GP, the GEM electric carts and the Segways. All you Hot Tub Elitists are soon to get yours! And remember, just as the end of the commercial portrays: the Green Police trump all!

Somehow, I do get that chilly feeling that if given a free rein, those wackos would be more than happy to arrest us and put us to work on an organic farm...

Great commentary and great article - I love the phrase the Religious Left - did you coin it, because it is brilliant.

TF: on the other hand, how many times have these assholes been PROVEN to be FALSE "Prophets"?

Dolley: I started with that phrase back in 2009, because I thought that's what they were:

The Religious Left.

Facts be damned! Other opinions be damned! Any other possibilites be damned!

It wasn't about Reality, I sussed;

It was all about FAITH!

Hence: the Religious Left.

Yep. I coined it here first.

Yes you have to love how the World Wildlife Fund gets so many mentions by the IPCC as sole sources for the claims in their vetted reports... and when you go to the WWF you can get popular magazine articles as citations for those claims! Yes REAL SCIENCE done by the WWF...

Oh, wait...

Yes those lovely Himalayan glaciers going around 2035... IPCC to WWF to New Scientist to a guy hypothesizing about climate with nothing, de nada, to back him up. Why with science like that, anyone can make up claims!

Mind you a real glaciologist who spent years studying the Himalayan glaciers reports them to be advancing over the last decade. Going farther, not shrinking back.

And Kilimonjaro? Glacier free at the end of the last ice age... turns out that the presence of glaciers is an independent variable on climate there, at best... at worse is just the opposite of what AGW doomsayers foretell.

Arctic sea ice was pushed north by trade winds for a number of years. Since 2005 they have returned with avengeance.

Greenland? Not losing glaciers, as the gravitometers are reading, but having them advance as people on the ground and via satellite surveys measure.

Antarctica? Greatest expansion of ice into the sea since records were started for the place.

Gotta love the AGW religion. Gets both magnitude AND direction of change dead wrong.

And the Green Police had best watch out for combinations of carbon, copper, tin and lead. All natural! And some parts can be sent to greet them faster than the speed of sound...

Good post BZ and you're right, it's not often they do that, like never.

"Facts be damned! Other opinions be damned! Any other possibilities be damned!"

That covers it and them, and it helps to have some rocking music as well instead of the freaking ghetto technorap we hear so much of today.

BZ,
I loved this commercial. There are those in the Left, "Religious Left" as you call them, who want this to occur. Good post.

This was a cute commercial and one that actually knock the green pretty hard---that was my take. Audi did a public service on this one.

As for global warming---glaciers are always shrinking and expanding depending on where you are on the globe. To point out one spot while turning a blind eye to another is not using the scientific method.

As for the melting of the glaciers on Mount Kilimonjaro at the end of the last age ice, I still trying to figure out why Hemmingways Leopard was at that great altitude.
