Bloviating Zeppelin: If Mexico Says No, I Say YES

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

If Mexico Says No, I Say YES

Mexico doesn't want the 700 mile border fence built.

Huh. Imagine that. First, that actual American politicians would back a bill such as that (perhaps they are actually receiving the screaming message transmitted by the electorate) and, second, that the Mexican government would not want that to happen.

Hmm. From Reuters:

The U.S. Senate overwhelmingly backed a bill on Friday to put up about 700 miles of fence, a project Republicans hope will impress voters calling for tougher immigration control ahead of November 7 congressional elections.

Bush had hoped for broad immigration legislation that would create a guest-worker program, which would match workers with jobs Americans are unwilling to do. But House Republicans had pushed for greater emphasis on sealing the porous frontier.

You bet. First, seal the borders. Seal them completely. At the same time seal and secure the ports and any other methods of transport or trade into and out of this country. At the same time begin to actually enforce laws already present in terms of illegal aliens and deport ANY alien suspected of a crime within our border.

Let's face it: this has worked for the Israelis. I suspect it, and concomitant technology, shall work for us.

This isn't Rocket Science, people. Simply common sense. Are the pols actually starting to come around?

I shall wait to see.

When I saw that about the additional 700 miles of fence I was happy. The cries of the American people have been heard. We must give them credit now that they have made a step in the right direction.

LMC: For once, I have something to be proud of -- that our pols have perhaps been listening and have acted on our collective wishes.

It is a step, you are correct. They must make more steps and I shall encourage them in this direction at every chance.

Gayle: I am beginning to think the message is sinking in. I actually have some hope on this issue.

Blo, I think they are coming around to doing what the people want. sadly though it took us screaming about it. We can really thank ourselves and people like Sean Hannity and O'Reilly who led the fight. Sean actually went there and did a series of nights where he was hangin' with the minute men. I really have a lot of respect for Sean he seems to really back up what he believes.

Rebecca: good point and bad point: bad that it took such a hue and cry from the American public, to get the pols to begin to actually do their jobs; good that the voices are actually starting to be heard, and this sets a nice precedent insofar as, if we can unite in great numbers, we may actually be a driving force for issues.

Because guaranteed, had the public not taken the issue due to primarily the Right, nothing and I mean NOTHING would have been done about illegal immigration and the electorate would have been set on continuous Ignore Mode.
