(in-ep-toc'-ra-cy) - a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed, are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

DC To America: Go To Hell; You're Getting Amnesty For Mexicans

Let's be frank: this isn't amnesty for the French, or for Canadians, or for Ethiopians or Tongans or Micronesians or "hispanics" -- DC is talking amnesty only for Mexicans.

DC is bound and determined to get it any way they can -- be it legally, ignorantly or unlawfully. Quite frankly, DC couldn't care less about rules or laws or ethics or the American Taxpayer when it comes to philosophy and the things they simply want, right or wrong.

DC wants amnesty for Mexicans and it's going to push every direction in any way using any tactic until that goal is acquired.

From The Washington Times:

With Congress gridlocked on an immigration bill, the Obama administration is considering using a back door to stop deporting many illegal immigrants - what a draft government memo said could be "a non-legislative version of amnesty."

The memo, addressed to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Director Alejandro Mayorkas and written by four agency staffers, lists tools it says the administration has to "reduce the threat of removal" for many illegal immigrants who have run afoul of immigration authorities.

"In the absence of comprehensive immigration reform, USCIS can extend benefits and/or protections to many individuals and groups by issuing new guidance and regulations, exercising discretion with regard to parole-in-place, deferred action and the issuance of Notices to Appear," the staffers wrote in the memo, which was obtained by Sen. Charles E. Grassley, Iowa Republican.

The memo suggests that in-depth discussions have occurred on how to keep many illegal immigrants in the country, which would be at least a temporary alternative to the proposals Democrats in Congress have made to legalize illegal immigrants.

Naturally, once the memo was released bureaucrats threw a bit of a camshaft and relayed assuagingly:

Chris Bentley, a USCIS spokesman, said drafting the memo doesn't mean the agency has embraced the policy and "nobody should mistake deliberation and exchange of ideas for final decisions."

Of course not. Perish the thought. Furthest from my mind. Didn't pay it any attention. Move on. Nothing to see here. These are not the droids you're looking for.

Jedi mind trick.

However, please consider this:

In the editorial section of Investors Business Daily, a rather staid and smoky internet room, Christian and Robbins wrote:

The Internet is a large-scale version of the "Committees of Correspondence" that led to the first American Revolution — and with Washington's failings now so obvious and awful, it may lead to another.

Barack Obama, however, has pulled off the ultimate switcheroo: He's diminishing America from within — so far, successfully.

He may soon bankrupt us and replace our big merit-based capitalist economy with a small government-directed one of his own design.

He is undermining our constitutional traditions: The rule of law and our Anglo-Saxon concepts of private property hang in the balance. Obama may be the most "consequential" president ever.

The Wall Street Journal's steadfast Dorothy Rabinowitz wrote that Barack Obama is "an alien in the White House."

His bullying and offenses against the economy and job creation are so outrageous that CEOs in the Business Roundtable finally mustered the courage to call him "anti-business." Veteran Democrat Sen. Max Baucus blurted out that Obama is engineering the biggest government-forced "redistribution of income" in history.

Under Dodd-Frank, he and his agents will control all credit and financial transactions, rewarding friends and punishing opponents, discriminating on the basis of race, gender and political affiliation. Credit and liquidity may be choked by bureaucracy and politics — and the economy will suffer.

He and the EPA may try to impose by "regulatory" fiats many parts of the cap-and-trade and other climate legislation that failed in the Congress.

And by executive orders and the in terrorem effect of an industrywide "boot on the neck" policy, he can continue to diminish energy production in the United States.

By the trick of letting current-law tax rates "expire," he can impose a $3.5 trillion 10-year tax increase that damages job-creating capital investment in an economy struggling to recover. And by failing to enforce the law and leaving America's borders open, he can continue to repopulate America with unfortunate illegals whose skill and education levels are low and whose political attitudes are often not congenial to American-style democracy.

A wounded rampaging president can do much damage — and, like Caesar, the evil he does will live long after he leaves office, whenever that may be.

The overgrown, un-pruned power of the presidency to reward, punish and intimidate may now be so overwhelming that his re-election in 2012 is already assured — Chicago-style.

I couldn't put it better myself.

Here's your possible November, America.

If you go sideways, I hope you choke on your votes.

After that, the gloves may truly be off.

Demorat Plans For November?

-- to completely hose the American Taxpayer post-November as potential "lame ducks."

From the Republican Study Committee:

Democrats Keep Door Open to Dangerous Lame Duck Session

Washington, Jul 29 - Republican Study Committee Chairman Tom Price (R-GA) issued the following statement after offering a resolution on the floor of the House of Representatives calling on Congress not to hold a lame duck session after Election Day for the purpose of passing hugely unpopular legislation like a national energy tax, enormous deficit spending bills, and the kickback to Big Labor known as “Card Check.”

“Americans are sick and tired of their elected leaders making backroom deals to ram through unpopular, 2000-page bills that no one has read,” said Chairman Price. “They are sick of out-of-touch politicians, and they are tired of being ignored. A number of Democrats, including members of their leadership, have recently expressed a desire to ignore the public will and use a lame duck session to pass liberal legislation Americans do not want. Today I gave my Democrat colleagues an opportunity to show they are finally ready to listen to the American people.

“Our system of government rests upon the consent of the governed, but it is quite clear that Democrats no longer have Americans’ consent. The public’s trust in this Congress has been repeatedly broken. Voting for a national energy tax and other items on the liberal wish list in a lame duck session would shatter it beyond repair. Republicans are fully prepared to do what is necessary to restore Americans’ trust in their elected representatives. We know it will be a long road, but it is one well worth traveling.”

So guess what the track of the Demorats will be? I suspect you now have an inkling.

Pass every lousy, nation-defeating, budget-sapping oppressive bill they can muster.

And remember, ladies and gentlemen -- this is their plan if they LOSE. Can you imagine their buoyancy and plans if they WIN?

FEDERAL Judge Halts AZ Immigration Bill

I'm not providing information, likely, that you haven't already heard on Wednesday. I will have, however, a different take at the end of the post.

First, the facts; from the Arizona Daily Star:

A federal judge this morning blocked several critical provisions of Arizona's new immigration law from taking effect, delivering a last-minute victory to opponents of the law that brought the state a flurry of mostly negative international attention.

The overall law will still take effect Thursday, but without the provisions that angered opponents. Sections barred from being enforced include:

• Requiring a police officer to make a reasonable attempt to check the immigration status of those they have stopped;
• Forbidding police from releasing anyone they have arrested until that person's immigration status is determined;
• Making it a violation of Arizona law for anyone not a citizen to fail to carry documentation;
• Creating a new state crime for trying to secure work while not a legal resident;
• Allowing police to make warrantless arrests if there is a belief the person has committed an offense that allows them to be removed from the United States.

"Requiring Arizona law enforcement officials and agencies to determine the immigration status of every person who is arrested burdens lawfully-present aliens because their liberty will be restricted while their status is checked," U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled.

Sen. Russell Pearce, R-Mesa, who crafted the legislation, vowed an immediate appeal.

"I'm disappointed Judge Bolton doesn't have more respect for the law, the damage to America" from illegal immigrants, he said. Pearce repeated his argument — the same one presented by John Bouma, the attorney for Gov. Jan Brewer — that everything in SB 1070 "is about enforcing existing law."

"I look at this as a bump in the road," said Brewer. "This is a temporary injunction saying that the feds don't have to do their job.''

The governor said she fully expects an appeal. Regardless, Brewer pointed out this is only an interim order, with the legality of SB 1070 to be determined after a full-blown trial.

And she said Bolton, while "well informed and very thoughtful,'' is wrong in concluding the law goes beyond the legal authority of the state.

This is a shoddy and embarrassing decision. Judge Bolton has essentially said that, because the federal side couldn't handle the results of the state law, that is sufficient to nullify the Arizona law. Another Executive branch power grab.

And this is the same federal government that refuses to sue so-called "sanctuary cities."

Trust me: the decision will be appealed, vigorously, all the way up to SCOTUS if need be.

But here's my take on the gross nullification of a STATE law by a FEDERAL judge on Wednesday: this decision is going to help radicalize people like myself and others.

This is indeed a galvanizing event. Perhaps the galvanizing event for November.

It can have no other outcome. The federal government in general and the current occupants in DC are not only factually and historically Tone Deaf, they have gravely mistaken and misread the general temperament and temperature of the country. They are playing to a very small minority of their philosophical Left.

This is judicial activism at its worst and it won't be tolerated. As John Roberts said in his statement before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2005:

Judges and justices are servants of the law, not the other way around. Judges are like umpires.

Umpires don't make the rules; they apply them.

The role of an umpire and a judge is critical. They make sure everybody plays by the rules. But it is a limited role. Nobody ever went to a ball game to see the umpire.

Judges have to have the humility to recognize that they operate within a system of precedent, shaped by other judges equally striving to live up to the judicial oath.

I concur; judges aren't players, they're umpires. Judge Bolton envisions herself a player not unlike a Lebron James, to stand out in the national limelight.

Right now, at this point, Demorats have proven they cannot be trusted with any aspect of American life.

Is this not one point in a continuing series of decisions, actions and inactions which, bottom line, have served to essentially declare war on common sense and the American Taxpayer?

America: DC conspires against you.

Go ahead: prove me wrong.

2012 GOP Nominee?

There is a remarkable convergence, apparently, on the Right and on the Left.

Liberals want Sarah Palin to run in 2012 as well.

I suspect that, at this point, one side thinks it surreptitiously "has it over" the other side.

I therefore submit:

Whom might you tend to support in a 2012 Presidential run?

I'm throwing out, for instance, the names of Paul Ryan and Chris Christie.

Obama: Free The Lockerbie Bomber

THE US government secretly advised Scottish ministers it would be "far preferable" to free the Lockerbie bomber than jail him in Libya.

Correspondence obtained by The Sunday Times reveals the Obama administration considered compassionate release more palatable than locking up Abdel Baset al-Megrahi in a Libyan prison.

The intervention, which has angered US relatives of those who died in the attack, was made by Richard LeBaron, deputy head of the US embassy in London, a week before Megrahi was freed in August last year on grounds that he had terminal cancer.

The document, acquired by a well-placed US source, threatens to undermine US President Barack Obama's claim last week that all Americans were "surprised, disappointed and angry" to learn of Megrahi's release.

Scottish ministers viewed the level of US resistance to compassionate release as "half-hearted" and a sign it would be accepted.

This is a "compassionate" release. Except that 259 people died on the aircraft, and 11 died on the ground. Of those persons in Pan Am 103, 190 were American citizens.

Mr Obama pisses on the deaths of those sovereign citizens. They mean nothing to him.

Here is how you can easily adjudge any decision to be made by Mr Obama:

Choose the pro-American or pro-logical path.

Mr Obama will make the precise opposite decision.

See how easy that is?

UK Healthcare Changing Towards American Model; Obama Still Wants Unworkable UK Model:

Just as Mr Obama and his sniveling jackanapes want government-controlled healthcare for the entire nation -- completely eliminating private healthcare insurance and with vacuous gubmint bureaucrats and bean-counters determining your healthcare future -- the UK has now decided to move away from that model.

At this point you're likely saying: "But wait, BZ, that can't be true. You mean to say that the Europeans seem to be learning lessons from their various experiments with Socialism and are discovering that, in general, it busts budgets and cheapens lives?"

Yes, I say.

And further, you're thinking: "Yet, despite all that, our own federal politicians are providing clear indications that not only are they Tone Deaf but, further, they are entirely incapable of learning anything from history -- even recent history?"

Yes, I say.

Read this, if you would be so kind, about the UK's newest National Health Service move:

LONDON — Perhaps the only consistent thing about Britain’s socialized health care system is that it is in a perpetual state of flux, its structure constantly changing as governments search for the elusive formula that will deliver the best care for the cheapest price while costs and demand escalate.

Even as the new coalition government said it would make enormous cuts in the public sector, it initially promised to leave health care alone. But in one of its most surprising moves so far, it has done the opposite, proposing what would be the most radical reorganization of the National Health Service, as the system is called, since its inception in 1948.

Practical details of the plan are still sketchy. But its aim is clear: to shift control of England’s $160 billion annual health budget from a centralized bureaucracy to doctors at the local level. Under the plan, $100 billion to $125 billion a year would be meted out to general practitioners, who would use the money to buy services from hospitals and other health care providers.

Read that again: "to shift control of England's $160 billion annual health budget from a centralized bureaucracy to doctors at the local level."

Continuing:

In a document, or white paper, outlining the plan, the government admitted that the changes would “cause significant disruption and loss of jobs.” But it said: “The current architecture of the health system has developed piecemeal, involves duplication and is unwieldy. Liberating the N.H.S., and putting power in the hands of patients and clinicians, means we will be able to effect a radical simplification, and remove layers of management.”

Read that again: "Liberating the NHS and putting power in the hands of patients and clinicians, means we will be able to effect a radical simplification, and remove layers of management."

And yet Mr Obama and a good portion of the House have made it clear they are for nothing more than government controlled and rationed health care.

The United Kingdom and Canada are finally beginning to realize that a government controlled healthcare system is unworkable, too costly and inefficient.

In America, ObamaKare is solely and purposely agenda driven. Saving lives, reducing costs? Not the end game in mind with DC. No. It is about power and control.

This recent course change by the UK proves, again, that the Obama regime in Washington is not only unsustainable (to utilize one of their own favorite buzzwords) but nonsensical.

The current federal administration couldn't care less about you, the American Taxpayer.

And if you older folk die and those in need don't acquire their meds or operations, well, that's just the cost of "wealth distribution" and bringing America down to its "proper" place in the world.

Sacrifices have to be made. Mr Obama couldn't care less if it's you.

Texas Ranches Seized By Drug Cartel? Ranchers Evacuated?

A Mexican invasion onto sovereign American soil where US property is taken by force?

TexasFred first reported here.

You can see the stories here, here and -- the story first "broken" here.

And this, oddly enough, from the Los Angeles Examiner.

IF the incident unfolds as truthful and verified (it is now, as of this writing, 2230 hrs., Saturday the 24th), then some might interpret this action as warlike in nature. Due to the potential ramifications, I could see an agreed-upon MSM freeze whilst the federal government, directly from DC, considers its options.

Because, if this is verified and the fact patterns are correct and, moreover, any Americans are injured in any way -- at minimum amnesty is dead and, at the worst, the anger of US citizens could truly escape.

As I conclude this post, no action on Drudge or Fox or WSJ. A hoax? Not impossible. But consider the questions posed here regarding alleged statements made by Laredo PD.

In Honor of Capt Phil Harris:

I've been watching the final episodes of this season's Deadliest Catch. I just finished the one hour Phil Harris retrospective. The season finale is coming this Tuesday the 27th.

Born in 1956, he lived hard and died young at age 53. He was a true cowboy of the sea, growing up at a time when you could make $130,000 in one season as a deckhand, in 1980s money, in the wide open and free-for-all derby system in Alaska.

And I know, like his sons, what it means to be adrift.

One thing the sons will come to always treasure is the documentation they've been provided by Discovery of the life and times with their father.

This is just one of those times where a person's passing has really struck me. I mean, struck me. And I can't put my finger directly on the reason.

Tuesday's Gone With The Wind:

God bless you, Phil -- like the Eagles said:

You were too fast to live, too young to die;

Do you think the Cornelia Marie will be back next season and, if so, with roughly the same crew? Moreover, will the sons help to staff the boat?

November: Vote All The Bastards Out!

With this national caveat: "vote out everyone else's -- but not mine."

In my instance, I -- not so oddly -- stand firmly with my own local bastard and I am not voting him out.

Because he is Tom McClintock, an Actual Conservative. And I am honored that he is representing me and mine in the 4th District of Fornicalia.

Remember the speech he gave in the House, in response to President Calderon?

Now - DEMORATS: "CREATING UNEMPLOYMENT"

Just this past Thursday, on July 22nd, Mr McClintock made the following speech in the House, directly addressing Speaker Pelosi:

In textual transcript:

Anyone who has experienced firsthand the quiet panic that stalks every waking hour of an unemployed family knows how frightening and debilitating is chronic unemployment. You watch your savings evaporate, you see your children going without the material things their friends enjoy, and you count down the months or even weeks until you won't be able to make that crucial rent or house payment.

That unemployment check is a lifeline in such times, and I fully appreciate and understand how desperately an unemployed family is looking to the security of getting 99 weeks of such checks.

But I can't go along with this for a simple reason: The only way out of this nightmare of unemployment for these families is a job.

Speaker Pelosi has said that the most important thing we could do to create jobs is to extend unemployment benefits to 99 weeks, because the unemployed would spend this money and stimulate the economy.

This analysis completely ignores the harsh and glaring fact that before this money can be put back into the economy, it must first be taken out of that same economy. We will have to take $34 billion more out of the economy in order to finance these extra benefits through November. In fact, this is the eighth such extension, totalling $120 billion – meaning over $1,600 from the pocket of an average family of four.

And since we don't have that money, we'll have to borrow it from exactly the same capital pool that would otherwise have been loaned to businesses seeking to expand jobs or to homebuyers seeking to re-enter the housing market or to consumers seeking to make consumer purchases – and remember that 2/3 of economic growth depends upon consumer spending.

But that money now won't be there to loan for jobs and homes and economic growth.

This is $34 billion of relief to the unemployed that they desperately need and that I desperately wish we could responsibly extend. But to do so would also mean $34 billion of fewer jobs. It means perpetuating this never-ending nightmare of unemployment for these families and, indeed, throwing more families into that nightmare.

We've been told for several years now – by both Presidents Bush and Obama – that stimulus spending would help the economy. But it hasn't. And there's a reason it hasn't: Government cannot inject a single dollar into the economy that it first hasn't taken out of that same economy. Government cannot provide a dollar of temporary relief to the unemployed without first removing a dollar of permanent relief for the unemployed – a job.

The talking point du jour from the other side is, "Republicans have no problems giving tax breaks to the wealthy but won't extend a lifeline to the unemployed." Once again, they just don't get it. Milton Friedman once observed that spending IS the effective level of taxation. Spending can only be paid for in two ways – current taxes or future taxes. High taxes and deficits are just the symptoms. The problem is the spending – and this is a spending bill.

On May 9, 1939 – after nearly a decade of unemployment checks and stimulus spending – and with unemployment at 17.2 percent – Franklin Roosevelt's Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Morgenthau, made this stunning admission during a meeting with Democratic Members of the House Ways and Means Committee. He said: "No gentlemen, we have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work. And I have just one interest, and if I am wrong as far as I am concerned, somebody else can have my job. I want to see this country prosperous. I want to see people get a job. I want to see people get enough to eat. We have never made good on our promises ... I say after eight years of this Administration we have just as much unemployment as when we started ... And an enormous debt to boot!"

M. Speaker, let us heed the lessons of history before we totally destroy our economy. Perpetual unemployment checks put these desperate families farther and farther away from the only thing that can truly end their suffering – a real job. That's a fact nobody wants to face around here – but until we do, chronic unemployment will continue to stalk the land, and God forbid that a few years from now another Democratic Secretary of Treasury will have to make the same admission as Henry Morgenthau did 71 years ago.

Please read and listen.

Mr McClintock makes way too much fiscal sense. Which is why he isn't President or Governor. Because he threatens the Demorats, Socialists, Leftists and is certainly not assisted in any fashion by any molecule of American media.

Please read and listen, America:

Mr McClintock was and is placed on Permanent Ignore Mode by the Demorats.

Because my bastard dares to speak the truth.

Leftists Defining the TEA Party: REFUSE To Allow It!

Granted, there are divisions in the TEA Party.

What the Leftists and Progressives and Demorats don't know, however, is this:

There is no one "central" TEA Party administration. It is much more and -- in truth -- much less than that. It is more a conglomeration of ideas than a central organization or a person or a series of persons. Those who say only "they" represent any portion of the TEA Party are lying.

TEA Parties are amorphous and ever-changing. With one exception: their beliefs in Conservatism. Not REPUBLICAN conservatism, but actual Conservatism with a capital "C."

And to you Republican asshats who keep calling me daily from DC, though I've put my personal and private telephone numbers on the federal Do Not Call Registry -- calling from (202) 870-5170 or 5173 -- you're about to receive a rather loud surprise tomorrow when I answer the phone. Woe be to the person who calls. It won't be pretty and I won't be civil.

NO money to the GOP. NO money to the RNCC and to anything associated with Michael Steele. Money ONLY to your LOCAL True Conservatives -- no matter their party of affiliation!

One thing you must understand if you're a Conservative:

The Leftists and Progressives and Demorats are doing their level-best to DEFINE YOU on THEIR terms. They want to portray us ALL as racists and two-toed sloths.

If we stand aside, as many of the Republicans are -- then we simply acquiesce and get what we deserve. Those who cower in fear are doomed to their own purgatory.

However, if we REFUSE to be defined and verbally fight back -- taking the lead in terms of Talking Points -- then we gain the upper hand. We CANNOT AFFORD to let others define Conservatives as they see fit. We cannot subsume; we cannot become "background."

Scott Brown, as an excellent first example -- he of the "pickup truck"-- should never be elected again. Those who voted for that asshat got snookered. He lied. Never again. Never AGAIN. He betrayed your vote.

Because here is what happens at the end of the day:

The Demorats all get together with the RINOs and hotfoot it over to the local DC watering holes and laugh it up, backslapping and expensive call drinks all around. As long as THEY have THEIRS -- you, The American Taxpayer, can go straight to HELL.

Conservatives, I say to you: BEWARE the Republican. Pick and choose your votes carefully come November.

Do not become assumptive, do not become arrogant, do not think that the future is written in stone. The Demorats are pushing like never before in the history of this nation.

November is NOT a "given." It IS a "given," however, that Conservatism WILL LOSE if you do little or nothing. There is no GREATER single-vote illiterate motivator than the promise of Free Cheese. And the Demorats want their voters dependent and stupid.

If the Demorats win, it is a "given" that you will never recognize your country again.

Sandy Cruise & Capitola

My wife and I spent the last three nights in the Santa Cruz & Capitola area, which is adjacent Monterey Bay. You can see that Santa Cruz (click on map to expand) is in the upper portion of the map, with Monterey and Pacific Grove in the lower portion of the bay. You can also see that Monterey Bay borders a rather deep ocean canyon which drops off precipitously.
This is the Capitola Wharf, at the end of which is a seafood restaurant called the Wharf House, where we had dinner Monday night.
The area is replete with kayak rentals. There is a three mile radius limit for paddling. Three miles is a really, really long way if you're in a kayak. These people are in the midst of one of the famous Monterey Bay kelp beds.
This is the Stockton Bridge in the town of Capitola-By-The-Sea. In the area, because of the wages, Capitola PD is where one wanted to work when looking for local law enforcement employment. This is the Soquel River running under the bridge and towards the sea.
Entrance to the wharf.
If there's a will, there's a way.
Small boat fishing. The ocean was very calm.
Boats anchored south of the Capitola Wharf.
Today is now a "driving back" day. As you read this I'll be heading north, once again, on Highway 1 back towards work. Heavy sigh. Please click on the photographs for full expansion and detail. Take care, dearest readers. Back to the chug tomorrow.

Your US Government: It Forced the Loss of TENS of THOUSANDS of PRIVATE SECTOR Jobs!

Hold onto your hats, here's a tough one to believe:

Your glorious and benevolent federal government may have been responsible for the deletion of, at minimum, tens of thousands of private sector jobs when it steamrollered over GM and Chrysler.

The Treasury Department failed to consider the economic fallout when it told General Motors and Chrysler to quickly shutter many dealerships as part of government-led bankruptcies, a federal watchdog found.

"Oh no," you must be saying, "my Leftist Federal Government couldn't possibly be responsible for this!" you cry. "Mr Obama swears he only creates jobs -- he doesn't delete jobs!"
A report released Sunday (07/18/10) by the special inspector general for the government's bailout program raised questions about whether the Obama administration's auto task force considered the job losses from the closings while pressuring the companies to reduce costs.

Treasury didn't show why the cuts were "either necessary for the sake of the companies' economic survival or prudent for the sake of the nation's economic recovery," said the audit by Neil Barofsky, the special inspector general for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, the $787 billion stimulus program known as TARP.

Hold it right there! Is it even remotely being intimated that the Obama Federal Government may have not known what it was doing in its omnipotence? That it may -- gulp! -- have even been acting in a rash, uneducated and ignorant fashion?

Treasury made a series of decisions that may have substantially contributed to the accelerated shuttering of thousands of small businesses," investigators said.

Those decisions resulted in "potentially adding tens of thousands of workers to the already lengthy unemployment rolls - all based on a theory and without sufficient consideration of the decisions' broader economic impact," the report said.

So there you have it, dearest readers.

In one stroke of a pen, Mr Obama in his lofty, pompous, and conceited way forcibly wrested control of two major American car manufacturers and, in the process, managed to eliminate TENS OF THOUSANDS of small business jobs -- local dealerships and their employees -- thereby HIMSELF contributing to the RISING unemployment lines.

Go try to find this story. At NBC, CBS, NBC or any of the other governmental sphincter-licking media outlets.

Good luck with that.

Going Away

I've decided that it's time to get away from work for a few days.

My department is run by arrogant and ignorant morons who couldn't plan their way, in advance, out of a drive-in theatre, who can't seem to find the people they need on their speed-dial and, instead, believe it's cool to unload at high decibel levels to subordinates they think they can intimidate: namely me. Uh, wrong. Instead, I utter a one-word reply and hang up. Fuck. Them. I'm on the Two Day Rule: two consecutive days of stupid shit and I'm gone. [Unimportant Minutiae: For those offended that I've written shit and fuck: fuck you. Perhaps you're sensing that I'm just a hair wound-up at this precise and specific moment in time?]

My wife and I are packing up and taking a four-day vacation to the ocean. Instead of going north, this time we're going south to Santa Cruz.

I'm leaving work behind. I've blocked work numbers on the cell. I'm not doing any more O.T. And, as I wrote to my two brothers: "My cell is on if you want to hear what I sound like drunk on those days."

Aren't there, truly, times when you feel like repeating the classic John Cleese line in "Silverado" as, after having his hat shot off, Sheriff Langston says: "Today, my jurisdiction ends here."

For now, my jurisdiction and BSTL ends here.

Mind you, I'll be blogging. I'm taking a laptop, likely the MacBook Pro. Probably posting photographs. Because, frankly, blogging frequently relaxes me and allows me to decompress.

Trust me: I'll not be thinking about work. Because if I come back and there's a smoking hole in the ground where my work site used to be, I'll be whistling "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life."

Toodle-ooo.

Update On Toyotas: A US Government Pro-GM Plot Revealed?

Toyota was clearly the Bad Guy. It was the prototypical Heartless Big Company which couldn't care less that thousands of Americans were either injured or killed in Toyota vehicles with clear and present defects resulting in sticking throttles.

Americans were slaughtered by the hundreds in traffic deaths involving runaway Toyota vehicles. The freeways and surface streets ran red with American blood at the hands of an uncaring foreign corporate giant. Giant. A heartless giant named:

Toyota (insert theme from Jaws here)!

Except for one little problem -- which has the NHTSA and the federal government secretly pissed off to the nth degree: it looks as though the bulk of the problems were not the fault of Toyota.

There. I wrote it. I am now awaiting the shower of federal government arrows raining down through the roof of my wife's house. Waiting. Waiting.

From the Wall Street Journal:

The U.S. Department of Transportation has analyzed dozens of data recorders from Toyota Motor Corp. vehicles involved in accidents blamed on sudden acceleration and found that the throttles were wide open and the brakes weren't engaged at the time of the crash, people familiar with the findings said.

The early results suggest that some drivers who said their Toyotas and Lexuses surged out of control were mistakenly flooring the accelerator when they intended to jam on the brakes.

Some are now indicating that Toyota itself "planted" the story with the WSJ. If so, that still does not negate the findings themselves.

Interesting, is it not?

A Brief Word About Racism & TEA Parties

The charge of "racism" is what one gets from the Left when they are fresh out of ideas or substantive thoughts -- which would be the bulk of the time.

When one lacks an argument, a cogent rebuttal, even a minimally witty retort, the Race Card is the simplest, easiest to play. It requires absolutely no thinking or cognitive effort. It packs a potential punch and is on the order of asking the rhetorical "so, when did you stop beating your wife?"

The NAACP recently decided to play the Race Card with regard to TEA Partiers. TEA Party members are racists. They yelled racial slurs at black Congressmen. They spit on a black Congressman.

Except: no they didn't. There is no proof. There is no video. Andrew Breitbart offered $100,000 for proof. No takers. Crickets chirping.

That declaration by the NAACP is apparently not entirely playing and sitting well with some black civil rights leaders.

Including those blacks who, oddly enough, just happen to embrace the TEA Party movement.

And meanwhile, in Kansas City, Michelle Obama tells blacks it's time to ratchet up the heat.

If you wish to see a real racist, you have to look no further than King Samir Shabazz in this video:

Or, truly, no further than Eric Holder or even Mr Barack Obama who, clearly, embraces Mr Holder's decisions.

Here is another racist, New Black Panther Party Chairman Malik Zulu Shabazz:

This man is not quite so overt as K.S. Shabazz; but he is every bit the racist and every bit as dangerous or, perhaps I suggest, moreso. You likely won't see Mr M.Z. Shabazz until the bullet exits your brain or the stiletto severs your spine.

Rhetoric and advocacy such as is expressed and conducted by the New Black Panther party does nothing but sully the good works of Dr Martin Luther King Jr. And apparently, all the national Racial Pimps are far from allowing people to be judged by the content of their character as opposed to the color of their skin.

"The Last Airbender" -- To Be AVOIDED

I have re-written this post twice in an attempt to be clever, humorous, insightful, and to provide much detail in terms of reasoning for my opinion.

I have since shoved that aside for the goal of brevity.

Because the movie simply doesn't warrant any kind of in-depth analysis.

Let me blunt: "The Last Airbender" is a turd. Avoid it at all costs. Save your money. It is a complete waste of your valuable time. It is senseless, pointless, has no plot that one can discern, no interesting characters. And further, if you absolutely must see it, avoid the 3D version. I have never yet experienced a movie with such lackluster and poor 3D. I wanted to get up and leave after only five minutes. Instead, I had to grind through the entire tedious and nonsensical mess. It was a soul-crushing two+ hours I lost, not to mention my valuable cash.

M. Night Shyamalan should be ashamed for putting his name to such an abortion of a film. Anyone besides myself notice that his films just keep getting worse? His only two good movies: "Sixth Sense" and "Signs."

If you see the film, don't say I didn't warn you.

Confirmation: This Country HAS Gone Insane

Simply watch the video.

All I can conclude is this: keep pushing, governments. Keep pushing the good people, the decent people, the people that pay their taxes, the quiet people, the compliant people, the cooperative people, the people that cause no trouble, want to be left to themselves, the people who believe in the core fundamentals such as, say, "don't steal." People who are actually citizens of this nation.

Keep pushing, governments.

If you do, I can pretty much guarantee you're not going to enjoy the fruits of your labored pushing.

One final clue: when you lose the ability and/or support of your military and your law enforcement, you shall know: you are completely doomed.

A note to military and law enforcement oath-keeping personnel: go here.

Obama: He Can't Stop Pushing

It's ingrained in his head and his directives: he can't stop pushing the American people.

Who clearly, now, have stated many times that he really should.

Even Demorats believe he needs to stop pushing. For example, from the NYT:

BOSTON — In a private meeting with White House officials this weekend, Democratic governors voiced deep anxiety about the Obama administration’s suit against Arizona’s new immigration law, worrying that it could cost a vulnerable Democratic Party in the fall elections.

While the weak economy dominated the official agenda at the summer meeting here of the National Governors Association, concern over immigration policy pervaded the closed-door session between Democratic governors and White House officials and simmered throughout the three-day event.

At the Democrats’ meeting on Saturday, some governors bemoaned the timing of the Justice Department lawsuit, according to two governors who spoke anonymously because the discussion was private.

“Universally the governors are saying, ‘We’ve got to talk about jobs,’ ” Gov. Phil Bredesen of Tennessee, a Democrat, said in an interview. “And all of a sudden we have immigration going on.”

Eric Holder is debating a suit against Arizona for "profiling," though the law says nothing of the sort and, further, AZ police agencies are specifically training against doing so -- merely confirming, to me, that Eric Holder is racist (for any number of reasons I previously delineated) and that, by extension, so is Mr Obama. Jews and Caucasoids are their enemies. The signs are present, their history is clear.

Mr Obama is in fact a Socialist and he is bent upon "redistribution of wealth." Not just the wealth of "the rich." YOUR wealth as well. You've been noticing, I'm sure, that what it takes to be considered "rich" is being incrementally moved downwards by Mr Obama.

All the while he is bent upon enabling Cloward-Piven, de-industrializing the nation, lowering this nation's greatness and strength, steadily removing its sovereignty piece by piece.

In this vein, air conditioning is now under fire by Washington Post AGW toilet-bowl lappers.

Next up for bid: AC Police, to see if you are being a good little Prole by turning your AC off when you may actually need it.

If we don't have sufficient electrical generation capacity for air conditioning, what makes anyone think there will be enough potential productivity for electric vehicles which must be charged daily? Yes, Demorats, Leftists and Progressives are that daft.

But no; Mr Obama and his drool-cup minions won't stop pushing, ladies and gentlemen. Not now, not ever.

Not whilst they possess even a modicum of power. The status of which is of grave concern to Demorats come November, at least in the House.

Which brings me directly back to Demorat apprehensions that Mr Obama simply doesn't know when to stop pushing.

In November, I say: VOTE THEM ALL OUT.

Grant their thoughts: make their concerns a reality.

Second Thoughts?

I may anger any number of my readers but what is a day or a night without a challenge?

I have been having second thoughts these days, about Iraq and Afghanistan.

I am thinking that perhaps it's time to put a fork in both of those countries; they're done. As should be our presence there.

I am thinking that perhaps it's time to pack up and move out.

Because I don't think we can "win."

I should care to explain myself further:

I don't doubt the American Soldier, not for a microsecond. I don't doubt his commitment, his courage, his valor, his strength, his honor, his obedience, his history. Make no mistake; it is the American Soldier that is, essentially, the savior many times over of this planet and of freedom.

But I am thinking that, if we refuse to support them logistically, if we fail to provide them with a clear mission, with clear and logical rules of engagement, with the equipment they need at the front and at home, if we fail to support them when they are injured, if we fail to support their families when they have shed blood for this country and proffered the ultimate sacrifice -- but mostly -- if we bind their arms and blind their eyes and still shove them out into a hail of fire and IEDs. . .

If we bind them politically and reign them in and keep them from winning. . .

. . . then is it not time to stop the further loss of our good young men and women in the military?

Is it not time to let what must be, be?

If we are not going to remove and ship oil from Iraq . . .

If we are not going to send Killer Squads into Pakistan to eliminate bin Laden . . .

If we are not going to kill five terrorists for every one soldier killed, and put their bleeding heads on sharpened sticks in public . . .

If we are not going to assault mosques and ventilate the Taliban and al Qaeda in what is, essentially, just another building . . .

If we are not going to tolerate collateral damage or casualties in any way . . .

If we demand perfection from our soldiers and expect lawlessness from our enemies, then prosecute our soldiers for being human . . .

Then we have committed ourselves to defeat and allowed our good men to die. And therefore, no more good men should die if we lack the political will to kill the enemy. Lots of people. People who deserve killing no matter where they be, no matter how they dress.

For Christ's sake, people, we refuse to even call the enemy "the enemy." We use euphemisms.

And then, maybe then, it really is time to pack up and go home.

FURTHER "Redistribution of Wealth" in the Obama Administration:

Move over, Dr Berwick -- here comes John P. Holdren, Mr Obama's "Science Czar," who called for more "wealth redistribution" a full five months prior to his appointment:

(CNSNews.com) – John P. Holdren, who then-President-elect Barack Obama nominated as director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy in December 2008, called just five months before his nomination for a global climate-change agreement that would allow wealth to be redistributed from countries in the global "North" to countries in the "South."

On the July 3, 2008 edition of the program “Democracy NOW!” Holdren told host Amy Goodman: “It’s important that we have a global agreement on how we are going to limit the emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases going forward, and an agreement that will include the tropical forests, that will include ways to transfer some of the revenues from carbon taxes or carbon emission permits in the North to pay for reduced deforestation in the South.”

Holdren, who is sometimes called President Obama’s “science czar,” is the administration's top science official.

Here's a lovely little gem of an idea from Mr Holdren in the 70s:

In a 1977 college textbook he co-wrote, “Ecoscience,” for example, Holdren said the United States must set an example for the world by undergoing “dedevelopment,” and that wealth must be redistributed “with and among nations.”

“The need for de-development presents our economists with a major challenge,” he and his co-authors Paul and Anne Ehrlich wrote. “They must design a stable, low-consumption economy in which there is a much more equitable distribution of wealth than in the present one.” “Redistribution of wealth both within and among nations is absolutely essential, if a decent life is to be provided to every human being,” said Holdren and his co-authors.

At least Mr Berwick and Mr Holdren are sufficiently honest to state their predilections up front.

Mr Obama is, of course, not.

Death Panels in ObamaKare: GUARANTEED.

_____________________________________________________

First: a bit of self-promotion. I've been writing this blog for six years now. My first post appeared on Saturday, June 19th of 2004. Whilst other much better blogs have, over the years, gone down in flames or been left to languish -- or, like Pasadena Closet Conservative, just disappeared in the middle of the night -- I still somehow manage to persevere.

And trust me -- as you likely well know, some incredible blogs (USS Clueless comes to mind) and bloggers have thrown in the towel and stopped their writing. Or abandoned their blogs. Or deleted them. I have bloggers still in my Usual Suspects list who haven't made a post in a month or more. I don't want to delete them and hope they'll return, but I can't have fallow fields. I like them, but inactivity just kills. I'll be restructuring my The Usual Suspects list shortly -- much to my complete disappointment.

You all know what a life-sapping activity blogging can be. And, further, if you don't have a brain-glazingly FAST connection the internet can literally crush your soul. But I'll write what most other bloggers may not and, as far as I'm concerned, is a True Constant in the world of blogging. . .

. . . and what kills most all other bloggers:

You have to post at least ONCE a day in order to keep a readership.

And that is what, eventually, slaughters the majority of aspiring bloggers.

It's fine for a year or two. Or perhaps even, in extremis, three. But my hat is off to those bloggers who've managed to survive and endure over three + years. You are, literally, the exceptions to the rule. The average blog, it is indicated, is created in seconds and lasts but two or three months, if that.

Ladies and gentlemen: I shall not be going away.

Not for many more years, unless I kak unexpectedly. My trolls can only hope for this.

DEATH PANELS IN OBAMAKARE: GUARANTEED NOW

Sarah Palin was excoriated and ridiculed in the media when she suggested that Death Panels would be the result of ObamaKare.

Turns out -- oddly enough -- she was correct.

Huh. Imagine that.

Looks like she really can see Death from her window.

Guaranteed, now, by Mr Obama's recess appointment of Dr Donald Berwick. He's only waited 17 months to do so.

From the Canada Free Press (whose masthead unashamedly declares: "Because without America there is no Free World):
Today, President Obama officially made Donald Berwick his recess appointment to be the administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

In 2008 while speaking on the British health care system in the UK, Berwick said wealthy individuals must redistribute their wealth to those less fortunate for health care funding. Also during this speech, he told those in attendance that he opposes free markets.

“Any health care funding plan that is just equitable civilized and humane must, must redistribute wealth from the richer among us to the poorer and the less fortunate. Excellent health care is by definition redistributional.”

Video of that here:

Does this sound, somewhat, like something you've perchance heard before?

Dr Berwick seems to have a "romance" with the UK rationed healthcare system.

Further, he is quoted as saying:
The decision is not whether or not we will ration care — the decision is whether we will ration with our eyes open.”

From the CWA:
If Berwick gets his way and the national health care system mirrors that of Britain’s, it will also model Britain’s myriad problems. One such problem is the low survival rate for breast cancer. Along with that, citizens of the UK currently have a lower average life span than U.S. citizens. With such alarming problems, the UK’s health care system is hardly the “world we wished we had.” It’s more like the nightmare we wish to avoid.
Perhaps it's time to take Grandpa and Grandma Nana and set them aside on a glacier floating slowly away from the tribe.

Moreover, it's apparently time to set me on a glacier as well.

But you know what?

Eventually everyone gets old.

Yes; even YOU. And them.

In The US: CLEAR Voter Intimidation & The DEM/MSM IGNORES The Issue!

For those members of the press who allegedly love a hot issue, here's a story for them which involves corruption in government, intimidation of voters, conspiracies, lies, obfuscations, deflection, minimization and purposeful ignorance -- up to and including malfeasance at the US Department of Justice and perhaps the White House.

What journalist wouldn't love to break or hop onto that story?

Well, as you know, that story is here, the facts are in evidence -- hell, the facts are on video -- the witness statements are made and immured and. . .

. . .there is predominantly the chirping of crickets on the part of the DEM/MSM. Ho-hum. Move on (.org). Nothing to see here.

Why? you ask.

Because the story involves Bad and Evil Blacks and a Justice Department that is corrupt. In the Obama Administration. And it involves voter intimidation in poor black areas of a major US city.

And lord knows, we can't -- in the US press and media -- help to expose the touchy topic of Blacks As Anything Less Than VICTIMS. Or a corrupted DOJ in the Obama Administration! Out of bounds! Out of bounds! 15 yards and loss of down!

The incident just doesn't play to the National Media Theme of Bad Whites or Corruption in a Republican Administration -- that would have been covered like a blanket from the first second of its exposure, and carried for weeks on end.

And so why won't I -- having recently addressed this incident -- just leave the topic alone and move on to more pressing issues?

Because it sticks in my craw that such a heinous event involving our fundamental right to vote is so totally and purposely ignored by our national media. And it clearly, clearly proves that the media is as corrupt and untrustworthy as our federal government -- as they are both in bed together, nightly rubbing each others' backs with warm hyacinth oil and whispering soothing words into each others' ears.

With one recent exception, from The Washington Times editorial page on Friday, July 2nd:

Editorial: media blackout for Black Panthers -- Explosive racist allegations ignored by poodles in the press

Where is the New York Times? Where is The Washington Post? Where are CBS and NBC? A whistleblower makes explosive allegations about the Department of Justice; his story is backed by at least two other witnesses; and the allegations involve the two hot-button issues of race and of blatant politicization of the justice system. A potential constitutional confrontation stemming from the scandal brews between the Justice Department and the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. A congressman highly respected for thoughtfulness and bipartisanship has all but accused the department of serious impropriety. By every standard of objective journalism, this adds up to real news.

Or it would be real news if a Republican Justice Department stood accused. It would be real news if the liberal media weren't mostly in the tank for our celebrated but failing first black president.

Oh, most assuredly yes.

Above, I mentioned involvement by the White House. Oddly enough, the editorial indicates:

On a parallel track, The Washington Times has reported strong circumstantial evidence suggesting that department officials may have consulted the White House before dismissing the case. That possibility, too, cries out for investigation.

The editorial logically concludes:

These broad policy questions and suggestions of political chicanery are important. Do we have a nation of laws equally applied to all, or is justice being reduced to raw politics? Investigating such questions is the essence of the news business. Failure to look into such a scandal is evidence of the institutional corruption of the much-ballyhooed "fourth branch of government," a supposedly independent media.

An "independent media"?

Don't make me laugh.

I find, these days, the real truths and facts are unearthed more in foreign media than my own.
