Bloviating Zeppelin: American Officer Killed

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

American Officer Killed

A U.S. Border Patrol agent is dead in California after being struck by one of two vehicles fleeing toward the U.S.-Mexico border during a pursuit by law enforcement today.

The officer, whose name has not yet been released, was laying spike strips across the road in the Imperial Sand Dunes recreation in the southeast portion of the state at about 9:30 a.m. when he was hit by a Hummer believed to have been driven by smugglers.

The Hummer and a Black Ford F-150 pickup truck escaped into Mexico, Supervisory Border Patrol Agent Jeremy Schappell told the Yuma Sun. It is unknown whether the vehicles were carrying drugs or human contraband.

"Right now our Mexican liaison unit has contact with the Mexican authorities ... try and track these individuals down," Schappell said.

Where will be the justice for this dead officer? The suspects have already fled back to Mexico. Do you actually believe Mexican authorities will hunt these suspects down and turn them over to American law enforcement?

In the meantime, for shooting ONE Mexican drug dealer in the ass, two USBP agents sit and rot in prison.

Where is the equity? Where is the logic? Where is the outrage?

I am fairly close to the Canadian borders.I keep thinking...if this happened to our border agents here, not only would there be outrage,it would be splashed all over the news. I cannot fathom Canada behaving as Mexico does...and I often ask...our borders are our borders, regardless of geographical location..why the difference ?

The outrage is right here inside of me BZ.

How many times is this going to happen before one of these asshat candidates stands up and speaks for our border patrol?

Such a shame, such an unnessary loss, this did not need to happen.

I feel for his family, such a needless loss.

F**k George W. Bush and his immagration policies and F**k anyone who stands with him.

God Bless this fallen officer.

I think this story is mis-titled...

Should read, George W. Bush to be charged with accessory to murder...

There's plenty of outrage, BZ, but obviously not nearly enough! Ranando asks how many times this will happen before a candidate speaks for our border patrol. It will be interesting to see whether or not any of them do. Now that it looks as though Thompson is out of the race I'll back whichever one does, unless it turns out to be Ron Paul!

Gayle,

What's sad is that any candidate has to speak out on this, it should have already been taken care of, long ago.

Like September 12, 2001.

Excellent, Excellent post BZ. What a great example to show to America how insane things are getting. Where is the outrage?

Gayle, our candidate might as well be Ron Paul. It seems the GOP is sinking to a new low lately.

When the hell is our border patrol going to get the same orders that every other border patrol in the world gets SHOOT TO KILL ALL INTRUDERS.

I'll say it again. This hasn't changed since Pancho Villa. It has been sickening for years. It makes me want to puke.

I don't know how we can continue to have an unsecured border with Mexico. I don't know how come we haven't built barriers already.
