(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Monday Conundrums

I write this post on Sunday, in reflection of the day in general and a conflucnce of incidents that have somehow managed to place us all here, today, in this precise locus and flow of time and events.

I aim to tie it together; my aim may be off and I admit that freely up front. I am a small blog in a huge, HUGE pond and -- it still amazes me -- if I continue to have readers I can be placed into the "astounded" category.

I can only THANK my readers for sticking by me through thick and thin and all points in between. I am not the slickest blog or the prettiest blog or the most technical blog and -- again -- I admit this readily up front. I am akin to a Techno-Luddite.

That said, I can only hope that people may still continue to read me because I proffer some truths now and then.

Some truths that you can't or won't read on other media forms because people fear this. They fear the truth. They fear the consumate triumvirate of training, education and -- mostly -- experience.

Which leads me to an overall evaluation of our current state of Conservative Politics. As of today: Monday, 1-30-12.
Romney and Gingrich are fighting each other. My take on both:

ROMNEY:
Too slick for his own good. Never a hair out of place. I couldn't care less about his Mormonism -- BUT -- his Mormonism wasn't evidently sufficiently in place for him to object to abortions earlier. Or gay marriage. Or state-mandated healthcare. Or increased taxes. A publicly-hocked lugie wouldn't stick to his visage. And he has more money than Croesus. On the other hand:

Romney has a private business acumen that is rivaled by few. He took Bain Capital to new heights. He actually DID create NEW jobs as opposed to Obaka Spiritual Jobs. He turned the Olympics around. He is known, to a select few, as an Improver. You give him a private sector problem and he'll turn it around for profitability. The problem he must overcome is this: profit is now considered EVIL and, with it, himself as EVIL. Bottom line: if anyone can fix capital problems, it's Romney.

His religion keeps him personally faithful. But is everything else up for grabs? Is he what you wish to be when you wish him to be it?

But WHO is he -- exactly??

GINGRICH:
Yes, former Speaker of the House. And no one, NO ONE, disputes his innate intelligence. Wherever he goes, no one with a whit of brainpower denies that he's "the smartest man in the room."

That said, is he and will he be the most Sensible Man In The Room?

Truly, no one knows. Gingrich is Jekyll and Hyde. One face one day or moment, another face or moment another day or moment.

And like a number of men in power, he went through women like some people go through toilet paper. It's about the power. No more than that.

If it was terrible for Clinton, it should be terrible for Gingrich. But it isn't. Because things are skewed. Gingrich married his squeezes. Clinton just fucked them and moved on with impunity and predominantly wasn't called on it until the very end of his White House.

CLINTON vs GINGRICH:
The former wife of Newt Gingrich made reference to an "open marriage" and, now, Newt is taken to task for that.

Contrast and compare:

When was the last time, do you think, that Hillary and William actually enjoyed conjugal relations? Or even slept in the same zip code?

RON PAUL:
Mr Paul is a Truther and a Nutcase. He associates with white supremacists. He has great ideas about our monetary system and the Rederal Reserve. He tends to go Constitutionalist. He is for Less Government. No debt. States' rights.

He thinks drugs should be legalized. He thinks our borders should be porous. He thinks we should have no interest or reference to extranational affairs.

That crazy crap just can't stand.

And so: imagine that Republicans haven't come to a one-focal-length intensity point.

Illuminate me. Tell me where I'm wrong.

Hit me on second base.

My sister is a Republican. This morning she said to me that her take on the Republican candidates is, "Is that the best you can do"? referring to the party as a whole.

I will probably do what I did last election. Hold my nose, vote Republican, and then consume many adult beverages.

Your analysis is on the money.

Well…
Romney isn’t too Mormon to lie to the American people.
His most egregious statement is that Gingrich resigned in disgrace and that he did not have the votes to continue as speaker. Both are lies. Gingrich’s support may very well have withstood an up and down vote, and everyone should realize that the standards of evidence for ethics charges in the House run somewhere between rumor and reasonable suspicion, (far short of what citizens would call probable cause). It was a fishing expedition. He was exonerated of all 84 effing counts. The fine was inflicted because (he) his lawyer did not reveal that contents of “Renewing American Civilization” were developed at GOPAC offices, which is immaterial as the films themselves supported no candidate or party by name. This truth was later upheld in a real court some years later. Gingrich agreed to extortion to end the matter. The300k was not a fine but reimbursement to the House ethics Committee for having to investigate the Speaker. The films used 501c3 funds with no more or less political content than that spewing from the Annenberg projects as an example.
Who was in charge of the Congressional Accountability Project expediting the 84 charges? The Green Party, Ralph Nader and Gary Ruskin. Yea, that’s whose side Mittens is playing up.
I believe Romney desperately wants this presidency as the ultimate accomplishment. Joseph, Brigham, and Mitt. He isn’t embarrassed by his wealth as some suggest, he’s embarrassed by his own naked ambition.
Romney is the establishment candidate after 6 years of campaigning. The establishment, lead by John Beohner, who attempted to oust Gingrich in ‘97. Funny how I think many would agree that things got worse after Gingrich left, not better. The landslide of ‘94 yielded a lot of young and dumb politicians. They got their heads turned by democrat antics and were subsequently taken in by the snakes, the now established GOP.
Is Gingrich stable? Probably now more so than ever. The thing I believe is that he doesn’t want the title as much as he wants to build a legacy of success, true American Exceptional Success. He has a vision. I cannot say that of any other candidate. Ron Paul has a delusion. Santorum is an up and coming, but needs to step down, and Romney is a liar.
That was probably a rant, sorry.

You have it pretty much right all the way through.

The real picture? We have a political system that has been 100% hi-jacked by the two major parties and they decide who get's to take that office and when.

You no longer have a choice. In fact, Americans have had no choice for several decades...maybe more.

But the vast majority are still duped into thinking they are allowed to choose.

I have essentially dropped out.

Took my ball and went home.

I know which direction to head when it all finally comes unravelled.

If *looks* mattered, the Drudge Report would never get a hit.

The hard, cold facts of life BZ, THE TRUTH, keep on telling it.

As to the candidates listed, I know we have to choose one of them, but much as I felt in the last presidential election: None of the Above.

WSF: the real New Crew is waiting for 2016.

Leticia: thank you so very kindly for the nice words. God bless you as well, indeed.

∞ ≠ ø: you make some excellent points and thank you.

Timothy: and ain't it a frackin' sad comment that you have to think that way these days, in the finest nation in the world?

TF: and thank YOU sir, as well. But the bottom line is still: HOW do we REMOVE Obama from the White House??

Agreed that Newt isn't perfect. Who is?!
BUT, to equate Newt with Bill Clinton is unfair. Bill Clinton lied under oath and should have, in my opinion, been removed from office. (Thank God he wasn't... Gore would have been a shoo-in for election if he had.)

I'm a disgusted Republican, unhappy with my choices this election, but satisfied with one thought:
ANY of the "R" candidates will be better than the present W.H. resident.

NFO: sometimes it's crappy being correct. . .

Greybeard: my point was, Clinton swived everything that moved. Gingrich at least married his women. But the Power Thing still holds. They get power into their heads and let the alternate heads take them amok. Gingrich isn't Clinton precisely, that's a given. But that's the first area under the gun when claiming to be a Conservative.

I have to admit, I am increasingly displeased with Gingrich's negativity. Pull your head out of your ass, dude, and focus ALL your creativity and BOTH barrels at the asshole in the Oval Office!

Obama IS a Target Rich Environment! Why doesn't the current GOP stable GET THAT?

He can be SO easily NAILED with logic and facts!

Start with that and NEVER STOP. KEEP ON saying it! Talk about our credit rating! The first time, EVER, that we've been de-rated! The BILLIONS and TRILLIONS pissed away! The incredible DEBT!

And that's just the BEGINNING. . .

"proffer some truths now and then" BZ

I would say that it's always the truth as you see it backed up with factual support. Love this post. I have found the most disturbing thing about Romney is the fact his religion doesn't match his politics as you pointed out. We don't need another poser in the White House IMHO.

I have never cared much about how a person spends their private time if they are competent to lead the country forward, but... Newt lost me when he jumped on the Global Warming Hoax bandwagon and followed up with cozying up with Nancy Piglosi. I find that kind of confusion unacceptable in a real Conservative. You brought up exactly the "telling points" with the last candidates standing. I agree with Fred, it looks more and more like "none of the above".

I really enjoy reading your posts BZ. Keep em coming.
