I Think I'm Liking The Swine Flu

The swine flu may turn out to be our friend in disguise:

Lawmaker wants border closed over swine flu

The "swine flu" that has infected more than 1,000 people in Mexico has led a lawmaker on the House Homeland Security Committee to call on U.S. officials to close the southern border.

Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.) said the border should be closed until the threat is resolved.

That's the first Demorat who's had a good idea in a long time.

  • They used to name these flu strains by where they originated like the Hong Kong flu or the Indonesian flu. We need to call this flu what it really is Mexican Pig Flu

  • I hope you're right, BZ, but I have my doubts about them actually doing it. I'm thinking they wouldn't close the southern border for any reason, whether it means death for many Americans or not. Do they care about the lives of Americans even a 10th as much as they do their agenda? I truly wonder!

    55 CHILDREN died of the flu in the 2008-2009 season but you heard NOTHING about it.

    This is just a smoke screen by Ballsack to remove focus on the fact that the US govt under Ballsack's control is taking over the free enterprise system. Even if GM declares bamkrupcy the govt will control 50% of the giant corp. They already control the 6 largest banks in the US thru the TARP money which they REFUSE to accept payments on. They FORCED Chrysler into a deal with FIAT (pretty much controlled by the Italian govt).
    How much more proof do Americans need to realize what Ballsack and his handlers are destroying America???

    W/Fred Close the Border Completely.......don't we have a supply of landmines that we are not allowed to use anymore in other contries?
    W/WMD Yeah, this is all a smokescreen by the Obamanation to scare the public into accepting more socialst control.

    And DOES ANYONE feel better when that TWIT Nepaltaino, who thinks the 9-11 hijackers came to the US from Canada, is NOW in charge of protecting this county from a Pandemic?

  • I was thinking the same thing the other day. It takes THIS to close the borders? Great news, but the mere fact that they are hesitant to do it even now is sad.
