Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Rain Along The Coast

I'm currently on vacation on the Fornicalia coast, enjoying my -- ahem -- birthday week. I've been posting when possible.

When we first entered Mendocino County it was quite rainy; we encountered a downed tree across the roadway and a downed wire from a power pole some miles later. A rather challenging drive, it was. Things cleared up for a day and now it is absolutely pouring and very windy.

Oddly enough, it is the kind of day I thoroughly adore. We can hear the waves pounding and barely see the entrance to the harbor through our veranda door.

Most people enjoy bright sunny days on their vacations; at the coast, my wife and I both appreciate the cascading of the waves upon rocks and jetties, the sound of the foghorn, the slanting downpour, the encroachment of ocean fog from the furthest point of visible land right to our very doorstep.

Whilst here we've visited two of our favorite bookstores, had a couples' massage and enjoyed the company of my brother and his girlfriend for two nights. The Jacuzzi tub in the room overlooks the mouth of Noyo Harbor and we watch fishing vessels leave and return.

For just a brief bit of time, we put politics aside and engage ourselves in the few moments my wife and I have to share together. These are the last meager days we will partake of each other; the contingent at my work has been decimated to the point where no one is getting the holidays off, save those with annual vacations scheduled almost a year prior.

My 35 years on board counts for little, when facility seniority rules. I have been assigned to my current position only slightly more than a year. There are other supervisors who have been here over ten years, but with much less overall time. They win, I lose. I am the interloper, they are the constants.

Who wants to have the holidays off, anyway?

Demorats: Predicting A Landslide -- For Themselves

One has but to check the various e-mails sent out to the Demorat minions to note the ebullience with which the Dems hold their chances of keeping both the House and Senate. They believe they possess the final tidal wave which shall keep them in power in order to do The Obama's Good Works.

With their adherence to the White House and Congress, one can rest assured that the following will continue and, in fact, be expanded -- perhaps exponentially:

- Spending: there is no limit to a federal budget. The word "limit" has no meaning because the pockets of the American Taxpayers are deeper than anyone can imagine.

- Taxing: there is no limit to federal taxation. The word "limit" on taxation has no meaning because the pockets of the American Taxpayers are deeper than anyone can imagine.

- CapNTax: American corporations have to be put in their place and bit-by-bit, systematically, broken down so that they become so incredibly needy as to beg for federal largesse and, further, forgiveness. CapNTax is not, make no mistake, about "saving the environment." It is, however, all about the shell game of moving dollars about so that DC gets the first and largest bite. The Mexicans have a name for this: "La Mordida."

- Regulation: it doesn't matter what business, what venture, what topic, large, small, all is immaterial. Everything needs more regulation and, by extension, more government monitoring and, by further extension, more government bureaucracy, more government employees, more government funding.

With the continuance of the current administration and the current power structure, you can expect, simply, more of the above -- to include the monitoring of your health, decisions on your health, monitoring your bank accounts, your funds, the removal of wealth, the minimization of the individual, the redistribution of power and wealth. Not to mention a lessening of national sovereignty and the ability to govern ourselves absent world courts.

If you enjoy all of the above then please, continue to vote as you wish. But beware of demographics, Demorats -- you may not care how they play out, say, twenty years from now.

Just ask Europe how it enjoys its investment in multi-kulti and socialism.

And oh, by the by, Gallup indicates someone may indeed be upset come November 3rd.

Finally:

Mr Obama and his minions still don't get it; more "stimulus" coming. An interesting pull quote:

In some of his strongest words yet, Thomas Hoenig, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, said Monday that more expansive monetary policy was a "bargain with the devil."

Even China is worried about further printing of the US dollar.

But logic is immaterial to Mr Obama; it's all about philosophy. You can be guaranteed his path shall not deviate a millimeter.

Here comes the landslide . . .

USBP Agent: Telling The Truth About ILLEGAL Immigration

This article is sufficiently important that I have reprinted it in full from PoliceOne.com:

By Thane Gallagher, U.S. Border Patrol

There really is nothing more annoying than being told that a law that you spend most of your time enforcing is merely a ‘civil infraction.’ Most media outlets use this term to describe an illegal alien’s presence, even those considered to be all about “no-spin” such as Bill O’Reilly. Not that I’m that surprised. You’d expect that from media types, however, it really puts a bad taste in my mouth when I hear elected officials using the same rhetoric. But the sobering reality is that many Congressional officials, despite their high priced Ivy League educations, don’t even know what the law actually says.

Well, what does the law actually say? Under Title 8, Section 1325 of the United States Code, “Any alien who (1) enters or attempts to enter the United States at any time or place other than as designated by immigration officers,…be fined under title 18 or imprisoned not more than six months, or both, and, for a subsequent commission of any such offense, be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than twovil infraction’ doesn’t quite describe this particular section of law. Sure, a suspect has the option of paying a civil penalty depending on a judge’s discretion, but clearly a jail sentence describes a purely criminal penalty.

Now, I’ve been in the law enforcement business a long time. Does it seem silly to anyone that I’ve been issued a sidearm, TASER, baton, handcuffs, and radio, given access to multi-billion dollar information systems, infrastructure, fingerprint technology and further, allowed to use very fast, very powerful patrol sedans and 4x4s to detect, apprehend and yes, sometimes chase down those people seeking to break the laws of this great nation, all for just a ‘civil infraction’?

The crime of “Entry Without Inspection” (or EWI, pronounced “ee-wee”), is a Misdemeanor for a first time offender. No big deal, but certainly not a ‘civil’ matter. By that definition, should DUI be considered a ‘civil infraction’? However, that same crime becomes a Felony once that suspect has been formally deported and removed from the United States, only to return.

Under Title 8, Section 1326 of the United States Code, “any alien who — (1) has been denied admission, excluded, deported, or removed or has departed the United States while an order of exclusion, deportation, or removal is outstanding, and thereafter (2) enters, attempts to enter, or is at any time found in, the United States,… shall be fined under title 18, or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both. For certain classes of aliens, convicted of other felony crimes, these aliens shall be fined under title 18, imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both.”

Yikes. I’ve personally arrested and been responsible for prosecuting hundreds of aliens under this particular statute and they’ve received prison sentences upwards of eight years, to be served in a Federal Penitentiary.

Again, what about any of that resembles a ‘civil infraction’?

In future writings, I’ll explain why then a Misdemeanor and/or a Felony crime is often handled through Administrative channels (a.k.a. Deportation). But let’s not make a critical mistake and view a system that is, by design, similar to that of ‘diversion’ for narcotics users, as one that relegates a Misdemeanor or a Felony crime to that of a ‘civil infraction.’

And what does this all mean? Well, like any law enforcement issue, it requires a little extra digging and research to see the fine print. Illegal immigrants, whether you encounter one on a street corner, vehicle stop, domestic call, shooting call, coffee shop, supermarket, hospital, etc., are not easily classified as merely committing a ‘civil infraction’ and in many instances, they can be considered a Felon just for their presence on U.S. soil.

For Border Patrol Agents, the act of trespass will either be a Misdemeanor or a Felony. But don’t believe those that seek to minimize these crimes as merely ‘civil’ because those brothers and sisters of mine that have died in the line of duty would beg to differ.

"Civil" indeed?

Please remember this when you hear our ignorant politicians speaking about illegal immigration.

Also note: "The Homeland Security Department says about half of the 392,000 people it removed from the country in the past year were criminals." And that's only from the small percentile of illegals actually in custody.

Assange Can't Stand The Heat

Julian Assange, he of WikiLeaks, can sure dish it out.

He's just decided to release even more American classified documents. From WikiLeaks.org:

At 5pm EST Friday 22nd October 2010 WikiLeaks released the largest classified military leak in history. The 391,832 reports ('The Iraq War Logs'), document the war and occupation in Iraq, from 1st January 2004 to 31st December 2009 (except for the months of May 2004 and March 2009) as told by soldiers in the United States Army. Each is a 'SIGACT' or Significant Action in the war. They detail events as seen and heard by the US military troops on the ground in Iraq and are the first real glimpse into the secret history of the war that the United States government has been privy to throughout.

He is bound and determined to undermine the United States of America to the fullest extent possible.

Despite the fact that new information indicates chemical weapons were indeed found in Iraq.

But he can't take it. He folds like a House of Cards when the light of revelation is shone upon himself. Imagine that. What a running c#@*.

When CNN, of all Leftist media places, lobs something towards him that isn't completely Softball in nature, he dives into the foetal position first, then huffs imperially off the set.

To question the Great Julian Assange is to invite heresy and chaos into one's life, clearly.

There exists what is typified as a civil war inside WikiLeaks. From the UK Independent:

At least a dozen key supporters of the website are known to have left in recent months. They say Wikileaks has ignored reams of new exposés because so much attention has been paid to the Iraq and Afghan conflicts.

The heavily encrypted arm of the website that allows users to safely send information to the organisation has been offline for four weeks, making new submissions impossible.

According to former supporters, the submission section is down because a number of key personnel have fallen out with Assange over the direction of the website and his behaviour. "Outside of the Iraq and Afghan dossiers, Wikileaks has been incapacitated by internal turmoil and politics," Smari McCarthy, a former Wikileaks volunteer and freedom of information campaigners from Iceland, told The Independent.

"Key people have become very concerned about the direction of Wikileaks with regard to its strong focus on US military files at the expense of ignoring everything else. There were also serious disagreements over the decision not to redact the names of Afghan civilians; something which I'm pleased to see was not repeated with the Iraq dossiers."

Wikileaks admits that one member of the submission team has left but says that wing of the website is down for a system overhaul and will be back online soon.

Yeah. Right.

Trouble in Paradise, sir?

Dissension within your ranks, sir?

Finally, the New York Times hones in:

LONDON — Julian Assange moves like a hunted man. In a noisy Ethiopian restaurant in London’s rundown Paddington district, he pitches his voice barely above a whisper to foil the Western intelligence agencies he fears.

He demands that his dwindling number of loyalists use expensive encrypted cellphones and swaps his own as other men change shirts. He checks into hotels under false names, dyes his hair, sleeps on sofas and floors, and uses cash instead of credit cards, often borrowed from friends.

Much has changed since 2006, when Mr. Assange, a 39-year-old Australian, used years of computer hacking and what friends call a near genius I.Q. to establish WikiLeaks, redefining whistle-blowing by gathering secrets in bulk, storing them beyond the reach of governments and others determined to retrieve them, then releasing them instantly, and globally.

Now it is not just governments that denounce him: some of his own comrades are abandoning him for what they see as erratic and imperious behavior, and a nearly delusional grandeur unmatched by an awareness that the digital secrets he reveals can have a price in flesh and blood.

Several WikiLeaks colleagues say he alone decided to release the Afghan documents without removing the names of Afghan intelligence sources for NATO troops. “We were very, very upset with that, and with the way he spoke about it afterwards,” said Birgitta Jonsdottir, a core WikiLeaks volunteer and a member of Iceland’s Parliament. “If he could just focus on the important things he does, it would be better.”

He is also being investigated in connection with accusations of rape and molestation involving two Swedish women. Mr. Assange has denied the allegations, saying the relations were consensual. But prosecutors in Sweden have yet to formally approve charges or dismiss the case eight weeks after the complaints against Mr. Assange were filed, damaging his quest for a secure base for himself and WikiLeaks. Though he characterizes the claims as “a smear campaign,” the scandal has compounded the pressures of his cloaked life.

I say again:

He can dish it out.

But apparently he can't take it.

Juan Wiliams: Fired From NPR; Given A Bigger Contract At Fox

NPR fired Juan Williams because, on the Bill O'Reilly show, he had the temerity to actually express an opinion. Mr Williams said, regarding Muslims:

Look, Bill, I'm not a bigot. You know the kind of books I've written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous."

The official statement from the NPR site:

Late Wednesday night, NPR issued a statement praising Williams as a valuable contributor but saying it had given him notice that it is severing his contract. "His remarks on The O'Reilly Factor this past Monday were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR," the statement read.

You know, NPR -- where there are "All Things Considered." Apparently you can consider all things, you simply can't verbally express them in terms of your opinion.

And isn't it odd, I might posit (during my college days this might be the time where a professor would ask me to "contrast and compare" in my blue book), that Mr Williams is fired for expressing an opinion whereas other NPR associates have not; for example:

- Andrei Codrescu, who was on contract with NPR at the time, said in 1995 that "The evaporation of four million people who believe this crap [the Rapture] would leave the world an instantly better place." He later apologized, and NPR left it at that.

- In 1995, Nina Totenberg said "I think [Sen. Jesse Helms] ought to be worried about what's going on in the Good Lord's mind, because if there is retributive justice, he'll get AIDS from a transfusion, or one of his grandchildren will get it."

- In 1994 Sunni Khalid, an NPR reporter, said "I think there's a big difference when people told Father Aristide to sort of moderate his views, they were concerned about people being dragged through the streets, killed and necklaced. I don't think that is what Newt Gingrich has in mind. I think he's looking at a more scientific, a more civil way of lynching people."

- This year Sarah Spitz, who has contributed a number of pieces to NPR's biggest magazine programs "Morning Edition" and -- get this -- "All Things Considered," claimed to her fellow liberals on JournoList she would "Laugh loudly like a maniac and watch his eyes bug out" if Rush Limbaugh were dying in front of her.

Hey, good times eh?

But perhaps the largest shard of irony, in new and improved Chunky Size:

Fired from NPR, Fox just awarded Juan Williams a new contract because of this incident -- for $2 million dollars.

Mr Williams, in his Thursday opinion piece for Fox News wrote that he was "fired for telling the truth."

I'd say: why yes, he was. And he said it in a much kinder way than I.

US Banks: At The Tipping Point?

The stock market lost 200 points on Tuesday the 19th.

And it has to do with American banking.

Myself and other Conservative bloggers made our voices heard last year, this year and continuously. We collectively said: there isn't anything quite too large to fail. GM should not have been saved. The banks and other monetary institutions should not have been saved. There would have been a fiscal hit; given. But by now we likely would have impacted actual bottom and then begun a real recovery.

Now, because of demands made by Pimco, Black Rock and the New York Federal Reserve Bank -- up to and including suit -- I fear the entire US banking scheme is truly on the precipice of a potential national systemic failure.

Yet you've likely not heard of this or had it framed quite this way for you.

From CNBC.com:

The New York Federal Reserve Bank is part of a consortium of eight large institutional investment firms that is demanding that Bank of America repurchase loans included in mortgage securities.

Bloomberg reported earlier Tuesday that the New York Fed had joined with the Pacific Investment Management Company, better known as Pimco, and investment management firm BlackRock in an attempt to force BofA to buy back $47 billion in mortgage bonds.

Kathy Patrick, lead attorney for the consortium, confirmed in a statement Tuesday that the group holds more than 25 percent of the voting rights in more than $47 billion worth of Bank of America securities.

Pimco and BlackRock had no comment when contacted by CNBC.

Shares of Bank of America [BAC 11.80 -0.54 (-4.38%) ], a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average [.DJIA 10978.62 -165.07 (-1.48%) ], were more than 4 percent lower Tuesday.

A law firm on Tuesday sent a notice alleging failures by Countrywide Financial to properly service loans that were part of certain mortgage-backed securities. Countrywide was acquired by Bank of America in 2008.

"We want to enforce the holders' contract rights," Kathy Patrick, the lead attorney representing the bond holders, told CNBC. "Today's action begins the clock ticking ... If these issues of non-performance are not addressed and cured, then our clients will be able to enforce their rights in court."

The demand revolves around what is called "put-backs." And the demand is for a full 100-cents on the dollar. No discount.

The immediate exposure, as you read, is $47 billion dollars on the part of B of A.

More useless detail? you ask. More "inside baseball" that doesn't apply to me? you ask.

No, ladies and gentlemen; I submit this is The Real Earth Shaker making an appearance before both you and me, front and center.

The NY Fed is jumping in (the bank regulator in the northeast) with these other major investment firms wanting to sue Bank of America regarding mortgage securities and the investments made in these mortgages, essentially saying that B of A sold them a "bill of goods" -- in which B of A doesn't even possess the requisite records or notes.

The firms are saying to B of A: you don't even have the note; you sold us something you don't even own. How do you sell a security if you don't have a secured interest in the investment in the mortgage, if you don't have the note?

A "put-back," by the way, is the process of a bank admitting a selling error, saying "so we'll buy it back from you."

The potential size of the problem is the key issue; an issue I have yet to see addressed sufficiently by any media outlet -- and a situation of which you need to be made aware. A situation I am addressing here and now on BZ:

JP Morgan Chase has now indicated that, in a proverbial "worst-case scenario" estimate, the banking industry could be forced to buy back $120 billion dollars worth of mortgages.

But in truth, this is simply way too low. That estimate falls much short.

Some Fox business analysts estimate that, if Countrywide alone (B of A agreed to purchase Countrywide, if you recall, in January of 2008) is on the hook for $47 billion dollars, then it appears the $120 billion initial estimate appears to be remarkably minuscule.

The bottom line, at least at this point, is: no one knows the true exposure/liability for American banks in this mess. Not yet.

And this certainly does nothing for the credibility of American banks, and the confidence that people can have in said banks.

The US government already owns Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac; and they in turn own 95% of American mortgages -- so what is their exposure/liability?

Will the US government -- meaning the US Taxpayer -- have to shell out more billions upon billions in order to "save" these financial entities again, at the order-by-fiat of Mr Obama?

If the suit goes through, banks will absolutely be crippled. This is about banks failing to service their mortgages and taking them cavalierly.

The potentially-suing investors carry $16.5 billion dollars worth of mortgages.

And, further, do you have mutual funds that invest in mortgages? If so, what shall be your personal exposure?

Questions posed; answers pending.

Be aware, ladies and gentlemen.

Be aware.

You read it here first on:

Obama & Demorats: The Truth MUST Be Told, And They MUST Be Opposed!

Mr Obama and his shallow "ideas" are crashing in record time.

Compared to GW Bush, whose popularity tanked late in his second term, Mr Obama's wings are on fire and he's about to bank right into the ground. Taking this country with him.

I submit that the gap between what Mr Obama says and reality widens almost daily.

This reality is beginning to catch up to him:

- The Rasmussen poll predicts a gain of 55 seats in the House;

- ABC News says that, actually, 63 Demorat House seats are in danger;

- Mr Obama says that nasty "empire is striking back" -- meaning you;

- Senator Lindsay Graham says Obama is taking over "most of society." Correct;

- Harry Reid is trailing Sharron Angle by 3 points in the polls; I wrote a check to her for $500;

- Nancy Pelosi says: George Bush is still responsible for all ills;

- A Demorat 18-term incumbent finds himself with just ONE donor from his district;

- Demorats are, in fact, finding that Mr Obama is hurting their chances for re-election;

Ladies and gentlemen: BE AWARE -- and VOTE on November 2nd!

Unopposed, this administration will herald the true death of our great nation. As goes America, so goes the rest of the world as well.

Most everyone has said this in the past, but I posit now:

This truly is the most important election in America's past two hundred years.

$823 Million of YOUR American Taxpayer Dollars To African Males: Wash Your Genitals After Sex

I'm not making this up. I wish I were. And up to now I haven't heard or seen much of this on the internet because, after all, wouldn't you -- at first blush -- think this was crazy?

But oh no; it is not. This is precisely where your hard-earned American taxpayer dollars went:

(CNSNews.com) – The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), a division of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), spent $823,200 of economic stimulus funds in 2009 on a study by a UCLA research team to teach uncircumcised African men how to wash their genitals after having sex.

This was part of your Economic Stimulus package.

Get it? "Stimulus"?

The M-1 Garand: A Horribly Dangerous American Weapon That Cannot Fall Into The Hands Of Americans

Except that it did, with style, panache, efficacy and honor during World War II, Korea, and some early limited usage in Vietnam.

Invented by John Garand of the United States Armory in Springfield, Massachusetts, his rifle allowed the US to enter WWII as the only country possessing a semi-automatic rifle for its soldiers.

Chambered for the rather effective .30-06 Springfield (7.62 X 63 mm NATO) -- or 7.62 X 51 mm (.308 Winchester) round, roughly six million of these rifles were produced.

Apparently now, however, your federal BATF considers this weapon a threat to the United States, as it just might get into your fetid and shaking fingers at a reasonable price.

Here is what has happened as per WND.com:

The State Department in May 2009 approved a "request by the Government of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to transfer 87,310 M1 Garand rifles and 770,160 M1 carbine rifles to U.S. private entities for subsequent commercial re-sale in the United States."

But the ATF contacted the State Department and argued the stock of rifles "poses a threat to public safety in the U.S." As a result, the State Department reversed its decision.

The transfer of such weapons would raise the number of guns available and, therefore, lower the price, making them more generally available, the agency found.

And Lord, how we absolutely cannot have efficient, reasonably priced rifles more generally available to the American public.

Certainly not at a time when the American public finds itself just a tad distressed with the performance -- or lack thereof -- of its American politicians.

The Second Amendment ought to be the last policy held in high regard by DC during these challenged times, might you not argue?

After all, an approval such as this could prove quite the frightening event for this current administration. Lord Love A Duck, let us keep the American Public ignorant, mute, sheltered, ill educated, anesthetized, placated, soothed and distanced from current reality.

Else they begin to make some soul-shattering -- and regime-shattering -- conclusions.

Of further import from WND.com:

The gun expert who acted as a source for WND said the implications of the case are significant for several reasons. One is that a "5-year-old" could figure out that if the government classifies one type of rifle as a "threat," there could be similar designations for other kinds of firearms.

Further, he said a team of ATF managers actually took the initiative in writing the agency's condemnation of the Garand. He noted the agency from 2003-2009 traced an estimated 1.8 million guns for various reasons.

But of those, only some 1,900 were Garands.

"It's a very select core of old-school ATF narcissists who have just become too powerful and too arrogant," the source reported.

But perish the thought! Any portion of our federal government "arrogant"? That is so beyond human ken.

Further:

Officials with the ATF declined to comment to WND, but a spokesman for the U.S. Department of State explained that the permission had been granted for the rifles to be shipped to the U.S., then it was rescinded.

The decision, explained Karl Duckworth, was prompted because of "concerns that such large numbers" of weapons would be brought into the U.S. and they could be "exploited for illicit purposes."

However, he said he could not elaborate on just exactly who expressed the concerns.

Whom might you think? Mr Obama? Eric Holder? Those attempting to keep themselves in what little good graces exist in the current administration?

Allow me, if I might -- in my moment of tinfoil-hatted alarmism -- to extract the core thoughts of these moves:

Look at our history in this nation. Look at the history of other nations. Who was a "serf"? Was it not someone who was purposely kept in a position of being completely unable to defend himself and his family by efficient means and a level playing field?

I'm quite sure that, about this point, you can draw your own "logical extensions" as I am wont to say.

And if you still don't see it, allow me to conclude from the WND.com article:

The report from DHS' Office of Intelligence and Analysis defined right-wing extremism in the U.S. as "divided into those groups, movements and adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups) and those that are mainly anti-government, rejecting federal authority in favor of state or local authority, or rejecting government authority entirely. It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration."

Most notable was the report's focus on the impact of returning war veterans.

"Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to right-wing extremists," it said. "DHS/I&A is concerned that right-wing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities."

And who are "extremists"?

Oh yes, that's right: those who believe in limited government, who believe in a Strict Constructionist method of the US Constitution, who believe in the Founding Fathers, who believe in Borders, Language, Culture, who may possibly be members of various TEA Parties.

You know: actual Americans.

"No Campaigning"? Not Applicable To Obamas

Ever hear or read the sign nearing your local voting booth which reads something similar to: "No campaigning within ____ feet of the polls"?

Most states have crafted language prohibiting voters and poll workers from campaigning, or "distributing," "circulating," "posting," or "exhibiting" campaign materials within 10 to 200 feet of polling places. This is sometimes interpreted as including buttons, t-shirts, hats, and other political garb (often called "passive electioneering"), but is more often restricted to signs, posters, fliers, pamphlets, and the like.

At least 10 states -- Delaware, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, and Vermont -- explicitly prohibit the wearing of pins, buttons, stickers, labels, or other "political insignia." And they certainly prohibit active campaigning as well.

Apparently the current First Lady is ignorant of these various laws or she is simply expressing herself via The Chicago Way. From Drudge:

FIRST LADY CAMPAIGNS INSIDE POLLING PLACE
Thu Oct 14 2010 16:19:25 ET

First lady Michelle Obama appears to have violated Illinois law -- when she engaged in political discussion at a polling place!

The drama began after Mrs. Obama stopped off at the Martin Luther King Center on the south side of Chicago to cast an early vote.

After finishing at the machine, Obama went back to the desk and handed in her voting key.

She let voters including electrician Dennis Campbell, 56, take some photos.

"She was telling me how important it was to vote to keep her husband's agenda going," Campbell said.

According to a pool reporter from the CHICAGO SUN-TIMES at the scene, the conversation took place INSIDE the voting center, not far from the booths.

Illinois state law -- Sec. 17-29 (a) -- states: "No judge of election, pollwatcher, or other person shall, at any primary or election, do any electioneering or soliciting of votes or engage in any political discussion within any polling place [or] within 100 feet of any polling place."

A top Ilinois State Board of Elections official tells the DRUDGE REPORT that Mrs. Obama -- a Harvard-educated lawyer -- may have simply been ignorant of the law and thus violated it unintentionally.

"You kind of have to drop the standard for the first lady, right?" the official explained late Thursday. "I mean, she's pretty well liked and probably doesn't know what she's doing."

WHITE HOUSE DEFENDS ELECTIONEERING

When questioned about the brazen nature of Mrs. Obama's campaigning, press secretary Robert Gibbs defended the action.

"I don't think it would be much to imagine, the First Lady might support her husband's agenda," Gibbs smiled.

When the Obamas and Demorats conduct themselves in this fashion I can be of two minds as to the reasons for their actions. First, I submit: they don't much care what the laws may be. And second: I suspect that, in many cases, they just don't know.

Yes, primarily they are both that ignorant and that arrogant.

Another clue to Leftists and Demorats and those media sycophants In The Tank for Leftists and Demorats:

CNN, on Monday, 10-11-10, registered the lowest ratings in ten years.

Talk about "crumbling infrastructure."

Your Taxes Come 2011

This post will be short and not-so-sweet:

The Demorat-controlled House and Senate have adjourned in order to "take a break." In the midst of an economic and political crisis.

They have deferred making any kind of decision regarding the extension or cancellation of the Bush tax cuts.

The Demorats somehow think that doing nothing is better than doing something.

With this marked exception:

The IRS has said that, with no direction, it is essentially too late to change, on the required national scale, the tax tables with which Americans will be held.

You know what that means?

Your taxes will skyrocket come January 1st of 2011.

Remember who did this:

Your local Demorats.

BOHICA, America.

With this caveat:

When you screw "middle-class white America," you also screw middle class American blacks, Mexicans, Asians, et al.

Because taxes are, after all, color-blind.

NJ Gov Chris Christie: A Man With The Balls To Say NO And MEAN It

I hate New Jersey. I've been there once, when I went to the bathroom at a Chevron station. It was disgustingly filthy like the rest of the state at the time.

It was like driving through Bakersfield only, in truth, slightly worse.

I almost wish I lived in New Jersey instead of Fornicalia these days, because their governor is remarkably candid, truthful, efficacious. He is almost (dare I say) the Anti-Politician.

He has essentially, with his newest public disclosure, slammed the state door in the face of Mr Obama and his ridiculous nation-destroying minions. He has embarrassed them in public and at a press conference. And I think that's wonderful.

Mr Obama is pushing an infrastructure pogrom nationally (see the White House blog here). All of the Standard Sycophants stood by Mr Obama as he made his announcement, including a few Republicans. Except that the Devil Is In The Details. And Mr Christie dared to point out -- to the major dismay of DC -- some of those nasty little niggling details.

From Politico.com:

He isn’t on the guest list, but New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will be on everyone’s mind Monday when President Barack Obama calls for a bipartisan commitment to quickly approve $50 billion in federal spending on roads, rails and airports.

A group of mayors, governors and former transportation officials, including a few Republicans, will join the president at the White House to endorse his push to spend the money as soon as possible to help boost the sagging economy.

But Christie showed just how tenuous that bipartisan commitment is in the current economic and political climate when he announced last week that New Jersey would no longer pay its share of the largest public works project in the country – a proposed rail tunnel between New York and New Jersey. Christie says that the tunnel’s cost – $8.7 billion a few months ago, but now $11 to $14 billion – are spinning out of control.

Christie charged that the escalating price tag for the tunnel would cost the state $2.5 billion more than expected, and he attacked the twenty-year old project as a waste of the taxpayer’s money. But he said Friday he would wait two weeks to make a final decision, after Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and a plane load of federal officials flew to Trenton and told the governor that New Jersey would lose $3 billion in federal funding if the tunnel project is shelved.

Imagine that.

A man who knows how to say NO to tainted and illegal funds requiring obeisance to DC.

And apparently a man who doesn't want his state to be subsumed into DC's Borg Assimilation Project.

BZ

P.S.
And a federal government trying to hold him hostage via withholding of further federal funds.

Pay to play, baby. You go along to get along with Obaka. Or you're cast aside.

I ask: who is Stronger? Obaka or Christie?

Reflections On A Monday

I'm down in the Sacramento Valley as I write this post, at my wife's house in Ghetto Centrale. Today is to be the warmest day of the week, perhaps into the 80s. It's certainly filled with blue skies outside as contrasted to the miraculous and wondrous thunderstorm I encountered up at my cabin Tuesday night of last week.

The night skies were, then, split with the millisecond forks of white-hot lightning, illuminating the living room entirely. The thunder would gap for seconds then, minutes later, the bed-rattling booms seemed as directly over my cabin. As opposed to some thunderstorms this one lasted for a good hour or more. I love thunderstorms; the rain cascaded off my roof in sheets onto the deck.

There's another thunderstorm coming just 22 days from now.

One that will affect the entire nation and not just my, literally, little neck of the woods.

There are rumors, terrible rumors floating about in DC that the national media, "in the tank" for Leftists and Demorats -- their own kind, you see -- refuse to cover, editorialize upon or even speak about covertly outside of their own newsrooms. And that is:

A great deal of the Demorats in DC are concerned that Mr Obama simply isn't listening to them. He refuses to see that his philosophy is slaughtering the chances of any hope of a Demorat win in these remaining 22 days. They are concerned that he is incapable of compromise, incapable of learning from history and incapable of true political ingenuity or brilliance.

In essence: himself incapable of change.

People speak and write of the political brilliance of Obama. Comparatively speaking, Mr Obama is but a mere petulant child in contrast with William Jefferson Clinton, who was wise enough to know when to re-craft himself and his policies in such a way that he is still held as a Demorat ideal.

Mr Obama may be brilliant but he is an arrogant ideologue and a dunce. After all of his higher education, what has he actually learned? I submit: very little. He still does not see, purposely, reality.

Therefore, I conclude, he is quite incapable of changing his own path of political destruction or the path of destruction on which he has placed this nation.

Investors Business Daily says that, at our current rate, the US won't recover its lost jobs until the year 2020. Another complete decade of misery and stagnation.

The jobless rate has been at or above 9.5 percent for a year and two months, the longest stretch since the Great Depression.

More senior staff including defence secretary Robert Gates, and senior advisor David Axelrod, leave their ObamaJobs at the White House.

An excellent summation of Mr Obama here.

November, here we come.

Obama: Worst On Race Relations

Whenever I make a post about race, I can assume it will be a post that acquires a minimal smattering of comments. A few, perhaps; three or four.

Because I submit that the bulk of Americans are predominantly uncomfortable about race. I further submit: this goes to guilt.

Rasmussen Reports indicate:

Voters Are Much Less Optimistic About Black-White Relations

Perceptions about the state of black-white relations in America have fallen dramatically since the summer of 2009. But voters are still more optimistic about that relationship than they are about relations between whites and Hispanics and between blacks and Hispanics.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 36% of voters now say relations between blacks and whites are getting better. That’s down from 62% in July of last year at the height of the controversy involving a black Harvard professor and a white policeman. That number had fallen only slightly to 55% in April of this year.

Twenty-seven percent (27%) now say black-white relations are getting worse, up 10 points from July 2009, while 33% think they’re staying about the same. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

African-Americans are much more pessimistic than whites. Thirty-nine percent (39%) of whites think black-white race relations are getting better, but just 13% of blacks agree.

Confidence in the nation’s course among African-Americans soared after Barack Obama’s election. But then several prominent Democrats, perhaps most notably former President Jimmy Carter, suggested that opposition to the president’s health care plan was motivated in part by racism. Only 12% of all voters agreed in September of last year, but among blacks, 27% felt that way and 48% were undecided.

Facts are what they are.

Polls are what they are.

Racism? I Submit: Yes

New Gallup poll numbers are out. An inordinate number of blacks love Mr Obama.

And they point to some clear racism in this country.

But not in the way you might expect. And, apparently, myself and Yid With Lid are on the same battle page:

In a recent interview with the German Magazine Der Spiegel Congressman John Lewis suggested that Obama's approval ratings are low because of the color of his skin.
In some quarters, it's true, people cannot get used to the idea that a person of color is president of the United States. People cannot get comfortable with the idea that so many people are coming from different parts of the world to America. In just a short time, America will be a minority majority, and that feeds some of the frustration.

Allow me to suggest that a look of the President's approval numbers may suggest the opposite, African Americans are 65% more likely to approve of President Obama than Hispanic Americans, twice as likely to support Obama than the general population and 2.6 times more likely to approve of the POTUS than Non-Hispanic Whites. That suggests that if there is Racism in Obama's approval numbers, it is coming from the African-Americans who support him, rather than the Caucasians who do not.

Boom. And there you have it.

91% of blacks approve Mr Obama. 36% of whites approve. This is clearly a racist determination.

Yet, nearly 50% of whites voted for Obama in the election. Have the remainder become immediate racists since their vote?

Or have blacks decided they'll play the Melanin Card insofar as they did in the O.J. Simpson decision? Jury nullification? Voter nullification?

Who are the racists here? Who apparently sides and votes predominantly via melanin?

ObamaKare Court Case To Return This Week:

A state of Florida court case is expected to return this week, with massive implications for the federal government and ObamaKare.

From AOLNews:

(Sept. 14) -- As arguments begin Tuesday in a Florida District Court where 20 state attorneys general and the National Federation of Independent Business are challenging the constitutionality of the health care law, the American people can be forgiven for feeling a bit ill at ease about the direction their country is going. James Madison would feel the same way.

So imagine his response if the Congress of 1789 had proposed a law like the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act -- i.e., Obamacare. Nowhere does the Constitution grant the power to force individuals to buy a product.

Congress has chosen to regulate not only actions, but inaction -- the failure to buy or provide qualifying health insurance.

And, oddly enough, more states will vote on opting out of ObamaKare. From the Washington Times:

DENVER | After taking a beating at the hands of Missouri voters in August, "Obamacare" could be roughed up once again at the ballot box in November.

Following the lead of the successful Missouri initiative, which passed with 71 percent of the vote, Arizonans, Coloradans and Oklahomans will decide this fall whether to approve proposed constitutional amendments that would allow them to opt out of key provisions of President Obama's signature national health care law.

The three initiatives prohibit the government from forcing individuals to buy health care insurance - a "mandate" that critics say violates the U.S. Constitution - and would allow patients and employers to pay providers directly without penalty. The idea is to protect state residents from "the ongoing takeover of health care by government," backers of the Colorado campaign say.

Politicians and their massive spending campaigns -- and yes, of course, that includes Mr Bush -- have placed this country's credence, fiscal strength, defense and even its existence in jeopardy. Mr Obama has purposely and geometrically spent (and plans to spend more) the nation into its highest-ever deficit. He has spent more than anyone. As I documented here, Mr Obama has created the greatest American debt in its history.

BloombergNews reports that the world economy is "decoupling" from the US because of its profligate spending:

Just three years since America began dragging the world into its deepest recession in seven decades, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Credit Suisse Holdings USA Inc. and BofA Merrill Lynch Global Research are forecasting that this time will be different. Goldman Sachs predicts worldwide growth will slow 0.2 percentage point to 4.6 percent in 2011, even as expansion in the U.S. falls to 1.8 percent from 2.6 percent.

Underpinning their analysis is the view that international reliance on U.S. trade has diminished and is too small to spread the lingering effects of America’s housing bust. Providing the U.S. pain doesn’t roil financial markets as it did in the credit crisis, Goldman Sachs expects a weakening dollar, higher bond yields outside the U.S. and stronger emerging-market equities.

"Goldman Sachs expects a weaker dollar. . ."

This coming ObamaKare case will, therefore, provide an indicator for our future. Will we survive, or will we not? ObamaKare will spend this nation into oblivion.

It is not much more complicated than that. There is no spending oneself out of debt. That is a stupid and delusionary tactic.

And, oh yes: continued and enforced by a stupid and delusionary administration.

What is that definition of insanity again?
