Bloviating Zeppelin

(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

ClimateGate & Copenhagen

Just as the chrome is coming off the Obama Shiny, so is "Global Warming" being exposed as a manipulated cliche.

Persons believing in "Global Warming" are those I term the Religious Left; that is, people who cling to GW out of a belief system and not any particular set of indicators of true facts.

Far be it for them to be considerate of any article, book, suggestion, sentence or private thought remotely suggesting the GW Sword of Damocles isn't hanging over our heads, to be released in less than a year, less than a month, less than a week oh-migawd-we're-all-gonna die!

Any and all indicators of weather anomalies certainly must be anthropogenic in nature. There can absolutely, positively, unrefutably be no other answer extant!

And what of ClimateGate?

Unfortunately it would appear, as has now been released not just in the UK but globally, that there are 72 documents and 1,079 e-mails indicating that "Global Warming" is a purposely-intentioned hoax perpetuated by agendist "scientists" who are, in truth, naught but adherents to the Religious Left.

The Wall Street Journal writes correctly when it says:

The furor over these documents is not about tone, colloquialisms or whether climatologists are nice people. The real issue is what the messages say about the way the much-ballyhooed scientific consensus on global warming was arrived at, and how a single view of warming and its causes is being enforced. The impression left by the correspondence among Messrs. Mann and Jones and others is that the climate-tracking game has been rigged from the start.

Want to see the documents and e-mails? Go here for the Hadley CRU files (61.93 MB).

SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based.

It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years.

The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation.

I'm not customarily a visitor or believer in Alex Jones, but he got it right in this article:

The globalists, the eugenicists, are in this for the long haul. All of their eggs are in the climate hoax basket. They’re not going to stop now. Why would they? We all know this was never about climate change in the first place. We knew that they knew that it was the sun driving the climate, and that temperatures haven’t risen in at least ten years. If this were about saving the Earth – if they truly were not evil, just wrong, as the newest documentary naively suggests – then the climate scientists would’ve packed it in a long time ago.

No, what this is and always was about is an excuse for global government.

What would be the point of, first, any kind of central control of one nation?  And then, with that nation or a number of nations in tow, the central control of a global government?

Power, of course, ladies and gentlemen.  Power.  Money.  And an Absolutist Dictatorship.  Control.

Reuters, of course, states emphatically that the furor is all a load of crap.  The scientists were nothing but completely misinterpreted because, of course, they logically and customarily speak above the heads of the Groundlings at all times of the day and night.  You couldn't possibly fathom their real meanings and intent; you haven't the brain power or the first clue.  They are the True Informed; you are a member of the Great Unwashed Ignorant.

Further, according to the UK (isn't it odd that most of this unmitigated refuse seems to stem from the prancing minds of UK GOWPs?), "Climate sceptics have lied, obscured and cheated for years. That's why we climate rationalists must uphold the highest standards of science."

Sound strange?  Collusional?  Conspiratorial?  Can't be true?  Tinfoil time?  I'm way out of my element?

Odd, then, isn't it, that he coincidentally seems to have a new book published, entitled "Our Choice: A Plan to Solve the Climate Crisis."  And let's see, might one of his solutions be the geothermal turbine?  Gosh, might that be because the Energy Department recently awarded $560 million in grants to several utilities that are directly linked to one Gore-backed firm -- ?  Since, after all, one of Mr Gore's primary roles now is "venture capitalist."  Coincidence?

Even Australia is coming to terms with so-called AGW, or "Anthropogenic Global Warming":

Australia is leading the revolt against Al Gore’s great big AGW conspiracy – just as the Aussie geologist and AGW sceptic Professor Ian Plimer predicted it would.

ABC news reports that five frontbenchers from Australia’s opposition Liberal party have resigned their portfolios rather than follow their leader Malcolm Turnbull in voting with Kevin Rudd’s Government on a new Emissions Trading Scheme.

"Global Warming"?  You can bet that when anyone speaks of the NEED to immediately cease Global Warming, the literal translation is: "You must be taxed, your pockets turned inside out, capitalism ended, rights curtailed, Socialism instituted."

It's ALL about removing your freedoms, eliminating private property, curtailing your speech, increasing your taxes, enabling the Cloward-Piven Strategy.

Copenhagen?  I doubt there will be much done.  Most all the developing nations (China, India) want developed Western nations, in particular the United States, to take all the hits regarding limitations and cash.  They themselves wish to be completely unfettered so as to dominate their competitor: the US.**  Eliminate us.  Humble us.  China, by the way, is the world's biggest polluter, not the United States.  India has not announced that it is willing to make any cuts in emissions.

Still: Mr Obama and his national set of adsentatores are slowly coming to a realization, and that is this: Life is not quite as easy as once so glibly pronounced by Our Hero Himself.

Citizens beware: Mr Obama and the Globalists and Religious Left are coming for your wallets and oh-so-much more.

One note aside: you may be unaware that EADS, the parent manufacturer of Airbus and the largest competitor to Boeing in terms of commercial air transportation, was recently found to be in marked collusion with several European governments with the sole purpose of toppling, by way of multi-governmental funding streams, Boeing's dominance in aircraft sales.

U.S. To Invade Cuba?

Apparently Raul Castro's regime seems to think so.

So: why does Cuba appear to believe that Our Sanctified Hero would even remotely consider invading another sovereign nation?

What is it that is inherently not trusted about the United States and Mr Obama?

Coming Sooner: Removal of Union Free Choice

Amongst everything else:

With ObamaKare, the greatest deficit in this nation's history, CapNTax, amnesty for Illegal Invaders, further "stimulus" cash thrown away.  .  .

.   .   . what do you do when unions appear to be lapsing in strength, when the once-strong locus of Unionism -- Detroit's UAW -- has collapsed under its own weight? What do you do when corporations are literally moving from strong union areas of the nation to other areas so they won't be crushed by union demands?

Why, you attempt to federally legislate the creation and maintenance of unions, naturally.

This is done by the proposed Employee Free Choice Act (HR 1409 or S 560), a blatant attempt to remove the "secret ballot" -- not in written theory but in actual practice.

When those around you, your peers, get to see whether or not you physically choose, at a work site, to organize and instigate a union, and your vote is registered for all to see, there is a purposeful and clearly massive pressure on you to positively vote for union organization.

And that's the purpose of the EFCA -- which has, as you can see, little if anything to do with actual free choice.

The SEIU is all about taking away your right to free choice in terms of unions:

You may wish to consult with the National Right to Work Committee, here.

Check out SEIU pressure tactics here:

Freedom, you ask? Demorats are all about intimidation and the removal of freedoms from the American People.

Card Check? Forced unions? Coming soon to a community near you if you sit back and do nothing.

Say, Mr Obama?  How's your dose of Reality coming along?  Is Life just a bit sharper, more pungent, difficult, more strident, more confusing, more complicated, more demanding of maturity than you first thought?

Islam: What Mr Obama Truly Faces:

Please watch the entire 10 minutes. This is what our Mr Obama faces, whether he likes it or not. And no amount of capitulation, conciliatory verbiage or acquiescence will deter Islamists from their final goal: Islam dominant and Shariah institutionalized around the globe, with the Western World completely defeated.

Thanksgiving, 2009:

First: Happy Thanksgiving to one and all, to each and every one of my Dedicated Readers and Usual Suspects, and to everyone who may pass by my blog as you ebb and flow into the internet stream.

Thanksgiving, 2009, really doesn't mean much to me -- and Christmas won't mean much either. In the photo above is Dad's last Thanksgiving, 2008. He was in a wheelchair. But the whole family rallied 'round and he actually had an appetite. It was a great night. Except for the part where we had to take him back to the nursing facility.

My father passed away February 11th of this year. The best Christmas recently? 2007. My Dad, brother and wife came up to the cabin and I had tons of presents for all. Dad was walking, happy, mobile, and living in his house, driving his car. There were more presents under my tree than before or since. Ah, memories.

This really is a day of thanks. I'm thankful for my family, that I'm walking erect and that I still have a job. I'm working Thanksgiving and Christmas day and New Years Day. I have no kids. My fellow Supervisors have kids and actual families. I'm working today so they can enjoy.

My cats want me to just open up the can and be quiet.

Tomorrow is another day.

P.S.

Z, I don't know how you do it. God bless you.

Prophecy: The Purposeful Downfall of America?

A Russian professor gives the United States of America until the end of 2010 before a massive collapse occurs.

And I cannot unequivocally say that he is incorrect.

The proverbial End Times?

You tell me. But first I say, what do you make of this:

- Washington Senators are bribed, in the open ($300 million worth), to vote for bills;

- Forthcoming phones (Nokia already, Qualcomm soon) will provide
face recognition technology tied to social network search technology, so you can find out what a stranger just tweeted simply by pointing your handset at them. You could theoretically pull up a person’s home address through automatic whois requests.

- A French bank says: "As yet, nobody can say with any certainty whether we have in fact escaped the prospect of a global economic collapse," said the 68-page report, headed by asset chief Daniel Fermon. Societe Generale indicates the dollar may slide further and global equities may retest the March lows. Property prices could tumble again. Oil could fall back to $50 in 2010.

- Syria may be
going nuclear.

- America's mayors: the Porkulus isn't working for them; revenues are drying up.

- Fornicalia college students are protesting over a 32% tuition increase proposal. Note to kids: if you STOPPED taking federal and state loans, the colleges and universities would be hurt by the lack of students and they'd be FORCED to become competitive in terms of tuitions. You morons.

- Saturday Night Live is actually making continued fun at our Sacred Mr Obama. Sacre bleu! The world is ending! Merde! Que coupe la frommage?

- Coca-Cola is spearheading a coalition of more than 100 companies pushing a United Nations climate treaty to bind the U.S. to cap-and-trade emissions regulation, commit the world's wealthiest nations to a potential $10 trillion in foreign aid and, possibly, form a proposed international "super-grid" for regulating and distributing electric power worldwide. Anyone else think Pepsi's looking pretty good right now?

- "Global Warming" fraud: top world scientists are disavowing science and have "manipulated or suppressed evidence in order to support their cause." This, of course, is not news to actual Conservatives. Looks like a ClimateGate to me. Mr Obama and the rest of the world is purposely planning to empty your wallets, remove your freedoms, take your property in the name of Junk Science -- based but upon emotions and faith, NOT facts.

- A Congressman wants to bail out the US Postal Service. Uh, not.

- Germany, like China already, is warning America about the weak US dollar.

- National unemployment continues to rise. The state of Michigan is at 15.1%. In Fornicalia, unemployment in one county is at 15.8%.

- The massive Gallup poll, customarily in the tank for Our Sacred Hero, now lists Mr Obama at a 48% approval rating; now less than half of the country and a bulk of the lemmings who voted for das HopenChange.

- H1N1 may be mutating. Ask Texas Fred if he thinks H1N1 is dangerous.

- The "rich" need to pay more taxes for the Afghan war.

That Russian professor I mentioned above, Igor Panarin, says that events are continuing to confirm his prediction that the US will completely collapse like the Soviet Union before the end of 2010. He is quoted as saying that Mr Obama has done nothing to forestall the fast approaching crisis and that, like Gorbachev, enjoys speech but does nothing.

- One small positive note: Republican Representative Joe Wilson of South Carolina -- the one who shouted "You lie!" at Our Hero, is now assembling a petition demanding the truth about the billions of dollars of federal stimulus money being spent, and demanding an accounting.
Mr Obama can stop this, if he wants. But does he want?

Where in the world are we really going?

Trust me on this: all will be revealed in 2010.

(Hat-tip to Maggie's Notebook.)

Senator Lindsey Graham completely skewers Attorney General Eric Holder in this open session -- with regard to trying 9/11 terrorists in a civilian New York court -- and lances him with Logic. Leftists hate facts and history, and Graham takes the fact knife and deploys it sharply. To wit:

The Last Hours of Sanity (UPDATE: BILL PASSES SENATE, 60 to 39)

The United States Senate will be voting, tonight (roughly 8 pm, Eastern time) on its 2,074-page version of ObamaKare, submitted as HR 3590. The House already passed its version on November 7th by a rather narrow 220 to 215 vote. According to the Congressional Budget Office the lowest cost family non-group plan under the bill would cost $15,000 in 2016. The bill also comes with some nasty teeth, as well -- which you need to see and read.

But, as Texas Fred points out -- and I agree -- the Fix is Already "In" and these are, frankly, the Last Hours of Sanity in the United States.

How is the Fix "In," you might ask? In broad daylight, as ABC News Jonathan Karl writes:

On page 432 of the Reid bill, there is a section increasing federal Medicaid subsidies for “certain states recovering from a major disaster.”

The section spends two pages defining which “states” would qualify, saying, among other things, that it would be states that “during the preceding 7 fiscal years” have been declared a “major disaster area.”

I am told the section applies to exactly one state: Louisiana, the home of moderate Democrat Mary Landrieu, who has been playing hard to get on the health care bill.

In other words, the bill spends two pages describing would could be written with a single world: Louisiana. (This may also help explain why the bill is long.)

Senator Harry Reid, who drafted the bill, cannot pass it without the support of Louisiana’s Mary Landrieu.

How much does it cost? According to the Congressional Budget Office: $100 million.

The payoffs, the BRIBES, are written into the bill itself. It's that easy.

Many people mistakenly believe the vote tonight will simply be about "passage" of HR 3590. It's more complicated and insidious than that. The vote tonight will likely be about a "motion to invoke cloture."

What is cloture? I wrote about this tactic here, on the 15th. Literally, it is "A parliamentary procedure by which debate is ended and an immediate vote is taken on the matter under discussion. Also called closure."

Cloture is a way to end debate or filibuster, essentially having the ability to ramroad ObamaKare through the Senate. This could potentially do away with conferences, etc. It is very much a "nuclear option" and could have serious ramifications for those voting so. Cloture -- "Rule 22" in the Senate -- is quite the high risk/high gain move.

Instead of an original 2/3rds vote, in 1975 the US Senate reduced the number of votes needed to invoke cloture to three-fifths (60) of Senate membership.

That is another reason why the number "60" is so important in terms of Senatorial power. Wield a constant 60+ votes and you can pretty much have your way in the US Senate.

How do you get your 60+ votes? The Demorats just write their bribes into the bill itself.

Even prior to the vote, the "gag orders" were in effect. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell spoke, above, on the Senate floor decrying reports that a senator asked the Dept. of Health and Human Services to investigate a health insurance company that dared to warn its customers about potential Medicare cuts under Democrat health care legislation.

This is just the First Strike, ladies and gentlemen. But it's a huge strike and it's Going Nuclear right off the bat. This is, I believe, one of the most important posts I've ever written.

Enact cloture. End debate. Silence opposition. Do it NOW.

All in order, I fervently believe, to enable the Cloward-Piven Strategy. You want to know Mr Obama's ultimate goal and agenda? Read about it here.

BZ

UPDATE:
The Senate bill passed on a 60 to 39 vote. There will be debate on the bill come November 30th. Two final Demorat holdouts, Sens. Mary Landrieu of Louisiana and Blanche Lincoln of Arkansas, voted yea. This is no shock. Demorats have united to hold off the GOP filibuster.

FURTHER:

The Washington Post writes that Capitol Hill staffers are calling it "The Louisiana Purchase."

That is to say:
And so it came to pass that Landrieu walked onto the Senate floor midafternoon Saturday to announce her aye vote -- and to trumpet the financial "fix" she had arranged for Louisiana. "I am not going to be defensive," she declared. "And it's not a $100 million fix. It's a $300 million fix."

Sorry folks. I was off on my bribe mark by $200 million dollars.

I guess politicians in Louisiana are a tad bit more expensive than I originally calculated.

Toxic Cleanup Insanity

This is what $50,000 looks like.

I said it before and I'll say it again: "environmentalism" and so-called "Global Warming" is a religion unto itself; hence, my typifying the Religious Left. It deals not so much in facts, unless they are -- ahem -- "inconVEnient" facts (sorry, Church Lady). It instead deals in faith.

I wrote about CFLs here and here. And here. I wrote about the first CFL mercury bulb break here -- which resulted in a $2,000 bill -- a pittance now, apparently.

All that I surmised about the insane Religious Left has surfaced once again:

A two-ounce (yes, you read that correctly; two ounces) mercury spill on a surface street has resulted in a $50,000 cleanup bill in Twin Falls, Idaho:

Local, state and federal agencies likely spent more than $50,000 to respond to and clean up a small mercury spill two months ago in Twin Falls, officials said this week.

The mercury, just about two teaspoons’ worth, was found the week of Sept. 15 in a parking lot outside an apartment complex at 359 and 341 Pheasant Road W. Investigators later determined it came from several thermometers intentionally broken by kids, and one family had to be temporarily evacuated from a contaminated apartment.

A number of public entities responded to the incident, including the Twin Falls Fire Department, Idaho Department of Environ-mental Quality and South CentralPublic Health District, and submitted reimbursement requests to the Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security.

On Wednesday, response costs for state and local agencies were still being tallied. But they’re expected to come in between $25,000 and $30,000, said BHS spokesman Lt. Col. Tim Marsano.

In addition, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency spent about $26,000 to bring in contractors for assessments of the parking lot, eight apartment units and other nearby areas, including other homes. Only one homeowner denied the agency access, according to an EPA report. The money came out of an emergency-response budget authorized through the Superfund program.

This nation has, clearly, gone off the Deep End. The fear of appearances and suits are the driving concerns. Requiring, naturally, more and greater stacks of governmental bureaucracy at every level. The "official" EPA report of the incident is here. Wow. What sacrifice.

Give me some napkins. I'll soak it up, dig a hole, and drop in the napkins. Problem solved. And I will have gotten the napkins for free at Taco Bell. After having used their restroom for free as well.

We are a nation of blithering, indecisive, fearful, quivering Sheeple.

Demorats: Ideology Trumps Race

Demorats have proven, time and time again, that ideology clearly trumps race, though they frequently play the "race card" when it promotes their ideology.

Past examples would include just about any "minority" appointment or cabinet member employed by the former Bush Administration -- which, by the way, selected a greater number of so-called "minorities" than had the Clinton Administration.

Proving that, on many occasions, you simply can't be "black enough" for a Liberal Racist, or sufficiently left for the Left.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson on Wednesday night criticized Rep. Artur Davis (D-Ala.) for voting against the Democrats’ signature healthcare bill.

“We even have blacks voting against the healthcare bill,” Jackson said at a reception Wednesday night. “You can’t vote against healthcare and call yourself a black man.”

You might want to refamiliarize yourself with the photograph capping this blogpost. I could be wrong, but Representative Artur Davis appears, to me, to be a black man.

With that in mind, in consideration of Mr Jackson's comment, isn't this a tad bit like the pot calling the kettle black?

Again, in keeping with this current administration's tactics, any disagreement with policy or planning absolutely requires degrading personal attacks on those individuals or groups holding to said disagreement. Rep. Davis merely disagrees with Mr Obama's healthcare bill.

Now, given that Mr Jackson is a black man, and that Mr Jackson is a racist and bigot, are you then surprised that he is excoriating a melanin-matching individual incongruent with his Leftist leanings?

I, myself, am not.

Racists, hypocrites all.

BZ

P.S.
On the other hand, Representative Jon Conyers (D, Michigan) is recently quoted as saying that our Mr Obama is being quite too amenable and "bowing down" to the GOP, and that Conyers is "getting tired of saving Obama's can in the White House."

Al Qaeda War Criminals In Civilian Courts

On every level imagineable, you know this is wrong.

That is, if you have any sense about you.

From the LA Times this past Friday the 13th:

Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the 9/11 attacks, and four other top alleged conspirators have been held for years in secret detention camps overseas, and, most recently, at the Guantanamo Bay prison in Cuba -- will be tried as terrorists and criminals in a federal court in Manhattan, just blocks from the site of one of the terrorists' targets, the World Trade Center, U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric Holder announced today.

This will be a civilian court, as opposed to a military court or tribunal.

Which means that, of course, civilian rules of jurisprudence and law will hold -- not that of the UCMJ.

I apologize for not addressing the topic earlier but I've been otherwise distracted by personal issues.

This is a mistake. And not just a "mistake" but an error of geometric and massive proportions, setting an unwanted, corrupting, denigrating, deleterious precedent.

AG Eric Holder has already announced his confidence that there will be clear and easy convictions in each and every case. Not to worry. Eric and Barry are Large and In Charge.

The American Civil Liberties Union -- of course -- called the move a "major victory for due process and the rule of law."

Other clear-thinking individuals such as Charles Krauthammer said:

Affording terrorists access to American civilian courts is the sheerest of insanity. It makes no sense whatsoever. On almost every level imagineable.

First, these trials will occur in a federal court in New York City, mere blocks from the site where almost 3,000 unsuspecting and completely innocent Americans were literally liquified and their tissues absorbed into the hundreds of thousands of tons crushing down upon them -- that is, if they didn't jump, burned, flaming, shirtless, shoeless, from hundreds of feet in the New York air, only to impact the hard concrete below -- and then have hundreds of thousands of tons crush them into human juice.

That is an abomination itself.

New York, already Target One in the eyes of Jihadists, will only serve to make itself a more tasty morsel as various factions vie to either rescue their brethren or bring their brand of Islamic Hell to the court's doorsteps.

Second, there is a massive world of difference between the two court venues, civilian and military. Different rules of evidence, exclusionary rules, rules of time and custody.

For example, if I were a defense attorney, I'd attempt to free my clients without stepping a foot into open court. I'd first cite evidence indicating that they were held, incommunicado, for a ridiculously extended period of time, completely unrepresented -- a clear civil violation. If that petition failed, I'd cite the questioning tactics up to and including the waterboarding of my clients, attacking that point from the angle of torture -- still not firmly addressed or answered in civil court decisions. AG Holder himself has called waterboarding "illegal torture" -- yet he believes a conviction is certain?

In a civilian court venue, defense attorneys would and should make a mockery of the system. They will make the issues those of philosophy, a venue for the oppression of Islam, the ghastly treatment of the world at the hand of the evil United States, a matter of religion, a matter of fighters for freedom, paupers, standing up to the Great Satan. It will be the quintessential Show Trial, trotted out before Live Television (clearly, too juicy and salacious to remain uncovered by the Defeatist, Elitist Media, yes?).

And, moreover, civil defense attorneys will demand access to all of the evidence which may even faintly denigrate their clients to include any and all intelligence, methods, sources, all trotted out in open court for the world to see, hear, know.

That in mind, a new CNN poll showed that fully two-thirds of respondents believe Khalid Sheikh Mohammed should be tried in military court while 34 per cent agreed with the decision to try him in civilian court.

I'd also cite the inconsistency of the Government in its trial venues. The USS Cole bomber Nashiri will face a military trial. I should also like to point out that so-called "American Taliban" John Walker Lindh, faced a civilian DOJ trial only because the mechanism to support Gitmo, early in the fight, was not yet in place. He acquired a 20-year sentence. Some say he was railroaded. I say he should shut the hell up and be grateful his stupidity and naivete didn't acquire a life sentence.

9/11 was an act of war, clearly and simply. Trying its enfolders and designers is not a mission of civilian law enforcement. And, we seem to have no qualms about holding American born persons accountable under military justice. Second Lt William Calley and numerous, numerous other soldiers over the years. The UCMJ was deemed perfectly fine for those applications.

When those who fight against us violate the Geneva Convention, we should set aside any and all civilian rules. The Conventions apply to all cases of armed conflict between two or more signatory nations, even in the absence of a declaration of war. This language was added in 1949 to accommodate situations that have all the characteristics of war without the existence of a formal declaration of war, such as a police action.[7] Soldiers who fight out of uniform or commit atrocities such as the murder of prisoners or the targeting or killing of non-combatants may be executed by firing squads.

All acts committed by Jihadists under the banner of Islam.

Why do those who wish only harm to this country warrant extraordinary civilian treatment?

The Conservative Question:

Sarah Palin is getting much press recently for her forthcoming book, "Going Rogue." Apparently it is being confused with a cheap Leftist comedy book -- damned near identical -- called "Going Rouge." Get it? Har de har-har. Man, that's clever. A purposeful shot by Leftists at attempting to confuse book buyers and get them to not purchase the Real Deal. It was enough to already confuse Fox News. And that's how much she's hated by the Left.

According to the Huffington Post:
Clocking in at over 400 pages, "Going Rogue" is, at its heart, one giant complaint about the conduct of John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign. At the nexus of Palin's grievances lies (former McCain campaign manager Steve) Schmidt, a character cast as out of touch, overly cautious, and vindictive.

The relationship between vice presidential candidate and the campaign manager doesn't start off on the rocks -- but it ends there. And though she claims they were "very comfortable with each other right off the bat," she also describes Schmidt as "business to the bone." During her vetting Schmidt plays it cool. When Palin admits "the one skeleton [she'd] kept hidden in [her] closet for the past twenty-two years," Schmidt "didn't bat an eye" -- though he does "wince" when she mentions God. That oh-so-dark secret, incidentally, is a D-grade Palin received in a college course.

Palin complains of being "told to sit down and shut up" when she "spoke on the trail about Obama's associations with questionable characters." She bemoans the campaign's unwillingness to tackle "Obama's pastor of twenty years, Jeremiah 'God Damn America' Wright."

"I will forever question the campaign for prohibiting discussion of such association," she writes. "All the more since these telltale signs of Obama's views, carefully concealed with centrist campaign-speak have now been brought into the light by his appointments and actions in office."

Can't say as I, with the above information, much disagree with Palin's assessment of McCain.

Well… I guess Sarah Palin is a Great Pretender. Playing to the masses. Putting on the dog, as they say. And it all came out looking like a seriously bad version of Northwoods Barbie.

Sarah Palin’s life reads a lot like a reality program too, Jon and Kate comes to mind. Dysfunctional, didn’t finish out the contract, accusations of improprieties, lots of similarities. Personally, I want my politics to be a reality program, but I want it to be an accurate representation of LIFE, not some shrill voiced QUITTER that doesn’t represent my family values or work ethic.

I hate a quitter! Sarah Palin will forever be known as a QUITTER. You just don’t walk out on the job of Governor of Alaska because the *pressures* of the job were too much for you to take and because it was playing havoc on your family.

If Palin, or ANY of her supporters think for one minute that the pressures she would face as President or Vice President are less than those she faced as a state Governor, you are sadly mistaken! If she quit over those lesser pressures, what do you think she’ll do if it’s a GLOBAL crisis? What happens when she has to face the life or death decisions that ALL Presidents face?

Wake up folks, Palin is playing a part, that’s it, she is yesterdays news and even then she didn’t carry that much credibility. Then she became a QUITTER. Is thatwhat you want in the White House? Do you want someone that’s better suited to reality TV or someone that can LEAD this nation?

I'd have to say that, now, Texas Fred is correct though -- up to the moment she stepped down as Alaska's Governor -- she once had a chance.

I customarily thought that the vetted and perceived value or threat of a potential candidate could easily be measured by the slanderous and libelous things portrayed about them by their opposition. The more the Left attempted to skewer Sarah Palin, the more I tended to like her. She was a pro-gun hot chick who rankled the Left because she wore short skirts, had a square jaw, an hourglass figure (no cankles, like some people we know), was far more Conservative than her running mate, didn't source from the east coast or from anything having to do with the Ivy League, wasn't an attorney, didn't believe in abortion, had a Downs kid, had an actual intact marriage.

Yes, of course, she wasn't perfect but there is no such thing as a Perfect Candidate.

Conservatives harken back to Ronald Wilson Reagan but in point of fact he predominantly stepped away and avoided any kind of confrontation with Terror in its myriad forms when President. A response to the 1983 Beirut Marine barracks bombing? Mostly terse words. "In fact, there was no serious retaliation for the Beirut bombing from the Americans,[16] besides a few shellings."

And Iran/Contra. The battles between the Secretaries of State and Defense (Reagan chewed through four National Security Advisers in six years ) and their adversarial policies. We forget that Reagan never submitted a balanced budget to Congress despite his commitment to fiscal restraint, and the national debt tripled during his presidency. Reagan was, in the end, a man of contradictions. But, Lord, how I felt so much better about my nation when he was around, how he rallied my country, how he left behind so many better words bigger than himself.

That said, I rallied around Sarah Palin because I believed that, as is being revealed now, McCain trotted her out as a Show Horse but then muzzled her. Go on, yes, we can reference her shrill voice (though I still liken Hillary and Nancy to Rosie Perez and Fran Drescher -- like split nails dragged across the proverbial chalkboard). Her Frances McDormand accent.

But, ultimately, when she canceled her Day Job, she doomed herself. She proved she couldn't take the heat. Either she couldn't take the heat or her heart just wasn't "in it."

In any case, the microsecond that happened, she jettisoned all the power cables from the Mother Ship.

Texas Fred also asked, in his post: "What has happened to the idea of *straight talk*?"

I responded, in the comments section:

Fred, I can tell you why NO ONE wants to speak freely, clearly or truthfully anymore, and I can do it in two words:

FREE CHEESE.

The American electorate, the bulk of it, is only concerned with its Free Cheese. What can the “gubmint” GIVE ME?? is the rallying question from the great unwashed masses.

Politicians know this, and know that, without skyrocketing promises of MORE Free Cheese, they stand a snowball’s chance in Hell of acquiring much of any political seat.

The PEOPLE have brought this about; I believe every bit as much AS the politicians themselves.

The American electorate has lost its courage and is becoming more and more accustomed, through education, through youth, through the courts, of having their Free Cheese mindsets VALidated.

We’d best be talking, if we want to save this country, about a lot of NO! in our immediate future.

You know, Fred, any politician truly capable of saying NO! to the electorate?

Really? Honestly?

WHO is there?

So I ask that question to ALL of my readers:

WHO is any kind of a viable Conservative presidential candidate for 2012?

And can they say NO?

ObamaKare This Week:

The first vote on the ObamaKare package comes up in the Senate this coming week. From the Evil Fox News:

Despite Uphill Climb, Reid Is Poised to Muscle Health Care Through Senate
by FOXNews.com
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is awaiting final word from the Congressional Budget Office on costs and coverage implications of the still-secret bill he submitted more than two weeks ago.

Under pressure from the White House, Majority Leader Harry Reid says he plans to bring a health care reform package to the floor of the Senate next week, and his goal is to see it passed by the end of the year.

It appears the Demorats may be pushing for full-on cloture in the Senate.

What is cloture? Literally, it is "A parliamentary procedure by which debate is ended and an immediate vote is taken on the matter under discussion. Also called closure."

This is a way to end debate or filibuster, essentially having the ability to ramroad ObamaKare through the Senate.

With that in mind, there is a website extant called Talk PAC which states:
Send a message to Harry Reid and vulnerable Democrat Senators: If you vote for Government Healthcare, against the will of the voters in your state, you will pay a price in the 2010 election.

Here, you will find news and video on ObamaKare, and you may donate if you wish.

The Democrats in the Senate who face voters in 2010 know they have drawn the short straw. Their colleagues who ran and won in 2006 and 2008 had the wind at their back. This class survived the George Bush win of 2004 only to now land in the middle of the blowback against President Obama and his huge lurch left. Even now aggressive groups like TalkPac.com are busy raising funds to deploy against those most vulnerable Senate Democrats who vote for cloture on Obamacare. The Democrats who had hoped to "hide" their support of Obamacare behind an eventual "no" vote as the bill passes into law have come to realize that in the era of new media, the electorate understands that the cloture vote is everything. To give a green light now is to own the bill that gets to the president's desk this year or next. There will be no shedding responsibility for the law if a yes vote on cloture is registered next week.

MoveOn.org is also proffering consequences for Demorats not fighting The Good ObamaKare Fight. They write, here, at a MoveOn.org petition site:
Democrats in the Senate need to know their constituents are watching how they vote on the health care reform that we've all worked so hard for. Make a pledge now so we can let the media and Senate leadership know how much support there will be for a primary challenger to any member of the Democratic Caucus who keeps health care reform from getting an up-or-down vote. You don't need your credit card right now—just let us know how much you pledge.

Yes, Joseph Lieberman has said he won't vote for ObamaKare if it contains a so-called "public option." But he's just one person. Hugh Hewitt lists four persons he believes can help swing the vote. Click on that link and make your calls. As you can see, the fight for ObamaKare is NOT over; it is just getting rolling.

Also: the Demorats made it known they are taking Immigration Reform into their sights come January. How does amnesty for 12 million illegal invaders sound to you? They're already pushing for illegals to be covered under ObamaKare. If illegals are then granted amnesty and then covered for healthcare, do you suspect there might be some votes acquired by Demorats? The photos? They are coming. The push for it is here. Out and out Socialism.

It's all interconnected. You see that; apparently the bulk of America does not yet. You need to get out and spread the word.

Do it soon.

Islam's Deeds On American Soil:

The terrorist murders of completely unarmed soldiers on the Ft Hood grounds recently, at the twin-handgun-fisted hands of Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan -- an Islamist insurrectionist -- is only one of a number of killing incidents directed at our country from Muslims.

Thanks to BobF, I would also submit these events for your consideration:

10/22/2002 USA Aspen Hill, MD 1 0 A bus driver is killed by Muslim snipers.

8/6/2003 USA Houston, TX 1 0 After undergoing a religious revival, a Saudi college student slashes the throat of a Jewish student with a 4" butterfly knife, nearly decapitating the young man.

12/2/2003 USA Chicago, IL 1 0 A Muslim doctor deliberately allows a Jewish patient to die from an easily treatable condition.

4/13/2004 USA Raleigh, NC 1 4 A Muslim man runs down five strangers with a car.

4/15/2004 USA Scottsville, NY 1 2 In an honor killing, a Muslim father kills his wife and attacks his two daughters with a knife and hammer because he feared that they had been sexually molested.

6/16/2006 USA Baltimore, MD 1 0 A 62-year-old Jewish moviegoer is shot to death by a Muslim gunman in an unprovoked terror attack.

6/25/2006 USA Denver, CO 1 5 Saying that it was ‘Allah’s choice’, a Muslim shoots four of his co-workers and a police officer.

7/28/2006 USA Seattle, WA 1 5 An ‘angry’ Muslim-American uses a young girl as hostage to enter a local Jewish center, where he shoots six women, one of whom dies.

10/6/2006 USA Louisville, KY 4 1 In an ‘honor’ attack, a Muslim man rapes and beats his estranged wife, leaving her for dead, then savagely murders their four children.

2/13/2007 USA Salt Lake City, UT 5 4 A Muslim immigrant goes on a shooting rampage at a mall, targeting people buying Valentine’s Day cards at a gift shop and killing five.

1/1/2008 USA Irving, TX 2 0 A Muslim immigrant shoots his two daughters to death on concerns about their ‘Western’ lifestyle.

7/6/2008 USA Jonesboro, GA 1 0 A devout Muslim strangles his 25-year-old daughter in an honor killing.

2/12/2009 USA Buffalo, NY 1 0 The founder of a Muslim TV station beheads his wife in the hallway for seeking a divorce.

6/1/2009 USA Little Rock, AR Muslim convert shoots two soldiers outside of recruiter station; one soldier dies.

Here is the Truth: the Ft Hood terrorist attack was the worst on American soil since 9/11.

And Mr Obama full well knows that any terror attack on American soil during his administration will doom him for a second term. Therefore, it is in his political best interest to craft and shape and mischaracterize any Islamist attack away from that focus and into the "isolated violent act" category with no reference to Islam whatsoever. Hence his current moves.

Those persons who died were disposable -- for Mr Obama's politics. You. Me. We would have been disposable as well. Do you realize how incredibly craven and disgusting that is?

Ah, Islam: the religion of peace, tolerance, understanding and respect for women.

Daily Kos: STOP Dollars to Dems

Markos Moulitsas, who started the Daily Kos, seems to think that it's time to stop writing checks to the DCCC. He stated so here.

It's because the Demorats are insufficiently Left for the Left.

This is a wonderful thing. It's what I've been writing for, literally, years: the Demorats really are insufficiently Left for the Left.

I couldn't have said or written it better myself: stop sending money to the Demorats. Pure!

The Dems/Kos is/are agitated here.

Glenn Thrush at Politico writes:

Kos impresario and [Tancredo hunter] Markos Moulitsas is urging fellow liberals to ditch donating to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee — because the party is backing a slew of battleground district moderates/conservatives who voted against the big health care bill on Saturday.

Omigawd! You mean --gulp! -- that everything isn't pure?

No.

Not quite.

Conservatives have problems?

Well, Leftists, Socialists, Marxists, Fascists have them too.

Imagine that.

All is not lost yet.

Take heart.

Warning Signs:

The warning signs were there for the military to see.

The military ignored those signs, because the American People demanded that the military ignore them. It is bad to be judgmental, regarding Islam and its participants, particularly following September 11th of 2001.

It's no more complicated than that.

The military was too timid, lacking candor, enveloped in fear.

Americans are, by and large, Good People. But along with that they are also isolated, gullible, vacuous, ill-educated, ignorant and, dare I say it, arrogant in their jejune views. Predominantly, they don't wish to acknowledge that there is actual Evil in the world, that it prospers, that it is enjoyable, that it can't be reasoned- and/or negotiated-with, that some persons actively choose it, that some persons embrace it and cannot be "changed."

Was the writing not on the wall? Read:

Army massacre fiend Nidal Malik Hasan attended a Virginia mosque at the same time as two of the 9/11 hijackers -- and the FBI is now investigating whether there is a connection between the men, an official confirmed yesterday.

Maj. Hasan -- the Army psychiatrist accused of fatally shooting 13 people and wounding 29 others at Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday -- had held his mother's funeral at the Dar al Hijrah Islamic Center in Falls Church, Va., in May 2001.

The mosque's imam at the time was the ultraradical Anwar Aulaqi, thought to have ties to Osama bin Laden.

And yet, thirteen lives were lost and many more lives were changed or destroyed.

Criminal profiling is completely appropriate, be it via ethnicity, height, weight, clothing, vehicle, modus operandi, culture or religion.

This is nothing more than common sense -- except that sense, these days, is much less than common.

Joe Lieberman actually deigned to state the obvious:

But clearly, the massacre might have been an act of terrorism, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) said yesterday.

"I want to say very quickly we don't know enough to say now, but there are very, very strong warning signs here that Dr. Hasan had become an Islamist extremist and, therefore, that this was a terrorist act," Lieberman told "Fox News Sunday."

Lieberman as Independent: Evil. Fox News: Evil.

Imagine that. Looks like Leftists do have a sense of Evil -- only massively biased.

Apparently Hasan tried to contact al Qaeda (The Base).

It was also confirmed, as I wrote earlier, that Hasan possessed a FN FiveseveN 5.7mm handgun. He also carried a .357 magnum revolver.

Confirming my thoughts, Bob Weir writes in the American Thinker:

The brutal massacre of thirteen unarmed soldiers and the wounding of dozens more at Fort Hood, Texas is another terrorist act on American soil that could have been prevented if not for an insidious cloud of political correctness that has taken this country hostage.

The victims of this horrific tragedy died at the hands of an enemy masquerading as a friend.

Those soldiers had every reason to believe they were safe on an army base, surrounded by their patriotic brothers and sisters. They volunteered to serve their country, knowing full well that they might lose their lives on a battlefield in a foreign land.

Could any of them have imagined that the end would come at the hands of a Muslim extremist wearing the uniform of an Army Major?

Again, in my opinon, Mr Weir "states the obvious" in terms of our national reaction to various incidents regarding Islam.

Further, Selwyn Duke -- again, at American Thinker -- asks:

We now know that Major Hasan did not hide his true loyalties and often expressed Islamist sentiments. For example, the Telegraph quotes former Hasan colleague Col. Terry Lee as saying, "[Hasan] was making outlandish comments condemning our foreign policy and claimed Muslims had the right to rise up and attack Americans"; that Hasan admitted to being "happy" upon learning of the Muslim who killed a soldier at an Arkansas military recruitment center; and that he once said, "maybe people should strap bombs on themselves and go to Times Square."

Chron.com reports that Hasan had created "Internet postings that discussed suicide bombings and other threats," and that "one of the Web postings that authorities reviewed is a blog that equates suicide bombers with a soldier throwing himself on a grenade to save the lives of his comrades."

Given this, was it really shocking when Hasan walked among the "aggressors" and yelled Allahu Akbar before punctuating his story with a burst of violence?

No. This should not come as a shock.

Unless. Of course. You exist as a country that quakes in fear of Reality.

Mr Duke continues with his vein of Common Sense:

Why was an obvious jihadist in our military in the first place, let alone promoted to major?

Well, the question has already been answered. We have become a sick society, where fantasies are favored and reality is called "racist." If there were an officer of Japanese descent in our military during WWII, he wouldn't have lasted til the next day's rising sun if he had expressed pro-Imperial Japanese sentiments. But that was then, when America was America, before she was sacrificed on the altar of the leftist dystopia in utopian clothing.

Furthermore, only a sick society would tolerate a far more dangerous fifth column: those traitors who, as Cicero said 2,000 years ago, appear not as traitors, who speak in accents familiar to their victims, who wear their victims' face and use their arguments.

I speak of those who wasted no time painting Hasan as a victim: writers such as Kenyon Wallace, who only emphasized the claim that the major was "harassed" by colleagues and theorized that post-traumatic stress disorder might have influenced this man who never saw a firefight until he started one at Fort Hood.

What bunk. Sure, Hasan got into heated arguments with fellow officers and was called names.

But that's not called harassment. Harassment is when you disgorge the enemy's rhetoric with a violent tongue. It's called a defense of God, country, and culture. It's called pushing back when pushed.

Our military simply collapsed. Because it feared. It was frightened. And it felt unsupported.

And WE, as Americans, MADE it frightened.

ObamaKare Passes the House

ObamaKare passed the House, in the dark of night, on a Saturday -- not during the week, not in the light of day.

Appropriate, don't you think?

It passed 220 to 215 -- a five vote difference.

Pelosi is beside herself with glee.

From AP:

At its core, the measure would create a federally regulated marketplace where consumers could shop for coverage. In the bill's most controversial provision, the government would sell insurance, although the Congressional Budget Office forecasts that premiums for it would be more expensive than for policies sold by private companies.

The bill drew the votes of 219 Democrats and Rep. Joseph Cao, a first-term Republican who holds an overwhelmingly Democratic seat in New Orleans. Opposed were 176 Republicans and 39 Democrats.

To pay for the expansion of coverage, the bill cuts Medicare's projected spending by more than $400 billion over a decade. It also imposes a tax surcharge of 5.4 percent on income over $500,000 in the case of individuals and $1 million for families.

America, you have little idea what you're about to get. It will be something that, essentially, cannot be taken back.

You'd best be closely examining WHO voted for this abortion in your area.
